  1. :sign yeah that: Since I put the upgrade in mine I haven't noticed any difference in the clutch lever pull. I have noticed that the clutch engages a little more aggressively, which (IMHO) I like. And yeah, why would he want to install someone's problem in his bike?
  2. Have you looked in to POR15? http://www.advanced-rust-protection.com
  3. Hey, some of us who HAVE joined are TOO. So to the asylum!!!
  4. Got home safe about an hour ago. As usual at one of Lew's parties, had a wonderful time! :clap2: There is good news that I will let Lewis tell. There is bad news. The Alabama riders kicked out butts on the fund raising challenge. There were also several more of them that showed up in Memphis today.
  5. You shouldn't have to remove the exhaust if you have a "good" set of ball type Allen wrenches. Also I would suggest that you invest in a 1/4" drive inch/pound torque wrench for the pressure plate retainer bolts. From what most say using the "calibrated wrist" can result in broken bolts and/or stripped threads in the soft aluminum of the clutch housing.
  6. :sign yeah that: But I'm only 64...
  7. Mine is "switched" but so far have not had to use it.
  8. The 5.8lb/ft = 70 lb/in For what it's worth H/F has a 1/4" drive lb/in torque wrench on sale for about $15.00US Just put the Skydoc upgrade in my '99 and love it!!!
  9. I believe the ignition switch on these bike is what's called a double pole single throw (DPST).
  10. Jerry, Glad to hear this news!!! You up to making the ride to Memphis Oct. 1st?
  11. I don't hear mine, but then again my wife says I don't hear much anyway. I hot weather with stop and go traffic the only way I can tell the fan is running is when I feel the blast furnace on my legs.
  12. Both of my bikes have this option included...
  13. If it won't start after being on the tender for a day, I'd suspect failed battery first. Take it somewhere and have it load tested.
  14. That's why we have a WORKING CO detector in our motor home!!!
  15. Nice try, but you forgot there are some of us that have know you for a while!!!! :stickpoke::stickpoke: :crackup::crackup::crackup:
  16. Oh BTW to the asylum!!! Don't forget to let us know what you find!!!
  17. Air may indeed be a problem, but to back up a bit, you didn't say why you were into the clutch. Was it to put a full disk in place of the 1/2 disk? If so did you get BOTH of the shims (under the 1/2 disk) out of the stack? BTW when testing mine yesterday after the upgrade, I didn't measure the pressure plate travel, but I would estimate at least 3/8".
  18. Why not??? He still has the front brake...
  19. DONE!!!!! :dancefool: As others have said, cleaning the gasket was the most time consuming part. Haven't ridden it but about 20 miles,so far , but it didn't slip cold like it had been doing.
  20. Yep, my "Skydoc kit" came in yesterday so I'm putting it in this afternoon...
  21. did they have the green leafy vegetable seasoning flakes in them?
  22. Still getting the message Invalid Redirect URL (http://venturerider.org/modules/Jig/index.php?) Same results using IE8 or 9, Firefox and Chrome
  23. Not sure exactly what's hanging up, but I suspect you need to go back into the clutch. There is something out of place. I'll be into my clutch this weekend. I have Skydoc's upgrade kit on order.
  24. Betty and I are planing on it. Will cage it if the weather is bad. May have a co-worker in his 1100 GW. Also deltaladyrider may come with us too.
