My youngest son, Dan (19 Years old) just traded a '91 Nighthawk for a 2007 Honda 919. The nighthawk could be almost scary fast. Lots of power. The foot pegs were not in the right location for me to ride for very long, but a surprisingly smooth ride. Not as good as the Venture, but nice just the same. You will enjoy it. Stay safe, Dave

May the Schwartz be with you!

Howard B When were you on the Bon Homme Richard? My uncle was lost overboard from her in 1965(?). He was a mechanic on an A4 I believe. Did my time in the Corps. Thanks for your (and everyone's) service to our Country. Dave

I second (third, forth???) checking out hte VA. The folks here in Sioux Falls, SD treat me real well. Only problem I ever had was having to follow the rules sent down from DC. On a side note, I was an in-patient over Thanksgining in 2005 for a severe infection in my knee. I awoke one night to the sound of a gurney going down the hall. On of th eVeterans had passed away. When they brought him ouyt of his room, they had already drapped him with the Flag! I thought that that really showed the utmost respect for the Veteran, even at 0430! Take care and good luck, Dave

If you can start the day without caffeine, If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it, If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time, If you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without alcohol, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, Then You Are ProbablyThe Family Dog! And you thought I was going to get all spiritual ... Handle every Stressful situation like a dog: If you can't eat it or play with it, P... on it and walk away.

The DQ here in Madison, SD sold 38,412 Blizzards for Miracle Treat Day! With the total surpassing the goal set by the store owner of 32,000 the Governor of South Dakota and Delon Mork, the owner, will make a tandem sky dive to celebrate! it amazes me that Madison and Lake county (total population of 11,200 people) can sell this many. What a great cause as well. Delon and his crews have raised over $250,000 for Childrens' Miracle Network over the last 8 years. Doreen and I did our share by purchasing 8 blizzards. Dave

Thursday is the annual Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day! As you probably know, all proceeds go to the Children's Miracle Network to assist in paying the health care for ill children. The DQ here in Madison has sold the most Blizzards in the whole DQ network for a few years in a row now. This year, they have a goal of 32,000! They sold over 31,000 last year. Here is a link to a news story that ran on our local CBS affiliate KELO TV. http://www.keloland.com/newsdetail.cfm/childrens-miracle-network-treat-day/?id=151663 Let's all go to DQ tomorrow and help support a great cause. Stay safe, Dave

Doreen and I went to Royal River Casino Friday night and got to see an amazing show. We saw BJ Thomas perform. He still sounds fantastic! He will turn 71 on August 4th but his voice is still great. Sure, he hasn't had a hit in a few years, but he was on stage singing for 1 1/2 hours! Royal River must be trying to compete with Grand Falls in IA as they only charged $20.00 per ticket. I hope they can continue with more shows of this quality and price range! Stay Safe, Dave

RandyA I am envious of you. I can not wait to retire and be able to just go if the mood strikes me. Although, it seems that I am always in a Glen Mille frame of mind, "In the Mood" but unable to act on it. Someday................ Dave

Good Morning all, My house is just one mile on the odometer from work. This morning it took me 45 minutes to get here. I swear that my front wheel has a mind of it's own. The darn thing led me half way around the county today. Do I need to change things around so I can leave earlier to get all the way around the county or is half way enough? Stay safe, Dave

I used Trex brand decking from Lowe's on my front deck. This has a 25 year warranty and comes in a number of colors. It is made with recycled plastic and saw dust. The color goes all the way through and is 6 inches wide and 1 1/4" thick in various lengths. Can even walk on it barefoot. Dave

I received the patches I ordered from Golf&Venture in the mail today. These turned out even better than the pictures showed! Well worth the wait. Thanks again for getting this together, Brian. Stay Safe, Dave

Congrats! We have one granddaughter almost 6 years old. The best thing about grand kids is that when the time comes, you can say to the parents, "This is stinky, it is YOURS!" Dave

Those look good! I may try something like this somewhere on my 1st Gen. My son has had them on a couple of cars and his bike. Have you seen Audi commercial with the two Spocks? That is funny. Dave

OK folks, I have a slight problem. My '84 came with the chrome trim on the gas filler door. I noticed this spring (if there is such a thing) that the adhesive had come loose and all that was holding it on were two small screws it the lower corners. I am guessing that at some point, a previous owner drilled the screw holes. One screw is in the plastic and seems to be holding O.K. but the other has a screw, not a bolt, going into a nut. I have it apart for cleaning right now. What I would ask the brain trust here is what is a good adhesive to hold the piece on? In addition to the adhesive, I am going to replace both screws with small stainless, or chrome bolts. Thanks, Dave

Does anyone know anything about a Mazda Tribute ES SUV? A local dealer has a 2001 on the lot with 88,000 miles on it. It has a 3.0 V-6 with all wheel drive. Seems to be in good shape, but I have not driven it yet. I am considering trading in my 2002 Silverado pickup on it. My pickup only has 78,000 miles on it, but I want something that gets better fuel mileage. Thanks, Dave
