Yeah it took a very BIG hammer to get mine to "slide" but once they did we tightened them down and they haven't moved since.

“Leveling Links”, and a few other “VERY proud new owner” questions …

If the rear is lowered, there is a good chance the front is lowered too. If that is the case, adding leveling links would raise the rear too high in relationship to the front. Don't know what that would do for the handling. -
I have one and love it!!! Yes it takes a little TLC when 1st setting it up, but well worth it. I've lost count on how many miles I have on mine, but have worn out 2 rear tires on the bike since I've had it and it was behind the bike most of those miles. The tires that came on the trailer are about ready for replacement. I have added numerous LED lights to the trailer and replaced the wheel bearings(they REALLY did NOT NEED replacing). Yes, it looks huge inside, until my wife starts loading her necessities!!!

When I got that error, I finally traced it to the connector under the passenger seat. It was like the wires should have been at least a silly millimeter longer, because I could almost not get the plug completely seated.

Carl, Is he at your hospital?

Yes it takes some amount of muscle to steer. It is not really THAT objectionable. The thing about changing the steering head angle is, as I understand it, a "one-way street". Once done the bike cannot safely be ridden as a two wheeler. At this point I'm not ready to permanently commit my RSV to a forever and ever sidecar bike. Even now I've had the sidecar off for several weeks so I can enjoy 2-wheels. Next trip with the wife, I'll hook up the hack.

I have done nothing to the front end on my bike. It took a little patience to get it right, but with the sidecar attached the bike (hands off) tracks straight down the road. It is however sensitive to the crown in the road. Steering on the other hand is pretty labor intensive!!!

A Simple Solution to prevent frustration....

Well Darn why didn't I think if that, I been using yellow 3-M to stick the spacers to the back of the bracket. It is WAY more immediate than silicone. -
I bought a Hopkins (cannot for the life of me find the package and the unit is in the box next to the CB) that is non-powered, so it has 5 wires on the bike end and 4 wires on the trailer end. It is different looking from any I've seen here, so far. It works very well. All the wires on it have markings which identify their function. When I installed it I didn't have Steve's handy-dandy break out harness, so I tapped in behind the license plate. ALL the lights on my trailer are LEDs. Don't remember which color from the bike went with which color on the adapter, but the output from the adapter matched the colors on the trailer wiring.

I'd be interested to see what ideas you may have on mounting a Velorex. Not sure what I have is the "best" idea...

I think the Velorex dealer must have "manufactured" these two brackets when they installed it on Rooster's '99. The bottom one (next to the rear brake master cylinder) looks to be one of the Velorex factory mounts. Both of the other bracket are held to the M/C frame with what looks to be muffler clamps. I think they are a little stronger than the run of the mill clamp. I had to have the rear bracket reinforced in the bottom bend.

We'll see how they hold up, but I just bought a couple of these. Ordered them Thursday night and got them USPS today. Not bad prices... http://www.gbcarparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=LT-LED1157R
