  1. I'm having trouble with mine too. It appears to be where the short cable meets the plug that hooks to the helmet. I got them from http://www.twowheelsound.com/ Guess I gotta call them, just never think about it 'til I'm riding........
  2. Looks like I may need to reinforce the mounting braces..... The good news is the $0.01 XXL cover will cover the sidecar too.
  3. When I bought my trailer and asked my Allstate agent about insuring it, he said there was no need as it was covered when attached to the bike. Well I went ahead and insured it against theft, anyway. Yeah a $250.00 deductible policy on a $400.00 trailer, but what the heck, the premium is I believe $14.00/ year.
  4. For a 5th Wheel, maybe he could modify the back like the 60s Studebaker station wagons, where the rear part of the roof slid forward! :stirthepot::stickpoke::stickpoke: :crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup::crackup:
  5. I think you are right. He has since, I believe, sold his bike. I don't remember his reason, but I do remember him saying he was leaving us.
  6. Not sure if there was a recall, but the plates and rubber cushions were added as "standard" on later models, for reinforcement.
  7. Professional Exterminator maybe???
  8. Boudreaux took his wife, Cloteele, to a dance down on the bayou, last weekend. There was a guy on the dance floor dancing like crazy – breakdancing, moonwalking, back flips, the whole works. Cloteele turns to Boudreaux and says “See dat guy? 25 years ago he propose to me and I turn him down.":) Boudreaux says,“Looks like he still celebrating." :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  9. A "SWAG" is liability???
  10. If the TD is like the RSV, you will find the speedometer will read 7% to 8% fast. When my speedometer says 80, the GPS says 73-74. third will get you a little over 90( by GPS) before the rev limiter catches you.
  11. My protected place is, I think , on one of the shelves in my storage room. Got the horn on both bikes and haven't even installed the plastic "L". So far in 3 years no problems.
  12. I have one and it is serving me well!!! I have added extra lights. I replaced the cheap "no good" OEM bearing somewhere around 12,000 miles. They still looked brand new. The cheap OEM tires have around 15,000 and are still not quite down to the wear bars. So all in all I'm pretty pleased with my $341.00 trailer!!! :cool10:
  13. Hey buddy, really sorry to hear this! The 4-legged children take a piece of our heart with them, which leaves a big hole. Never easy!!!
  14. Speaking of 8 track, is there anyone that can repair the 8 track carts? I have a ton of 60s music I'd like to transfer to CDs. The only problem is the rubber wheel in most of the carts has turned to a sticky mush.
  15. What size?
  16. We are about 1/2 way between Vogel and Texas, and we'll leave the light on for you here, too. Infact, we may even be willing to lead you here from Vogel... :cool10:
  17. I've been the HID route. Not a good experience. It failed and Canadian Cruiser Customs stiffed me on the warranty! I'm wondering about [ame=http://www.amazon.com/PIAA-10904-H4-Intense-White/dp/B000MG40QW/ref=pd_sim_auto_1]Amazon.com: PIAA 10904 H4 Intense White - H4 60/55W=135/125W Xtra Intense White Bulb, Twin Pack: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31E5YHnwdIL.@@AMEPARAM@@31E5YHnwdIL[/ame]

  19. Just my but @ 165 on the colder months the engine will be running too cool as it is designed with a 180 degree thermostat to run a minimum of 180.
  20. get a small flashlight and a mirror, so you can look down the tube to see where the end of the u-joint is positioned. Also put the transmission in gear, so the loose end of the u-joint won't move, as you attempt to plug the drive shaft in. Guess I was extremely lucky, but after knowing where the "target" was located, I stabbed it on the 1st try. :stirthepot: :rotf::rotf::rotf:
  21. At 5'6" with a 27" inseam, I can attest to the fact that the RSV will fall over for short folks. I have the front of mine lowered 1" and about an inch cut off the seat. With all that I still can just barely get both heels down on a level surface. If he is much shorter than I am, IMHO, I think he REALLY might forgo worrying about what "everyone" thinks and put some sort of "training wheels" on any bike as big and tall as a Venture! just my
  22. That is my understanding...
  23. If you are new to this/these bikes I would caution you that in most instances 5th gear is for 65mph plus on an open level highway. Anything under that you will be lugging and the bike WILL vibrate in protest. Around town in stop and go traffic I rarely get my '98 any higher than 3rd. BTW 3rd is good to about 96mph, indicated on your speedometer. That's where the rev limiter will catch it. Don't be afraid to hit the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd or 3rd, as it will not hurt this almost bulletproof V4. Now as for what the local LEOs will think about 96mph,THAT is at your own risk!!!
  24. Just to throw in a dumb question (but all here know I'm good at that:whistling:), but are you looking for a full blown trike conversion, or are you just wanting to put a "training wheels" kit on it? I think Voyager and Tow-Pac make kits that some members here have installed. Also What would you think of a sidecar option. I just installed one and so far like it.
  25. Hey cutting from the bottom CAN be done!!! In one of my OOPS moments, I managed to break the windshield off the bike. It broke through the center bolt holes. I have to admit it was a challenge, because of all the complex curves. I first drew a template on paper and just tried sliding it up an inch. I then cut the bottom off with a sabre saw and used my roto-zip to cut the slots. Well it didn't fit, so I had to freehand the slots to make them line up. Mine is a wide windshield, so it extends over the fairing a couple of inches on either side. it is interesting that when I cut 1" off across the bottom, I had to cut 1-1/2" off the extended part, or the windshield would not drop down far enough to bolt in. After I got it to fit properly, I used a small vibrating sander to "clean-up" all the exposed edges. My only regret is that I didn't make it a 1/2" shorter than I did. Maybe some day when I find another "round-tuit" i'll cut it again.
