  1. Larry, When you and "T" went out to cover your scoot Saturday night, did either of you take my bike for a spin? When I started out of the parking lot Sunday morning, I noticed the "MAX SPEED" entry on my Garmin was 141mph!!!!!!! Yeah I should have taken a picture of it...
  2. Thought that is a strange comment as the rear brake on this beast is way too big. Be careful because you can lock the rear wheel when you REALLY don't want to. (Read up on "high siding") As for handling, it is a matter of opinion, but I let the front of mine down 1" so that, IMHO, it handles WAY better at slow speed. I've not noticed any adverse effect at high speeds.
  3. Not long after I got the RSV I noticed the lids seemed loose, so I went in to check the screws. Well they were all tight, but I found the metal stem of the hinge was a little too long and stuck slightly through the plastic lid. This meant that there was no clamping force on the lid. I ground the hinge stem down about 1/16" so that when I re-tightened the screws the washers clamped the lid. Problem solved no more unwanted movement.
  4. Lewis, How would it work if we just asked each member(according to his ability and inclination) to send you a cash donation? Just think if each of us sent you just $1.00...
  5. I just made it home, after a wild night in Tunica! Sorry there seem to be no pictures... I guess what happens in Tunica stays in Tunica!!! Had a wonderful ride home this morning! I told the Garmin lady to take me home and started following her advice. But then I got to Hwy 3 South and "she" was telling me go straight, Well what the heck I turned right. Well she started Re-calculating until I got to an interesting road to the left. It turned out to be a very nice back road with some neat, for this part of the world, twisties and hills. It finally took me to I-55 for a boring rest of the 180 miles home. And the wind today was rough too, but at least for the most part it was a tail wind!!! Again, good to see everyone:178: If any of you end up in the Jackson, MS area, please call or come by:thumbsup:
  6. Finally got away from the house about 3:30 this afternoon. Weather was beautiful, low 80s and not a cloud in the sky. That being said, there was a quartering head wind from the left, that reminded me of the south TX ride, from Rockport, the last week in January!!! Some of you will remember THAT!!! At any rate wonderful ride as far as Clarksdale, MS. See y'all in West Memphis in the morning!!!
  7. Never!!! Now the RSTC and RSV, well...
  8. Oh just waiting on the Ba-da-bing and rim shot...:crackup:
  9. PM sent and Voice mail left...
  10. Friday night??? Betty says she is definitely not going, so if possible, wanna let me split the room with you?
  11. Save your money!!! http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-wheel-chock-96349.html I have this one bolted to my trailer. Once the front wheel is in place the RSV will stand up straight plenty long enough to get tie downs on the rear, to steady it. Then I can take my time properly securing the front. Just make sure the front tire does not hit the side, but goes in the center. I've been told this can turn the bike over and throw you off the trailer. Not that I'd know from personal experience...
  12. Three things make a lady look better; Distance, Darkness AND Al-key-hall...
  13. Which model/style? I "Googled" Bates Boots and they make a BUNCH of styles. I need something better than my New Balance Velcro "quick starts".
  14. I'm wanting to go if I can get my strength back. Is anybody going up Friday? If so where are you staying?
  15. :sign yeah that:
  16. :yikes: Story goes driver was by himself and dozed off... No one hurt
  17. And very shortly after saying it, DOES IT!!!!
  18. Haven't looked, but is the protective rubber boot available seperately? It sounds like keeping the polished ram clean may help extend the life, so changing the boot occasionally and maybe putting a hose clamp on the top side would keep contamination out. may be another dumb Walter idea...
  19. That's where I found the problem with mine. The cables on mine seemed almost guitar string tight. That was pulling the plugs apart. put dielectric grease on them and made sure the plugs were completely together. Problem went away.

Thanks for asking Bob, yeah I had a bout with diverticulitis that put me in the hospital for a week. Thankfully I, so far, have dodged surgery.
