  1. go to http://speedbleeder.com/Motorcycle%20Sizes.htm scroll down to the Yamaha list and look for Venture, I believe they are the same.
  2. :sign yeah that: I was on one of the G2s, seems like it took us a week that afternoon
  3. Why bother??? Haven't had them on my bike since the 2nd time I had to pull the seat. In fact one of the studs is missing too...
  4. sorry I cannot find the picture with it installed, but I put mine in the empty space in the CB box under the trunk.
  5. The Venture bags are an exact fit. When I put them on my '98 I had to "adjust" the crash bars forward just a bit.
  6. had a 150+ mile day. Lunch with an old friend and her hubby. She rides her own Virgo, while hubby and new friends ride HDs. http://www.motorcycleroads.com/routes/SouthEast/MS/MS_5.shtml

assembled as indicated makes the tongue almost level when hooked to my bike.

  9. Don't think you are imagining it!!! and I'm told that a G2 is even capable of lifting the front wheel a few inches if you get after it hard enough form a rolling start:shock3:.
  10. I got one from the local Ace Hardware, works fine... http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=568616#post568616
  11. Yeah, they ARE suppose to BLINK!!! :rasberry::rotf::rotf:
  12. +1 on the Barons!!! http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=315017&highlight=Baron*#post315017

  14. If not too late 2 each 3-1/2
  15. Just got these back, will install them this weekend. Any interest in them for about $150.00/set plus shipping?
  16. Single cam OHC, not sure of the size.
  17. My Wife's '95 SC-1 has been drinking oil for a while and severly fouls the plugs regularly. I've been told these engines are bad to wear out the valve guides, causing the oil consumption. Any truth to that? Is it possible to replace the guides, or will the head have to be replaced? Can this engine be "in-frame overhauled"? This is just what I needed another "project"!!!
  18. If it is like all the other warranties I've had to administer, you will have "warranty" for one day. Anything after would be called "policy" or "goodwill". You might wanna see if anyone offers an extended (really an insurance policy) warranty for tha bike.
  19. The Factory seat is a pain, you know where, but looks like that one has Corbins, which seem hard at first, but after a while you will like it. As far as "rough", My '98 RSTC is not quite as smooth as my RSV, but I would not consider it objectionable. In fact I prefer it for in town errands over the RSV.
  20. Yeah, :welcome1:to the asylum!!! :dancefool: Now I think if you search diligently you will find several posts that highly recommend NOT using the RSV as a deer hunting weapon!!! Now BEAR hunting, that's another topic... :rotf::rotf:
  21. Problem is there is no key slot in the axle...
  22. Brian, Thanks!!! It is indeed a castle nut. My concern is that when it is adjusted like I'm used to adjusting the pre-load, (since the washer between the nut and the bearing is not keyed to the axle) the nut rocks back and forth against the cotter key. If for no other reason, than my peace of mind, I'm thinking double nut as well as the cotter key. For now don't remember if there are enough threads for that.
  23. It's done!!! Took it for the maiden voyage this afternoon. This is only the 2nd time I've pulled a trailer, but I could not even tell it was back there. I do have some concern about the wheel bearings. I pulled it about 15 miles at around 60mph and stopped to check the wheels. the hubs were warm to the point they were uncomfortable to hold for long. As I've already mentioned the bearing retainer nuts were tighter from the factory than I would like. So I don't know if the preload is to much or if I put too much grease in the hubs. There are grease zerks on the wheels so I pumped the hubs full. If I were to back off on the retainer nuts one notch, I wonder if the cotter key will stand the load, since the retainer washers are not keyed to the axle?
  24. Jonas, Phone # is in my profile if you get as far south as Mississippi. We'll leave the light on for you!!!
