  1. At least you only have squirrels. Noise like that at my grandmother's house, years ago netted 6 full grown possums!!! :yikes:
  2. It is held on by two bolts, under the front of the seat. They may be hiding behind part of the seat fabric. Takes a 10mm socket to remove them.
  3. Don't know if she will listen to a real world example, but I had a 22YO co-worker determined to by a Ninja from another co-worker. This was the 1st bike the 1st co-worker had ever ridden. He to promised to take the course and finally wore down the seller. The boy PROMISED to be very careful! He had the bike 3 days when he let the bike WAY out run his experience. He centered a power pole and was pronounced DEAD AT THE SCENE!!! Just my !!! DON'T USE A CROTCH ROCKET AS A LEARNER BIKE!!!!!!!
  4. :sign yeah that: Disconnect, clean and re-tighten the cable connections to the battery......
  5. The Night Nurse...the more you think about this one, the funnier it gets. Short & sweet, A very tired nurse walks into a bank, totally exhausted after an18-hour shift. Preparing to write a check, she pulls a rectal thermometer out of her purse and tries to write with it. When she realizes her mistake, she looks at the flabbergasted teller, and without missing a beat, she says: 'Well, that's great....that's just great ..........some a***ole's got my pen!:shock3:
  6. Stock up on Mountain Dew and Snickers, so when the little one progresses from Rug Rat to Curtain Climber, you can give him/her a sugar charge about 30 minutes before he/she goes home!!! :cool10: :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  7. Good for him, I love watching his TV show!!!
  8. Haven't used the CB to check it, but the FM radio played just fine on my commute to work this morning. Don't know what they are measuring, but when you remove the "bulb" from the housing, it is the exact same diameter as the sealed beam bulbs, and fit's perfectly in the RSV buckets.
  9. Ok, the LEDs from Northern tool came in this afternoon. As was mentioned the "bulbs" can be popped right right out of the stiff rubber housing. I had to cut the wires, but no big deal there. They fit right in the the passing light buckets. Took it for a quick spin and WOW they are bright!!! :cool10: The down side now is the Silverstar Ultra is now what looks like an amber fog light:crying: Guess I gotta punch up Canadian Cruiser Customs to see what they are gonna do about my (in warranty) failed HID. :stirthepot: The next to last picture shows the difference between the new LED on the right of the picture to the stock incandescent on the left.
  10. Hey on the flip side, in Mississippi summers, My RSTC is MUCH cooler than my RSV. In the rain, yeah, that's a different story, but life's all about trade offs...........

  12. This one has 4 wires (I have this one on my trailer) http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2Ftlb-r11.htm#photos This one just has three, as it does not have the "turn signal" capability http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2Fblb-r9.htm#photos
  13. Just a thought but your stop/turn light should have three wires going to it, Left Turn, Right Turn and Ground. If it also has a Run(tail light) function there will be a forth wire. The stop light function comes into play when power is sent to both left turn and right turn wires wires, from your 4 wire tow vehicle. So if you already have a 5-wire to 4-wire converter on the bike you already have your problem solved, I think.....
  14. Probably not what you want, but....... http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3931&title=1998-tour-classic-leather26quot-3bslant-26quot-3b-saddlebags&cat=8 :cool10:
  15. I scuff sanded the chrome piece, that goes around the gas cap and over the ignition switch, with 400 grit sandpaper and then put a heavy coat of "rattle can" black on it. It dried to a crinkle finish, which looks pretty good. Now no more blinding reflection on the windshield. Oh and I cut the bottom off a can kozzy and put it over the gas cap, to deter that reflection on the windshield.
  16. Sounds like someone I know that just moved back to Loooeeezanner a couple of years ago......:cool10:
  17. RSTC Royal Star Tour Classic (Yammie Scoots between 1st and 2nd Gens)
  18. But I haven't heard any first hand reviews. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200407598_200407598?issearch=127757
  19. Clear blue skies and temps in the upper 70s. Rode 90 miles down to Hattiesburg (Gettin into shape for the TX MD ride next week). Had lunch with two good looking ladies (don't tell my navigator who stayed home!) then rode back home.

  21. I'm 5'6" with a 27" inseam. I have lowered the front of my RSV 1" and have cut about an inch off the seat. I also narrowed the front of the seat to allow me to put my legs straighter down. I also have thick sole shoes and boots. Yes, I have dropped the bike several times, but it has been a while since it last happened. At the time we lowered my bike, I didn't realize that I could go a inch and a half. Depending on how things go at MD the end of this month, I may try to get the other 1/2". Hey THOR!!! you gonna have the hammer there???
  22. Just my It is my understanding once you drop the rear, the bike will be back at the same stance (just lower) as it was before you lowered the front and this means you will lose that "lighter" feeling...
  23. You might wanna look through this. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57583&highlight There are some other threads about these trailers. The main thing is grease and bearing preload on the wheel bearings. Oh, and unless they have changed up things, you will need spacer washers between the tongue and hitch. The Hoppy connector I show in this thread will not work the 4-way flashers, on the trailer. That may have to do with all the lights on the trailer being LEDs. At any rate, I have just changed it out for the Hopkins # 48895 converter. It still has some quirks, but now the 4-ways flash on the trailer, as they should.
  24. Somewhere over the years I lost Brother Dave's album... The Motor-sickle story:rotf::rotf: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1kZ7SQ2MV4&feature=share]Brother Dave Gardner - Motorcycle Story - YouTube[/ame]
  25. The superbrightleds.com light that I ordered to mount between the helmet locks turned out to be too long and a little too wide, so not to let it go to waste, I found a spot on the rear of my trailer This one is, I think different from the Signal Dynamics one in that it not only is a tail light/brake light, it is also turn signal capable. Sooooooo....
