I've wondered about the same thing. As a comparison the front brakes on my '98 RSTC take way less pressure on the brake lever than on the '99 RSV to get the same results. This is not to say the RSV front brakes won't bring it down, it just takes a lot more pressure than the RSTC. I don't know what brand/type of pads are on either bike as they are what I inherited from the previous owners.

Just a heads up... From my experience with a Voyager kit on my Burgman Scooter, some insurance companies will not cover the kit. Please check with your carrier so there are no surprises!!!

Hope those of you that ordered one, got it! I checked with Woot last week as mine had not arrived. The response was it had been lost in the hand off from FedEx to USPS. :crying: Good news is the refund has shown up in my PayPal account.

My HID headlight came in Friday, from Canadian Custom Got out yesterday afternoon and installed it. The hardest part was getting the HID bulb in to the headlight bucket. I had to take the two bolts holding the frame in place, out, to get that long bulb installed. (note to self don't forget the rubber seal ring around the back of bucket!!!). Then where to mount the power supply? Well there is an empty flat place (looking AT the bike) on the left. Thinking double sided emblem mounting tape, but not sure of the heat. Really don't wanna drill holes in the fairing, so lemme call the expert! I guess great minds run in the same circles (Thanks Squid!!!). So I mounted it with the tape right in that spot. Since I already have a "fused" power wire run from the battery to a switch (that picture did not turn out) all I had to do was connect the large power supply wire for the HID light to that switch. Woo Hoo didn't have to pull the tank!!! I did run in to one "bump in the road", the red power supply wire pulled out of the fuse holder (insufficient crimping) that is supplied with the light kit. A quick trip to Autozone and that was taken care of. MAN, that sucker is BRIGHT!!! The pictures don't show it, but it makes the stock passing light bulbs look like yellow fog lights:(.

I have a REALLY heavy heart this morning!!! We had to put two of the 4-legged children to sleep this morning. They were 15 or 16. Some will say typing through tears is silly as they were just dogs... R.I.P. Toy and Taylor Pictures are from happier times...

I have a 5000Watt - 230Volt and a 2500Watt - 125Volt that are up for loan to any member that needs one. They have both been sitting up for a long time and will more than likely both need the tank and carb cleaned. Other than that they were working fine when I stored them. At this point, they would have to be picked up here in Richland, MS, as my pickup is not running and I would not want to put either of them inside my other vehicles. Phone # is in my profile. Walter

Yeah I retired 2 years ago in March. I may get to try being retired for a bit after B2Dad's M&E. I'm booked up with part time work through then. Oh, well at least for that they send :mo money:!!!

Frank, Thanks!!! That's the funny thing!!! I have used my Ohm meter and cannot find a wire, on the steering column, that is common to the red, pig tail, wire under the airbag cover. There is a black wire and a black/white wire on a flat plug on top of the steering column, but that black wire is not connected to the red wire. In fact it is common to ground. I know the red wire leads to the horn relay, because I've got a push button "rigged" to it (hanging out from under the air bag cover) so I can put the horn fuse back in, which turns out the Service(wrench) light. Ok weekend project exploring the BCM. Walter

How 'bout caging it on Monday and taking a week's worth of clothes in a hang up bag...

It seems that some of the Saturns are plagued with horn button failure. It sticks closed, thus the horn blows continuiously. Well I am lucky enough to have bought a 2003 Vue with this malady. The problem is that the horn "button" is part of the $700.00 air bag. As you can guess I ain't gonna replace the airbag. I have found a schematic that shows a black and a black/white wire on the dash side of the steering column, which I wish to intercept. That way I can put a $2.50 "Rat-Shack" push button on the dash. Well I have cut in to the red wire in the airbag, which when grounded makes the horn blow. My problem is that I have checked EVERY wire under the steering column cover between the clock spring and the dash. NONE is common to the red wire in the air bag. as a temporary fix I have wired the switch to the red wire in the air bag and left it hanging out from under the air bag cover. Pray tell, do any of you know where the #28 wire is to be found going down the steering column?

I'm sorry for your loss!!! It's hard for me to realize my Mom left this world 12 years ago this month. The hurt never goes away, just gets easier to deal with. There are still days when I have a thought; "Gosh I need to tell Mom..." or "I need to ask Mom...." My thoughts and prayers are with you and you family!!!

That's really neat!!! I'm interested in how the spare tire is attached.

Think that light is built into the speedometer module. Don't know if it is replacable, but I'm sure someone will chime in. But to at least to answer part of your question, yes you do have to split the fairing to get to the speedometer module.

Taking the left rear fin assembly off makes it much easier, but DO NOT start the engine with the fin off.
