They asked the hard headed folks who chose to ride out Katrina to write their name and SS# on their chest with a permanent magic marker. This makes identification of the body easier!!!

Clean and properly tighten cable connections to the battery. Heck while you have the cables off run the battery to Autozone, or equivalent and have it load tested.

I have a trailer that would haul the bike, but it is not large enough to hold both the bike and Tom's trailer. I'm 8+ hours away, but that is not a biggie if I need to come.- 137 replies

Now WAIT A MINUTE, This is like saying if a guy pulls a gun and shoots at you but misses is not guilty of trying to kill you. DARN RIGHT I'd be calling the district attorney of that jurisdiction!!! -
TWICE Which renewed my membership in the "I dropped my Bike at Vogel" Club. Hmmm Dropped it once on my 1st Vogel trip and twice on the 2nd trip, does that mean I gotta do it 3 times next Vogel???

:whistling::whistling::whistling: We made it home, safe, just a few minutes ago. Waved bye to Kenny(kbran) and Beth in Meridian MS, about an hour and a half ago, after a HOT but uneventful trip down. So good to see everybody again, just wish we all weren't so geographically spread out!!!

B-B-B-But those are the DRIVERS floor boards...:stirthepot: -
I hope the DPR7EA9s won't hurt anything, as that appears to be what came with my bike 16,000 miles ago. When I changed plugs, a while back I put back in what came out. Guess I shoulda checked the manual to be sure what the PO installed was correct. Well maybe I'm wrong, but it don't appear to be "broke" so I guess I'll not try to "fix it"!

Finally got the bike and trailer all checked out and ready to pack for tomorrow. I have noticed for a bit that the wheel seals may have been leaking, as there is grease on the inside of both wheels. I pulled the caps this afternoon, just to be sure everything is ok. Well both wheels are still full of grease, but the seals are worn. I think that is because the seal surfaces on the axle was never polished. I can still feel the tool marks where it was turned down. When we get back from Vogel I think I'm gonna make a warranty claim against H/F, for a new axle. Just wondering if any of you with H/F trailers have run into the same thing?

I heard a rumor a while back that one of the members actually did THAT..... :yikes: :stirthepot::stirthepot:

Well, I think a bad battery is gonna be the cause of some of the difficulties. I changed it out then put the "hoppy" back in. Everything is working as advertised except the 4-way flashers. When I turn them on, the lights on the bike flash, although a little faster, but the LEDs just "quiver". Oh well gotta change the rear end oil and I think the bike will be ready for the trip to Vogel...:dancefool:

Jeff, Thanks!!! Yes the red ones on the rear are dual intensity. The two amber ones on the front are single intensity and are wired to the low intensity tail/run circuit only. Using a battery charger and putting 12V to each pin on the trailer plug, all lights light properly. Trailer plug Brown Wire=low intensity ALL lights Green Wire=High intensity RIGHT side Red lights Yellow Wire=High Intensity LEFT side Red lights An insufficient ground connection for the lights I added to the top shell may be a factor, but I fixed that I'm in the process of installing a Hoppy brand converter, but in the mean time, I think the battery is trying to roll over and die. DOES IT EVER END??????
