  1. Best I remember the Pure1 filter at Advanced Auto was a little less than $7.00US. Got the blue bottle Rotella at Wally World, don't remember the price, but cheaper than Advanced Auto.
  2. I don't even have to take the right muffler off...
  3. Burgman? SilverWing?
  4. Yup! http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=96349 Don't go for the Heavier $70.00 one as from what I hear if you do you'll have to let the air out of a 150 tire to get it out...
  5. I lucked up, I think, on a used 5X12 "Big Tex" 305A trailer for $900.00 cash. It has 15" wheels and 2X6 wood flooring. I added the $30.00 H/F chock. I think I will eventually move the chock back about a foot and add an across the bed pick-up truck tool box across the front. Also I plan to put a hinge in the fold up ramp to cut the height in half.
  6. Is it just my 'puter:confused24:, this morning, or is the chat down?
  7. My I wear the transitions so I don't have to "swap". I do however keep my previous perscription pair in the saddlebags so if something happens, I don't have to try to find a seeing eye dog
  8. Welcome from another Mississippi boy!!! Glad to have you aboard. You'll find a lot of really nice people here, with a lot of helpful hints. If you have the time in August there are two big events planned one at "The Hub" in Arkansas and the second at Vogel State Park in Blairsville GA. We are planning on making the one in GA. I'm looking forward to putting some names and faces together. If you are ever up around Jackson, my cell phone # is on my profile, give me a call. Walter
  9. If you just happen to see any 2nd gen or tour deluxe hard bags:fingers-crossed-emo would you please let me know. Thanks!!! Walter
  10. This may be a totally off the wall thought, but somewhere on here I think:confused24: I have read these V4s won't run right with the air box off. If you are able to spray cleaner in the #4 carb you must have the box off. Try putting it on and see how it runs.
  11. Do you have internet seperate from your phone? If so, try MagicJack or Vonage.
  12. I do work for a dealer (just not Yammie) and if the warranty statement does not list components specifically as excluded, then it IS covered. For instance our truck engines are covered for 24 months, unlimited mileage. But further down in the statement it specifically excludes the water pump SEAL after 150,000 miles. The rest of the water pump is covered for the 24 months. So, IMHO if Yammie does not exclude (in your example) the fork seals after 4 years they are covered for the full 5 years.
  13. And even more trivia... http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=350980#post350980
  14. Don't know if the Venture is the same as my '98 RSTC, but I took the side cover off on the right, just above the horn and mounted it to a bolt under there, under the coolant reservoir. Not a real good picture, but the white wires with the green shields are connected to the relay.
  15. I really wish I could adjust my passing lights! They give me a real bright spot on the road about 30' ahead of me, and a lot of good that does. There is no adjustment to them at all. The passing lights are attached to the top of a bracket with the turn signals sticking out the bottom. I can only suspect these are Yamaha factory lights. BTW there is a small toggle switch sticking out of the rear of the left one. It turns the passing lights off and on. If that switch is on, the passing lights come on when the ignition switch is turned on. I have no idea (yet) how they are wired, but I like the idea of a relay and running them straight from the battery.
  16. Lookin' GOOD A couple of observations, though; seems that back plate somewhat blocks the taillight and hides the turn signals. I guess you are hooking up the lights on the kit fenders? Also, have you considered turn-downs on the mufflers! My Burgman exhaust melted a corner off the trim on that back upright plate. Otherwise Fantastic job!!! You are gonna love it!!!:dancefool:
  17. Check is on the way...
  18. After reading that a helmet should be replaced every so many years, I let my HJC CL-14 go with the Burgman and did some research on flip-ups. I landed on the HJC IS-MAX. I found New Enough had what seemed to be the best bang for my bucks, @ $144.00. It came in and I have ridden with on several short trips, a total of about 100 miles. I really like it, especially because it has the built in sun shade. With the old CL-14 I seemed to always have the wrong shield on it (tinted one at night or the clear one during bright sun). Ventilation is way better than the CL-14. I do have one gripe. The wind noise is WAY worse than the F/F CL-14 or my 3/4 CL-33. Has anyone else bought the IS-MAX? What is your experience with it?
  19. Don, This has nothing to do with saddlebags, but here is a note from one of my previous posts; One word of caution is that some insurance companies, like the little green lizard, will not insure a bike with a Voyager kit. Voyager can tell you who will. Not promoting them, but I had insurance on the Burgman with a company called AnPac. Another one if I remember correctly is Dairyland Insurance. Walter
  20. Just curious, All day today if I leave the website in the background for say 30 minutes, I have to re-login. Is it just me or is anyone else seeing this happen?
  21. haven't ridden with any wings yet, but flat out on an entrance ramp, 65 is where I go into 3rd...
  22. All valid answers!!! Also, if the defense tries to rattle you by asking another question, before you can answer the first one, take a deep breath and say "Excuse me!!! I can't answer while you are talking!!!" "Please, one question at a time!!!" That will rattle HIM (or her). Also, please do not be tempted to take any notes with you to the witness stand. Prayers are with you!!!
  23. Lewis, I'm filling out my registration, but I have a question. It lists "Passenger" as an extra $15.00. If all works out, we are coming in a motorhome, towing the bike. My wife and son are coming, would that be :scratchchin:2 passengers? Walter BTW Purple tee shirts 1- large, 2-medium
  24. HELLOOOOOOOO!!! :stickpoke: In another thread we decided the plug and play kit won't work on our bikes, but this one made by Stebel will...
  25. I cannot speak as to how a c/t will affect the ride, but I can say that the first rear tire on my Burgman, with the Voyager kit, wore flat on the bottom like a c/t. There was plenty of tread left on the sides. Also, the Voyager kit IS a little stiff solo, but a lot smoother 2 up. One word of caution is that some insurance companies, like the little green lizard, will not insure a bike with a Voyager kit. Voyager can tell you who will. Not promoting them, but I had insurance on the Burgman with a company called AnPac. Another one if I remember correctly is Dairyland Insurance.
