Before considering electric, how dependable is your electric service? Ours has gotten better, but still goes out occasionally. I chose gas water heater, furnace, stove and dryer, for economy, but also so I needed a lot smaller standby generator. It has been a while ago, but last ice storm we were on the generator for 3 days, but had lights, heat and hot water. All on a 7500 watt whole house generator.

Thought we'd start him on the "little" one...

Oh and my deductible is $250.00. That was $4.00 more per year than $500.00 I kinda thought THAT was a no brainer...

I hope y'all are not gonna tell me I screwed up!!! Anyway my home owner's insurance came up for renewal and I went shopping. My Allstate agent said he could not write Allstate for our double wide, but quoted me American Modern Insurance Group. Sure enough they beat Foremost (which I've had for years). He told me they also wrote M/C insurance. He did quote me Allstate on the scoots, but it was ridiculously high. Long story short, yearly premium for full coverage for BOTH scoots was $620.00. That's not each that's both! Renewal with each was $436.00 with Geico on the RSTC and $425.00 with Progressive on the RSV. Hope they AMIG is a good company!!!

turns as far as dragging the foot boards? For what ever reason I'm much more comfortable leaning hard into a left turn than a right one. On my Tour Classic, with the exception of "The Dragon" I've never drug the right foot board, but occasionally, effortlessly, drag the left one. So far I've not been comfortable enough to drag either board on the RSV.

svchost.exe using 99% cpu
wes0778 replied to wes0778's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Thanks, but this is an old Gateway box and takes a "special pair" of chips. That's the reason I have never upgraded it. It started life as an "ME" box and I upgraded it to Win2K then eventually XP. It runs "OK" as I don't use it for much other than Quicken, a remote link to the company AS/400 and VR.org. -
B-B-But does it have a cassette player??? :smile5:

svchost.exe using 99% cpu
wes0778 replied to wes0778's topic in Computer help and tips for using this site.
Yup, tried that. Got a message that my machine had later updates than what this was trying to install. Ran CCleaner to get rid of cookies and such. Will try uninstalling IE8... -
My home desktop PC has a problem. A while back the PC that I mainly use for Quicken/Banking slowed down to a crawl. It is an older Gateway 1.3GHz with only 256meg RAM running WinXP Pro. Long story short I found SVCHOST.EXE is using 99% of the CPU. I have run MalwareBytes, Adaware, SpyBot and scanned it with Symantec and Forticlient antiviruses. Nothing found! I re-ran SP3, which did not help. Ran XP install "repair" then SP3 again. Problem still there. Oh and while FireFox works fine, IE8 will not open except in Safe Mode. I have also tried re-installing IE8. Tried several things Google found, but none of that worked. Any Ideas????? Walter

My sole experience with them was a positive one. The tire I bought from them had a 2007 date on it. When I questioned them about it, there was no hesitation on their part about checking their stock (they showed 6 more on the shelf), for a newer one or full refund including return shipping. I chose to to let them look and check their supplier for a "fresher" one. The lady called me back just a few days later and said all in their stock was the same date as mine and the supplier had no newer ones either. She again offered to take it back. I chose to keep it. She assured me that if I had any problems with it they would stand behind it. The rear tire in question is a Conti Milestone. So far I'm very pleased with it! It has canyons for tread grooves and really bites for braking.

How would you trade for a set of, louder than I like, up slash Road Kings?

If the stock mufflers are not drilled and will fit an RSV, I might be interested...

Trouble in cold weather
wes0778 replied to MississippiTour's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hi Guy!!! What part of Mississippi??? What year model??? My '98 RSTC is not near as cold natured as the the RSV, which is a cold natured bit_h!!! When the temp is below 40, I do have to use the choke on the TC, for a few minutes. After that even in the 30s it runs fine. I don't care what the temp is, I have to choke the RSV for a few minutes when I start it for the first time each day. Walter -
113??? So I've been told My bike runs the speedo needle past 120 about 1/2 way into 4th gear(2-up) and accelerates respectively when shifted into 5th... :cool10:
