  2. Lovin' it!!! The rear Avon was into the wear bars so it HAD to be replaced. I got a good deal on an OEM 404 take off with 60% of the tread left, so I put it on. To be honest, I cannot tell a bit of difference in the handling. Maybe that is because there is still a Venom on the front.
  3. I bought the RSV (some say I stole it!) about a month ago. For now plan on keeping the TC for a run-about. I've added the venture bags and an after market tour pack. I'll most likely be on the RSV Sunday.
  4. Wow que the eerie music!!! I had to split the fairing on my bike this afternoon and was thinking I wonder where to get some spacers to set the passing lights out so I don't have to take them off. Oh well, at least now I have a neat new set of NAPA ball allen wrenches.
  5. Appology??? None needed!!! It should be us thanking YOU for all the times it DOES work! :clap2::clap2::clap2:
  6. After having not ridden it for about a month, since I got the RSV, I pulled the cover off the Tour Classic, this afternoon. Just as soon as I sat down on her I thought, Wow I see now why the RSV seemed so intimidating. The TC seems WAY smaller than the RSV. I can actually put both heels down and bend my knees slightly. On the RSV I cannot get both heels down at the same time, even with zero pressure in all three shocks. Then when I pulled out into the street it seemed like I was back on something, size wise, in line with an old Honda (CL77) 305 Scrambler! Ok I know the difference, but man it is seems small. I guess I was always under the mistaken notion that the Tour Classic was the same physical size as the RSV, just with less bling. Anyway, I really had an enjoyable afternoon running errands on the Old Friend! It BTW still has the completely stock Yammie mufflers on it and that was another plesentry as the RSV has Road King mufflers on it and they (IMHO) are too loud, at least for my taste. They are loud enough I have to turn up the volume on the AM/FM that I haven't yet figured out if I have one of the Chirp-er/Whine-ers Anyone wanna swap a stock/stock set of Yammie mufflers for a set of Road Kings?
  7. I got the old, tired black, slant bags that I might be talked out of, if anyone is interested. I have no clue what they are worth. does $400.00 sound about right?
  8. During a yearly motorcycle show here in Jackson, MS there is an LEO motorcycle competition. Watching them do this same kinda stuff on their "daily drivers" is incredible! Most of them still ride Harleys.
  9. AND I bet a lot cheaper than UPS, HUH? I'll check it out. THANKS!!!
  10. Gonna take the factory, non-folding one off my 1999. PM me your address and it is yours for shipping charges. Not sure how to wrap it, so I may have to take it to the local UPS Store and let them take care of it. Walter
  11. Bobbie, I recognized you and Sleeperhawk, Eck and his better half, and the official Troublemaker:crackup:, but who were those fine looking "invaders"?
  12. I had a saddle bag bolt (thank goodness it was one of the top ones) strip out. Vice grips would not grip it, so I tried a very small pipe wrench. It has not been used much and the teeth are still sharp. Pushing it hard sideways on the bolt head, it dug in and turned it. All the saddlebag bolts now are flanged hex-head bolts.
  13. WD-40 first to clean it, let it dry then Dri-Slide or an equivalent...
  14. YEARS ago, my partner and I answered a house burglary call. The local (hippie) dentist showed us where someone had used a pry bar of some sort to break in his back door. When we asked what was missing, he didn't miss a beat, and said all 8 of the pot (yes marijuana) plants he was growing on his back porch. HEEEERRES your sign!!! Darn I wish they had left at least one. Another time I had stopped a young man from an adjacent town for running a stop sign. Since he was from out of town, he had to "post a bond" until court. Well we could not take his check, so his girlfriend who lived in town offered to give us a check for it. Ok, as she pulled her check book from her purse, her "baggie" hit the floor. When I picked it up, the chivilrous, dumb a$$, said "that's not her's it's MINE!" We locked up both of them! HEEEEERRE's your sign!!!
  15. Annie, Have you checked out; http://www.wearecb.com/store/motorcycle-intercom-rf-limited-riderlink-st1-audio-system-p-3122.html and http://www.wearecb.com/store/75822-ultra-compact-cb-radio-with-mobile-adapter-p-789.html
  16. But first mess with his head, ask how much to add the CB option, 'cause you won't buy one with out it...
  17. Well...:stirthepot: You could have been in on this one :stickpoke: :crackup:
  18. This is a coal hauler for Mississippi Power on the Miss. Gulf coast. The company that I work for/retired from did a complete rebuild on it. This is the truck that is hauling it from Jackson to the coast. The complete truck/trailer rig is 167' long. Thought y'all might enjoy seeing it...
  19. As stated the one I bought was around $30.00 U.S. from H/F. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=96349 They make a heavier one for around $70.00 U.S., but don't get it, 'cause once one of our "150" width tires locks in you will most probably have to let the air out to get the bike out. On that box it says for tires up to "130".
  20. If the "Last Known Good..." Thingy does not work, try the "r" thing and if it asks if you have an ERD (Emergency Repair Disk) say no and see if it will find the repair files that are hidden on your hard drive in a folder called "Repair" under either a folder called "Windows" or "WINNT". All IS NOT lost yet!!!
  21. Right after powering the machine, try hitting F8 right after the "Dell" screen to get a black and white DOS type menu. Select (paraphrasing) "Use Last Known Good Session". Good Luck!!!
  22. :sign yeah that:You beat me to it. (I don't have to lean, I just have to pull up behind DragonRider and it turns right over. ) Maybe he tried your method and is stuck under the bike
  23. Good looking dog, AMAZING photography!!!
  24. I agree with the motorcycle trailer idea. Is the 5X9 you priced the actual inside dimension. I haven't measured a Venture, but the absolute minimum inside trailer length for my RSTC is 9'. I ended up buying a 5X12. Also when loading and unloading crank the tongue up as high as possible (while still hooked to the tow vehicle) to keep the ramp/bed break over angle to a minimum. AND as already stated if what ever you get has a metal floor, be careful, 'cause it will be slippery, for both tires and feet! Congrats on the new bike!!!
