When I installed the speed bleeder in the clutch, on my RSV, I was concerned that I had cross threaded it, or the thread pitch was wrong, as it took way too much force to install it. I even backed it out twice. The ones for the brake wheel cylinders took nowhere near as much force to screw them in.

I could be wrong , but I think that red stuff is thread sealer, not thread lock...

Yeah, being a reserve officer, me being off to go to court was not something that made my "day job" boss happy, so I gave lots of warnings. That being said if the conversation from someone I stopped started out; "Don't you know who I am!!!" My boss would just have to be unhappy...

From my experience of moving from my '98 RSTC to my '99 RSV is the seat height. I'm 5'5" with a 27" inseam. Until I got the RSV, I thought the RSTC was tall, but was under the mistaken idea that the RSV was the same size. WRONG!!! Once I get the RSV moving, to me, it feels pretty much like the RS, as long as my feet are on the boards. Coming to a complete stop, though, the two bikes, IMHO, are very different. I can for the most part get both heels down on the RS, but not on the RSV, unless 2-up. While still a challenge, I am getting more comfortable coming to a stop on the RSV. Yeah, I HAVE dropped both of them several times (don't kid yourself, unless you are Superman, you will too!). You haven't said how tall you are, but if you too are inseam challenged, you might consider lowering the front 1". If you are taller, consider leveling links, which will raise the rear about an inch. Either option will make the RSV handle a lit better at low speeds. Changing to a 130 front tire has been reported to help low speeds, but some say that the 130 is not as stable as the 150 at highway speeds. OH I forgot to say; :welcome1:to the asylum!!!

replace the dryer, dollars well spent!!! It catches the debris and moisture. After that many miles the desiccant (stuff that absorbs moisture) is probably saturated.

Story of my life....... :bawling: Thanks Larry!!! -
I wish I had taken pictures of the kit mounted on my former (Burgman) bike. I really liked it! notice the on the front end of the trailing arms have ball type ends. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=170485269999 It is hard to see but the rear connector arms are open and simply slide on to the horizontal pins that are mounted on the bike's rear swing arms. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=170485269999 (I hope these links show the individual enlarged pictures) Didn't work, so see pictures 1 and 4

lift adapter 96 classic
wes0778 replied to casabroker's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Will the "special" one for the Royal Stars work for a G2 RSV too? I have one of each type bike and when I do decide to purchase the lift adapter, I'd like ONE that will work for both bikes! -

That one tube should have a "straw" attached to the under side of the cap. It reaches to the bottom of the catch bottle. Since it is below the coolant level in the bottle it allows the coolant to flow back to the radiator.

:sign yeah that:

That's why there are two lines on the overflow catch bottle. One for when the engine is hot and one for when it's cold.

Drive the truck rear wheels up on 4X4 blocks, thus raising the front of the trailer which would lower the rear.
