  1. Just a thought, but you got any friends that could loan you a parking "boot" to put on the front wheel of his truck the next time he DOES show up?
  2. Just another thought... Has anyone let the "Hoppy" control relays which in turn sends power directly from the battery to the appropriate circuit on the trailer?
  3. I'm not familiar with the RSTD, but looks like aftermarket grips more and is the trim rail around the front fender standard? Purdy!!! Looks like you came out OK!!! Oh, I almost forgot,:welcome1:to the asylum!!!
  4. The 5 wire to 4 wire adapter that I installed has been working fine with the H/F LED light kit I put on the H/F tag along, earlier this year. This week end I added red LEDs high on the rear of the trailer for additional tail/turn/brake lights. I also added red and amber LEDs on the corners. They are hooked up with the tail light circuit and work fine. My problem is with the brake/turn circuit. The new red tail/brake/turn LEDs are wired in parallel to the original tail lights. When I turn the ignition on, the low intensity for the original tail lights and the new addition tail lights come on low intensity as they should. If I press either brake pedal, the existing tail lights go to high intensity and the new ones do to. If I turn on either turn signal the proper original turn signal blinks as it is suppose to, but the "added" light does not. If while the turn signal is blinking I press either brake, both original brake lights go to high intensity and the blinking stops, although there is a slight intensity oscillation in both sides. The converter I have is not a "Hoppy" brand. I'm wonder if The additional LEDs have exceeded the capacity of the adapter? I got this one at Ace Hardware. Where have any of you found a "Hoppy"? I need to get this fixed BEFORE Thursday, as that is when we need to head out for Vogel. And if this wasn't enough, while changing the oil this afternoon I noticed an oil drop on the bottom of the rear shock!!!
  5. my RSTC has passenger foot boards, but it is a '98. Wonder if they could be added to your '96?
  6. Another "trick" some have used is to bleed the clutch as best you can then pull the lever in and zip tie it to the grip. Leave it for at least 12 hours (24 if you can wait that long). This seems to allow the air to move up the hose and be pushed out the top when you do release the lever. I think it was YammerDan that came up with this...
  7. Air is coming from around the threads. Put Teflon tape on the threads or buy Speed Bleeders.
  8. Prayers sent from here!!!

  14. Adding an ignition bypass switch in my open air shop. no pictures 'cause it is in a secret location Had plenty of help and she seems excited to be going to meet her namesake!!! :dancefool:
  15. It may not be a screw at all. some are plastic "pop in to lock" fasteners. Try using a knife blade or the like to slip behind the "screw" head and pry out on it.
  16. There should have been a "Certificate of Origin" in the trailer's packaging. That way you register it as a new factory built trailer, not "home built". If someone else comes up with that "Certificate" they could claim ownership of your trailer.
  17. I got the same '99 and love it!!! Now let the chromin' begin, 'cause remember EVERY motorcycle is ALWAYS at least $1000.00 from being finished!!! Didja find the driver's headset connection? I see the passenger's is there. (The little black thingy stuck to the rear fender just above the left saddlebag.) AND also to the asylum!!!
  18. We'll be heading that way early on the morning of the 18th(Thursday). Looks like our planned route is I-20/I-59 from Jackson, MS to Gadsden, AL to Rome, GA then 411 to 515 to 76 to Blairsville. Anybody wanting to tag along, COME ON!!! :cool10:
  19. For future reference, what are the Timken numbers for the cheap Chinese ones???
  20. :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  21. The "problem" here is that you have added more load (extra amps) to the already weak ignition switch. Putting in a relay for the passing lights keeps this extra load off the ignition switch.
  22. A wife asks her husband, "Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk, and if they have eggs, get 6." A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk. The wife asks him, "Why the heck did you buy 6 cartons of milk?" He replied, "They had eggs."
  23. Kreg, As I said in another post, if you need a place to crash Saturday night, Wes and our grandson will be here and y'all can stay at our house, and/or on the return trip(We'll be here by then).
  24. That is the plug for a (5-pin) headset. May be relocated. There also should be one on the left side under the passenger seat. Mine is "glued" to the fender. The RSV uses the same headset as a Goldwing. There is a power port with a cigarette lighter style plug on the left rear of the front fairing.
  25. north bound on US 49, between Florence, MS and Richland, MS. Traffic kept me from turning around. Just wondering if it was one of us passing through Mississippi.
