    Mom

Jeff, May the Lord hold you and comfort you in this your time of sorrow! We are never ready. Most words ring hollow at times like this. One never gets over this, but time will make it easier to deal with. Prayers sent for you and your family. Walter
  2. I bought mine directly from Barons, but they did not have the "knobs" to support the rubber bumpers. Do the Gen Mar ones have the "knobs"?
  3. :sign yeah that: Here's what I did on my switch cover. not pretty, but functional Would probably not show up so much with a black cover.
  4. A couple I found riding Run for the Wall. The blue one looks to be about one wheel short of a VW Beetle...
  5. Sweet ride!!! Blue is my favorite color I really like the turn out exhaust tips!!!
  6. Can't help it, Gotta brag and show him off!!! This is the reward for not killing our young. Wife put a chair down to keep him outa the dining room. Didn't work He has trouble written ALL over him...
  7. New Balance VELCRO walking shoes... :cool10:
  8. Trish, June 19th Oberlin, OH - Maintenance Day Plan to be there and look at ALL the bikes!!! Besides, Mini and Lonna could use another redhead to blame trouble on...:stirthepot: :rotf::rotf: Now back to the regularly scheduled program!!!
  9. First off :welcome1:to the asylum!!! Glad you found the chat room, come back often. If you really are interested in your own bike, look at a Suzuki Burgman. They are big scooters. They come in 400 and 650cc versions, have an automatic transmission and the brakes are on the handlebars, so no foot pedals. The 650 will cruise all day at 75-80 mph, 2-up, and are pretty quick too. It is big enough for a first bike too for hubby. After the safety course, he could move up, leaving it for you. my Walter
  10. Don't put a 150 tire in the black H/F chock!!! You'll end up having to let the air out of the tire to get it out. BTDT-Burnt the Tee shirt!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. I like the HJCs that I have owned, but I guess how good they really are will not be known until you need it!!!
  13. My thoughts are the marker lights should be on the same circuit as the tail lights. Don't know how your trailer is wired, but in my experience when the markers come on when the brake is pushed, there is an insufficient or missing ground. This will sometimes resolve itself after you ride a bit and the hitch finally makes good electrical contact with the ball.

    Risers

I left the cushions out. Others have made alterations to keep them in place. (CMIKE, Where is your post on this???)

    Risers

The trick is to slide them in from the side. Don't try to put them in place and then lift the bars up onto them. Can be done by one person, but definitely easier with a 2nd pair of hands.

    Risers

Try this; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Royal-Star-1-5-Handlebar-Risers-Venture-/200477756054?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ead67ca96 I have the Barons version of these on my '99 RSV. I had to put them on as my hands are installed too close to my shoulders. This may not get you as much pull back as the Flanders bars. But these are much less expensive than the Flanders as you don't have to change hoses an cables.
  18. If ya really like cutting grass, it is suppose to only be in the 80s next week, here, and since my grandson has jumped ship back to GA for two weeks I'll have to do it, unless you wanna enjoy a ride east... :rasberry: We don't have a horse trough, but come to think of it the dog does need a bath, since that seems to be the way you like to cool off!!! :stickpoke::crackup:
  19. Oh No!!!!!!! I hope someone does not ask WHY???
  20. Hey I checked mine and there is not tool kit in it!!! Could that be the reason I have to switch to reserve with two bars showing on the fuel gauge? The low fuel light has only come on once and that was with one bar showing and 5 miles into the "F" reading...
  21. First off I started with a '98 RSTC. Love the bike, but it was not long before I realized the leather bags were not gonna cut it. After a couple of short trips, the wife did not wanna ride 'cause there were no "hold on" handles and the back rest was too low. Then we went to Vogel and I learned a CB would be nice to have in a group ride. Long story short I spent a ton of $$$$$s trying of make the RSTC into an almost RSV (Trunk is a MUST have!). If you plan on many 200+ mile trips, the RSV wins hands down! The good news, at least for now is I have the best of both worlds. The RSTC as a "grocery getter" and the RSV for cruising. BTW I have more $$$$$$s tied up in the RSTC than I do in the RSV, which I got for less then the $5000.00 difference you mentioned between the two bikes you are looking at. Yeah, it is a '99 but I got a CD player AND a cassette player in the deal.

Relay IS required unless you wanna let the smoke out of the stock wires!!!
  23. Thinking outside the box; After you charge the battery, check the voltage directly across the battery terminals, then check the voltage from the Pos(+) battery terminal to a bare spot on the frame and then the engine. Those readings should be VERY close to the voltage directly across the battery. Now chase the Positive battery cable to the first junction and check the voltage between it and the negative battery terminal. That reading too should be VERY close to the reading across the battery. This tests the positive and negative cables. You are probably jumping it with a car battery, which may have enough CCAs to overcome the bad cables. just my
  24. Pictures I took over three days. (They are not necessarily in order) Since I posted them on FaceBook and I'm lazy, I'll just give the link... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2062308&id=1339132101&page=4#!/album.php?id=1339132101&aid=2062308&s=0&hash=a677c89a9af0390164d2cb78e466ec61
  25. I had the honor today to participate in a short section of Run for the Wall 2010. I Rode, with a number of other Mississippians from Jackson, MS to Tallulah, La to meet those riding the Southern Route. From Tallulah, The first stop was the Trail of Honor at the Harley dealership in Jackson. I'll post more pictures later, but here are the most moving ones...
