I use the two-wrench thing alot too. I also have short and long-handled ratchets, some with swivel heads. Putting a pipe on a ratchet is not real good for it. A breaker bar with a pipe on it is much better.

I got them and installed them today. The bag had EBC part nos on it (FA 88). Seem to be good quality. They are semi-metallic organic pads. The only difference with them is that they are a continuous pad, without the relief down the middle. I'm happy with my purchase so far. $38 bucks for 3 sets....oh yes.

Pretty cool, but just another huge obstacle for Emergency Responders to overcome when trying to gain access to people after an accident. Neat looking, though.

Just ordered mine. Hope they are good.

It shouldn't take off as long as the clutch is in...if it's adjusted correctly.

I put on a set of E3s Friday, and put about 300 miles on them this weekend. After about 50 miles, I was checking them out, and noticed the rubber felt almost like a drag slick, they were so soft. They rode great, and it looks like I still have all of the little "tits" on them(sorry, that's what I've always called them). So, it seems like they are sticky, but are still going to last a while.

Does it only have two wires? You can use a multimeter, and set it on "ohms". Touch the leads together first(without touching the metal leads with your hands), and make sure you get continuity(0 ohms). That verifies the meter is working and that the leads are good. Now, attach a lead to each wire. Meter should say OL or infinity, or something like that. Now, push the button with the leads attached, and the meter should read the same as when you shorted the leads together before(0 ohms). I don't have a schematic for your model to look at, but it should just be a simple two wires. That's how it is in the '83-'85 manual.

I would be interested in the stator if it works.

I ran 4 tanks thru my bike, each with a half can of SeaFoam in it. It's good stuff. Are any plugs fouled? -

Sounds like it is leaning out for one reason or another. Any exhaust leaks up close to the engine? -
Is it just me, or did his bike seem to be awful thin? At the beginning, when he squeezed that car, it sounded like he hit it. There were several spots where he squeezed through, that just looked impossible, even on a narrower dirtbike. If that video is even real, he is a very talented sportbike handler, but he has no brains. He shouldn't be allowed to ride at all. Look at the disrespect he showed for the other riders as well. I'm surprised he didn't wreck some of them with those stunts. I would've opened a door on him too.

Carbs gummed up after only sitting since August? Mine sat over 3 years, and it runs fine after a few cans of Sea Foam. He doesn't want you to start it, because then you'd find out about the 2nd gear problem. He says it shifts fine thru all 5 gears. It is fast approaching 50k miles, which is where the 2nd gear issue usually shows up. Wonder why he shows no pics of the rest of the bike?

I would start here. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33328 You could have a loose connection, or broken solder joint.(let's hope). -

Fishing? I already live on the best fishing lake in the states...lol Ky Lake....excellent crappie fishing...and they are biting right now. I do miss those German Brown Trout from up that way, though. I used to stand at the Con Ed discharge in Waukegan, Il and catch those Trout. Lotsa fun.

We went riding this weekend, and I found this... http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i274/13thAFMonterey/royal20blue.jpg I bought it for $2000. Mine has more lights on the back, is in excellent shape, and the paint matches my bike exactly(stroke of luck). I just pulled it 150 miles home. It pulls great! Did I get hurt:thumbdown:, or did I do good?

After some quick research, I see that the overheating stems from EPA regulations forcing Harley to make these new engines run leaner, which causes more heat. You can remap the computer to richen the mixture, which will cool it down. This may cause the bike to not pass emissions testing, and may not be covered under warranty. You can also install an oil cooler, and use a good synthetic oil, which reduces friction.

The new larger bore Harley engines tend to overheat at redlights, so Harley has set it up where the engine only fires on one cylinder during those times, to reduce overheating. I haven't really looked into the whys of overheating, but I think it may have to do with the larger bore, and thinner cylinder walls. I could be wrong.
