All the employees that work on any type of comercial vessel, towboats, supply boats, ships ect..., have had to get them. It is a true "knee jerk" reaction to the actions of terrorists that come in from other countries.. And to add insult to injury, all truck drivers, railroad workers, and airline employees will someday have to have them as well. I work on a towboat and a lot of our repair people have already bitten the bullet and gotten them. If they dont have one, they have to be escorted at all times that they are aboard the vessel. The rules that go along with this totally stupid law just goes on and on.. Personally I believe it is just the first step in requiring a nationwide ID program... :yikes:
  5. This subject is just a little too deep for my shallow mind...
  6. That is a Tale that I have heard many time and has been "seen" in many different forums. Sadly, while it is not true, our society has come to the point where that type of reaction may become necessary for our continued existence. With home invasions getting more frequent, I sure am leaning toward the idea that "a shotgun, used properly, WILL deter repeat offenders". Just my 2 cents worth and not intended to offend anyone.....

    Why?

There are no answers, only the search for them. :confused24:
  8. There is such a thing as too much coffee?????? :confused24:
  9. But would you throw yourself in front of a runaway ICE CREAM TRUCK???? :confused24:
  10. A diode is simply a check valve for electrical current. It would not reduce the voltage nor would it stop an electrical pulsing. Lights burn at a predetermined brightness so I'm not sure what kind of pulsing you are experiencing in your lights. Pulsing could be from using a circuit that does not have a large enough gauge wire in it. That would result in low amps being delivered to the lights. AND you could be seeing the first signs of regulator failure... (I'm opting for the light gauge wire in the circuit...)
  11. Sorry Dude, but it's a dead battery. The lead link between a couple of the cells has opened up. It will still read voltage through the acid, but it will not carry any amps. You could have it load tested to make sure if it would make you feel better.
  12. Sigh,, His loss, not ours. But it's a sad waste of a dang good motorcycle.
  13. Beer 30 The older I get, and hopefully wiser, I have learned that is so vitally important to take care of yourself first. And that is just what you are doing. I hope things do slow down for you some so that you can ride, but it is wonderful to hear that you are able to prosper in these rough times. Get through this rough patch and please, HURRY BACK. I, for one, miss your wit and humor.
  14. I finally "encouraged" my buddy to send in his $12 by callling him a tightwad. He even had to go to lunch with b2dad to be sure it was the "right" thing to do. Of course him saving a bunch of money AND getting to have lunch with a new friend convinced him that it was worth it. Sorry Chuck, Just had to do it. :stickpoke:
  15. You mean all you did was scrape the floorboard?????? :confused24: Heck, my road pegs are ground down on the ends... :shock3: :stickpoke:
  16. That is TOTALLY AWESOME Dude... :sign green with env
  17. Monsta Spray it good with a liquid penetrating OIL to wash out the dried up grease. Be sure to work the stand up and down several time to get the gunk out of the pin. Then reapply a spray OIL. Since WD 40 is NOT a lubricant, I try to stay away from it when I can. (I'm saying this and I have 2 cans of it on the shelf in my garage) Hope this helps.
  18. She thinks the Harley is a "BIG" bike. :rotfl: She would dress out about that I think.. And as to the other "idea" about size. I must be getting old cause it never occured to me... :bang head:
  19. Yesterday I had a female friend ask me what "size" the Venture was. I explained to her that it had a 1300cc engine. She said "Oh, that's small enough for me to handle". I told her that it was a VERY heavy bike. She then proceded to inform me that she had she motorcycle license and said "The weight doesn't matter, as long as it has a small engine, I can handle it". :bang head: I didn't even bother to waste my breath trying to explain the difference. Needless to say, she WILL NOT ride it. :no-no-no:
  20. Check the emergency kill switch...
  21. Oh she won't mind as long as you find her some hunky waiters to check out too...LOL
  22. Is NOT throwing a dog into that hunt...
  23. That's even better... More riding.. and what's this about pimping out Riderduke??? DANGGGG. if I had known that you was gonna set your help up with the waitresses, I would have got off the boat early and come on down.. :stickpoke:
  24. It works great.
  25. I love it... It used to make my brother sooo mad when I would let him take off and get a good lead, then BLOW HIM AWAY. All I would say is "it's only got 1300 CCs". :stickpoke: After a lot of growling and moaning on his part, I finally told him the story and HP of the engine. He was sick. Even though he was a wrencher all his life,, he never knew that Harleys were so over rated and underpowered. Of course my buddy that rides the Roadstar, which could take the Road King, hates me too.
