  1. I have a 7.5Kw continuous, 10.5 surge gasoline generator that will run my whole house. It does protest when we turn on the 1250Watt microwave. It will start and run the 10,000BTU window A/C unit. I have not tried to see if it will start out 4 ton central A/C unit, as I have the connection between the generator and the house fused at 30 Amps. I would think your having a heat pump might make it necessary for a little larger unit for you, however. By design, everything at our house that can BE gas IS gas. My setup which is far from a "code" installation is manual. I have to manually cut loose from the commercial power, plug the generator into the outside fuse box and start it. Once the generator is running I then close the switch on the fuse box between the generator and the bus bars in my house power panel. It burns between 8 and 10 gallons in 24 hours, running continuously. When our power goes out it is generally not out more than 4-5 hours. Except of course when Katrina came through and them we ran it for about 40 hours.

  3. Remember that here it's when folks STOP picking on ya that you are in trouble.... :stirthepot:
  4. I gotta chime my smart a$$ in too. I'm one of those that read both of your posts and didn't reply! Why you ask? Well #1 I have a (at least) 3rd hand bike that I know has had the handlebars replaced when the PO laid it down. I cannot say for certain WHAT handlebars are on it, so I didn't want to give you incorrect info. #2 As for the jack, I just got one of my own and before that never jacked up one of these "monsters" without using a Carbon_one adapter, so I was certainly not gonna comment on something I've never done!!! On a lighter note, now that I've got that off my chest, to the asylum!!!
  5. Installing the 1-1/2" risers is about all the cables and hoses would take on my RSV. I would suspect if you used them AND the RSTD bars the hoses would be too short. Cables might be re-routable.
  6. There's a Donate button for that... :stickpoke:
  7. :sign yeah that: Let me know if you need me to look. I have 2, here somewhere.
  8. in another thread. I have had mine now for about 3 weeks and have not had the "miracle results" some of my co-workers said they had with their's. Just wondering who has them and what experiences you have. Wife says at least I'm not snoring now! I started out with the mask just over my nose, but I must sleep with my mouth open, so I had to switch to a "full face". Still cannot say I feel more refreshed when I wake up.
  9. I think 3rd place should have at least tied for 1st place. :rotf:
  10. Don't remember the wire colors to this "thing" behind the battery, but I wonder if this is the elusive diode? It has two rather tiny wires coming to one end and has fabric looking material in the two holes in the other end.
  11. Kevin, I wish!!! But the only way to re-tighten the supply line was to move the tub away from the wall. I forgot to mention mobile home. Both "wall" sides of the tub are on exterior walls. Strap wrench (didn't wanna put pipe wrench on the threads) and an impact wrench would not loosen the packing nut.
  12. Not how I wanted to spend this afternoon and tomorrow. My son Wes, on the right in the picture, complained to his landlord (me) that the hot water knob on his tub was leaking when he turns it on. Ok, simple job, remove the knob and tighten the packing nut, right? NOT!!!!!! First the Phillips head retaining screw is already stripped! Bad sign, to start with. Ok Get the handy dandy new H/F screw extractors. Didn't work, ended up drilling the head off so I can use Vise Grips. You guessed it the stub broke right off flush with the valve. Ok, just remove the valve and go to Ace for a replacement. Again, OH H@LL NO!!! the packing nut has been tightened BEYOND tight and the faucet arrangement is NOT a solid bar. There are separate valves for hot and cold with hoses running to a TEE under the faucet. SOOO, you guessed it, instead of the packing nut coming out, the whole valve turned, loosening the supply line nut, causing a bigger leak. Does this tub have an access cover? Another H@LL NO!!! SOOOO, take a look at the picture to see where I left it at 9:30 tonight.......
  13. Oh it is a slightly used OEM Yammie shock, off a friend's '01(I think). Was not leaking but he chose to try a Works, so this one was just collecting dust in his shop.
  14. WOW!!! What a difference!!! Put about 50 miles on the bike this afternoon and it rides better than when I 1st got it! Pogo Stick is GONE
  15. BFH is always within reach AND Sometimes I think I'll just stab myself with a screwdriver before I even start, just to get it over with.
  16. Got to use my Christmas present for the 1st time. Borrowed a Carbon_One adapter from a member here in town. Swapped out my rear shock this afternoon. Haven't ridden it yet, but seems the bounce is gone.
  17. Guess I'm late to the party! Just checked, nobody home.
  18. My thought on this is if the bike is WELL SECURED to the jack and the rear wheel is off the ground. Put the transmission in neutral, turn on the ignition, put the stand up, pull in the clutch lever and press the starter button. After the engine starts put the transmission in 1st and see what happens. If the engine continues to run, let it idle and shift up to 3rd or 4th. With the clutch lever pulled in apply the rear brake. If that drags down the engine the clutch is not releasing, i.e. "locked".
  19. I don't know how on the '93 Olds, but on my '83 Caprice there is a way to make the Check Engine light flash the fault code. You count the flashes and get the table that goes with your car and look up the code, to define the fault. It has been a while since I had to do that on the Caprice, but think it flashed 4 times with a pause then 4 more for a code of 44. Regardless of what it was, it said O2 sensor. Replaced it and no more codes.
  20. :sign yeah that: Remember if you let the magic smoke out of the wires BAD things happen!!!:yikes:
  21. Just shy of 36,000 miles. It only had 16,000 on it when I bought it a couple of years ago. Not knowing the pedigree from the two POs, I can't say for sure this is the factory original shock.
  22. $55.00 is a healthy "bought" lesson to be more careful/observant next time, HUH? My Thought would be braze it, but who uses brass anymore? wouldn't be pretty unless buffed and polished, but wouldn't match the other one. That of course would not work if it IS aluminium.
  23. I think I'm right in that the reverse is true. They bounce due to lack(it all leaked out) of oil, which acts as the dampening agent.
  24. Don, the one I think remember has a machine drawing cut-a-way. I thinking this through Yeah I know thinking on my part is dangerous! there would need to be two holes drilled. One to put in new oil and a second one to bleed air as the oil is introduced. Or a vacuum could be applied to the top hole to draw the oil in from the bottom hole.
  25. Highway speeds, 55-75.
