Why Me??? But at least it happened in my driveway. Hopped on the RSTC to run a quick errand this afternoon and noticed it did not wanna turn out into the street. Yup, front tire was VERY low. Got the air compressor and pumped it back up. When I took the chuck off, noticed air coming out from the valve stem. It is torn just above the wheel rim. Cannot for the life of me understand what could have pushed it sideways enough to tear it. Oh well!!! As I don't have a M/C jack, just a 2-ton small floor jack anyone have suggestions on how to jack it up enough to get the front wheel off. I'm thinking about running it up on my trailer (it will hold air long enough to do this) where I can tie it off in the rear to hold it upright, then using a 2X4 under the engine to lift the front wheel.

Nah, first one I just poured the whole can in the fuel tank and filled it up. Will probably not have the power it did (with the whole can in there), but will run. after that I used a 1/2 a can per tank, for the other two cans. Did a carb sync somewhere in there too.

My '99 RSV was like that when I first bought it. It had 16,700 miles on it. After 3 cans of Seafoam it is MUCH better. I still have to choke it for about a minimum of 30-45 seconds, first thing in the morning, unlike the '98 RSVD which I almost never have to choke, at all.

This is why I have a stand-by generator for the house and a Cellular "Air Card" for my laptop...

If he has to replace the bulb, I'm like a lot of others here, I'd put in the Silverstar Ultra. I have them in my cages, and would like to put on in my '99 RSV, but doing a search, I have yet to come up with a part # for the Silverstar. :think:Does anyone have the part #???

I could be wrong, :think:but I was under the impression that it should be 1/2 fork oil and 1/2 ATF, not brake fluid...

But if you are feeling really ambitious (read: bored:snow:), after you get the switch outa the fan, drill the flared edges of the rivets, holding it together, and carefully take it apart. If there are any "OH-CHIT" parts that come flying out, revert to the plan listed above. If not, carefully replace the chain with what came off, when it broke. Reassemble it and replace the rivets with screws from the "I'll need these sometime or another" jar on the corner of your work shop. Tightly wrapped electrical tape will work just not very long as screws.

Parking in marked stalls..ediquite and safety
wes0778 replied to tony h's topic in Safety and Education
Just curious, how wide is a parking space in relationship to the length of a RSV. :think:Seems like if you put one 90 degrees to the curb the front wheel would be sticking out in the traffic lane... -
WOW!!! Learn sum'pin every day!!! I hadn't found that functionality...

The down side of that is ya gotta take a "regular" telephone, plugged in to it, with ya too.

I have it and it works reasonably well. I've not cut "the cord" just yet. My main problem is the "organ donor" laptop I built to run it locks up after a couple of days. I've been too lazy to switch it to another one. One thing I do really like is when someone leaves a voice mail, the .wav file of the voice mail along with the calling phone number comes as an email to my Blackberry. I can listen to the voice mail, on the Blackberry, then just click on the phone # to call the person back.

trouble with voltage
wes0778 replied to jonsmyth's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'm a newbe to these electrical systems, so I'm no expert, but my first thought is when the fan comes on it is overwhelming the charging system. What additional lights and/or electrical accessories are you running. When in traffic, disconnect anything that is not 100% necessary, and see what happens. -

License Plate - Is Something Missing

You could cover it up with a large chrome license plate cover... And I love showing the tag to Hardley Riders!!! -
Steve, Would that be what I would need if I wanted to have dual filament bulbs (Running AND Turn) on the rear of my '99 RSV. If so, whatcha want for a pair? Walter

Now all you need is one of the bumper stickers saying; My daughter and my money go to University of Richmond... :mo money:

The speedometer on my, uh I mean, AN RSV will run out before 4th gear does, or so I've been told...
-
Just my . I put 3 foot antennas on mine, but now I wish I had put 4 foot on on it. Reason being the top tip on the left one is just at the right height that I have thought several times when I got off and walked to the trunk, "that could snag my glasses and/or poke me in the eye".

:sign yeah that:
