  2. What is the in-service date on your '07 bike? It could still be covered by warranty. If it is just barely out of warranty, you could still contact Yamaha and ask for some policy consideration. Hey nothing Ventured(pun intended) nothing gained! Heck even if they offer to pay 50% of a new radiator, you could be money ahead.
  3. Good Lord willing Wes and I will be there...
  4. This old guy would have jumped a crotch rocket driver's a$$ if I could have later identified him. On the last summer's Vogel ride, he cut under me in a hard left turn. Thank goodness it didn't spook me enough to wreck my wife and me, but IF................
  5. Thanks folks for all the good birthday wishes!!! Now I guess I'm officially old, at least according to my new Medicare Card.....
  6. Makes no difference running or not. Also receiving is crystal clear.
  7. When I got the bike, the AM/FM antenna had already fallen off and the PO had switched the CB to the AM/FM side, as he didn't use the CB but wanted to listen to the radio. I have replaced both antennas with Firestick knock-offs from flying J. Originally they were solid mounted (still buzzed). I have since installed twist off mounts so I can put the cover on the bike. I may need to look for fold over ones. High power??? I didn't know there was a selection, Carl.
  8. When I finally got a headset for my RSV, I was told it transmitted a buzzing noise over my voice. I attributed it to the cheap Motocom headset. I have since up graded to J&M headsets. This afternoon, the neighbor across the street asked me to listen for a radio check from his Wing. He came in loud and clear, but he said he could hear me ok, too, but there was a buzzing when I hit the transmit button. The buzzing is the same engine running or not running. Any suggestions???
  9. the front tire can be removed using a floor jack and the side stand. I put the jack stand under it, 'cause my floor jack tends to leak down.
  10. If it is an new OEM 404, I'd run it. No not the best handling tire, but I got more than 10,000 miles out of an OEM. On the other hand I only got about 6500 miles out of an aftermarket replacement 404.
  11. Wow!!!!! For that price, I can wear out 3 Tourmasters.......:shock3:
  12. To any GM Tech's, I have noticed occasionally when I activate either turn signal, nothing happens. No green indicators or front or back outside lights. The 1st time it happened, I thought fuse! not knowing if the 4-way flashers are on the same fuse, I pushed the 4-way button, they worked. When I turned them off I noticed that the left turn signal was now working properly. Yes the lever was still pulled down to activate the left signal. When I moved the lever up to activate the right signal it too was working, again. Tonight it happened again. Again I activated the 4-ways and the problem was again corrected. Has anyone seen this happen? Is it common? This is a 2004 Impala 4-door sedan, with the 3400EFI engine. We have only had it a little less than a year. It has 178,000 miles on it.
  13. Like Dan says, Seafoam!!!! But if one cylinder has been running REALLY rich, then it may be time for a spark plug inspection and replacement.
  14. Maybe a defective new battery???
  15. For $0.01 each I'm pleased, so far. When they arrived, I thought how can 3 covers be in a package this small. Oh Well!!! They are not something I would use long term, but they will be perfect for traveling. The won't take up much space and will be great for use over night in a motel parking lot.
  16. I don't know how many of you can see this on Facebook, but we lost a brother from Pearl, MS. A fine young man, Investigator Mike Walter 5/1/2012 R.I.P. 18. I played copy cat and put the amber flex LEDs in too. I see that you put them on the I.D. facing toward the outer edge. I tried something different and 1st put them on the O.D. pointing inward. This made them in my opinion show up better. I then put aluminum foil behind them as a reflector. Only when I went to install them on the bike did I realize that the strips were just slightly wider than the recess in the LED "bulb". This made it impossible to get the retaining ring securely back on the bucket. SOOOO, back to the drawing board! I peeled the strips back off and installed them pointing to the outer edge. I still put the aluminum foil behind them as a reflector. The 1st picture is with the LED strip pointing to the center of the "bulb":( The aluminum foil, not pretty, but functional...

  20. Just my I put these http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/trailer-lights/led-trailer-light-kit-95974.html on my Tag Along right off, for brighter lights, but also to not increase the electrical load on the bike. This kit is an exact copy of what comes with the Tag Along, except it is LEDs. Oh and it had no effect on the flash rate on the bike.
  21. Funny how the adrenalin rush makes these bikes several hundred pounds lighter! :shock3:
  22. But na-na-na-na-boo-boo :rasberry::rasberry: I got one too!!! :dancefool: You are gonna love it.
  23. I LIKE that!!! Where didja get the flex lights?
