What may be confusing (was to me) is the main headlight wire coming into the fairing is R/Y (Red and yellow) to one of the white plugs but leaves that plug (going to the dimmer switch) as L/B (Blue and black). That R/Y wire should have 12V to it when the ignition switch is on. As mentioned before, the headlight fuse also protects the running/tail lights, so if they are on the headlight fuse is OK. If the running/tail lights are on and there is still no power to the R/Y wire, instead of chasing wires in the harnesses, now might be a good time to put the headlight (and passing lights if you have them) on relays. Just my

Just my When it quits, do the speedometer and the headlight go out? If it does, I'm betting on bad ignition switch contacts. I know I'm on borrowed time with mine. So far I've not had it quit while running, but when I 1st turn the key on I have to find the "sweet spot" for it to run.

We won't talk about why (after hitting the donate button) I got the idea of cutting my windshield from the bottom. No tape necessary, no danger of damaging the finish and the original top profile stays perfect. I cut off 1" and relocated the holes, with my Roto-Zip.

Don't know what the differences are between the SY-Max and the IS-MAX, but... http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=352653&highlight=helmet#post352653 That post was over a year ago so I have lots of miles in wearing the IS-Max. I still like it, and my only MAIN complaint is the noise.

Wow!!! Shifts much better

Never said it was "hard" to shift, I lube the linkage pretty regularly. It's the "clunk" between gears that disappeared...- 17 replies

I was going for 6,000, but from this experience, I think I'll probably change it around 5,000 when I notice the "clunky" shifting.- 17 replies

Ran some errands on the RSV yesterday. Out of the blue, "the light came on" darn this thing is sure is shifting "clunky". Well it does have 5500 miles on the T6 Rotella. I wondered how long it would run, cause it was not very discolored. Changed (stayed with the T6) it this afternoon, sprayed dry-lube on the linkage and man, all the difference in the world!!! BTW If you use the PL14610 instead of the PL14612 you gonna need a filter wrench like the on the on the bottom (or the kind that look like big jaw pliers). The longer "610" fits fine, but comes too close to a frame rail to use a wrench like the one on the upper left.
