  1. You know that'll never work here!!! :rotf::rotf: Glad to see you back posting!!!
  2. I the one that did some trimming! Also eventually painted the chrome one black to cut out the glare on the windshield. Now that it is black the cut out shows up even less.
  3. Yeah!!! Just a child.... :rotf:
  4. I'm happy with these folks in Murray, Ky. http://www.twowheelsound.com/ Got my J&M sets from them.
  5. If by "crank" you mean the starter does not spin it over, my '98 did that at a gas stop several weeks ago. Shut it off, fueled up and when I went to leave , "click" and then nothing. Turned the key off and back on. Everything lit up 'til I pushed the start button. Thought battery, since I had just been through the same thing with my RSV. Was right next door to Advance Auto, so started taking the battery out. Thought, hmmm! Terminal bolts are not as tight as I think they should be, so tightened them about 1/4 of a turn, each. Bike started right up!!! Moral: check simple stuff FIRST!!! If it "Cranks" but won't start then that's another program...
  6. Just some thoughts on the wing nuts, 10mm is the size of the socket needed to remove them not the thread size. Not sure what it is. second IF you use wing nuts that are not nylon locking (if there is such an animal) I'd still use the rubber hose with the wing nuts to keep them from vibrating loose and falling off. OR there is a member(Rick Butler maybe?) on here that makes ez-on ez-off seat nuts.
  7. Caveman bought the wind wings I had for sale and twisted my arm so hard, I just had to deliver them!!! So, got up this morning and with Wes as my navigator we headed south on US49 to the coast. Met Caveman to deliver the wings. Then he and I rode over to Ocean springs to show off a friend of mine's "museum" of old motorcycles. Simplex-es, Mopeds, an Allstate Cruizaire and a Zundap just to name a few. Had a fantastic catfish lunch (you really missed out Carl!!!) and headed home. All in all about a 350 mile day.
  8. Does it need a trailer hitch. I'll be glad to help monkey boy with a hammer, at Doodles's come March... :stirthepot:
  9. I lowered mine a full inch. I agree that it takes some extreme persuasion to get the forks to move in the triple tree!!! Right Thor (aka gunboat on here) :rotf: One of the best mods I have made on the bike!!!
  10. Yeah, $5.00 each is a little stout! I think the in-lines are going back! I used crimp type butt splices, this afternoon installing my LEDs.
  11. Well I bought the AZ LEDs with the intention of putting them on the reflectors. But then I just couldn't get passed the "boo-boo" on my fairing. So I decided to cover it up and add the red LEDs to the side of the trunk. This way they are higher than the reflectors anyway. Got started tearing into it and just couldn't quit...... To get power to them I tapped into the relay for my passing light and ran the wire for the rear lights from there too. I also installed a separate fuse for the new LEDs Oh and this was a REALLY unusual repair for me, no blood was spilled!!!
  12. If you wanna come get my '98 this weekend you are welcome to it!!! We'll figure out how to get it back later...
  13. WOW, I just went to NAPA and bought 4 in line and 2 "Tap" type. $29 and change. Won't be using many of these!!!
  14. Think this is the 33 LED board, but still bright. Low load and very little, if any, heat. http://www.bikerhiway.com/yamaha-led-tail-lights-c-520_312_327_329_368.html
  15. Like to see the Pics!!! I ran into the same problem, my local AZ store only stocks one each, but the 5 mile away one has one each too. Sunny and upper 60s tomorrow..... Oh from where did you order the light bar???
  16. Yeah working now
  17. This looks like something I need to install, for sure. It would be MUCH safer and more convenient than what I have now. But my question is what is a "Generator (Back Feed) " breaker? I have called the Square D distributor here and then didn't know what I was talking about.
  18. This might save ya a few bucks... http://www.google.com/products/catalog?rlz=1C1AFAB_enUS450US450&q=Tri+Power+generator&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=14179099967929411432&sa=X&ei=tnAgT9fkIoGBgwes06STDw&ved=0CHcQ8wIwAw
  19. Says they are eligible for free two day shipping to your home...
  20. I'll start a search party...
  21. Yep!!! Oh, AND be sure to put a fuse next to the battery! Don't wanna be letting any of that magic smoke out of the wires under 6 gallons of gasoline!!!:shock3:
  22. I would bet not, 'cause it seems the stealers don't do relays!!! :stirthepot:
  23. So far I love my HID from Canadian Cruiser Custom. Some have had issues with them, but for me,so far (knock wood-knock wood) mine has performed flawlessly. I do have switch on it, but have never had to use it because the light went out when I hit the starter.
  24. I can imagine that the heat pump thingy runs up the need. Especially if the emergency (resistive) heating elements are needed.
  25. It doesn't mention that the (red) B485R is an LED, but the (amber) B485A is an LED. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Blazer-3-3-16-x-1-1-15-in-amber-LED-mini-clearance-marker-light/_/N-25ho?itemIdentifier=78372&_requestid=654431
