  1. Dave, you are just special.... :stirthepot:
  2. This is so true, but a picture, or video, is worth a thousand words. Or in this case dollars... I will continue to buy Wix for my equipment.... Dray, thanks for posting this....
  3. Any good quality coolant will be just fine. I buy the full strength, then dilute it 50/50 using distilled water. That is the only thing I do differently from my automobiles...
  4. Thanks for the reality check Squid...

Larry, where do you live? I live in Hopkinsville and shop up at Whittakers quite often. Good prices and great service. Maybe we can hook up, check out the guns, then ride to a meal. Later...
  6. There are great unvented gas heaters available. The best source of info is often times the local gas company. I just read your last post about not being able to go out the roof and had a thought. My sister has a gas heater that is installed in the basement, then has a small vent on the side of the house just under the first floor. If you have the room above ground level this might be an option..
  7. If you decide to stay with gas, you could run a new "chimney" using a 3" metal, double wall, vent pipe out the roof. This has been used for years with very little, or no, problems at all. The 3 inch vent pipe is inexpensive and lasts 20 to 30 years. I have installed it myself when I added a utility room and relocated the gas hot water heater. There are also unvented gas heaters available. The best source of info is often times the local gas company.
  8. If you can find a good quality 90W oil in the GL 3-4-5 listing, use it. That oil will take care of any type of gears you may encounter. The most important thing is good quality oil and regular maintanence...
  9. Sorry to bust your bubble, but you will NEVER get all of the old oil out. And that is the same for any engine you change oil in. There will always be a small amount of old oil left behind. Just keep up the regular maintainance and let her roll.... It has worked well work for every engine ever made, so there is not really any reason to change it now...
  10. Sadly Larry, it was me.. LOL I think he was hoping for a hot looking blonde that needed a riding partner. :rotf: Big D, It was great to meet you,,, But you sure do need some VentureRider stickers on that ride so people will know you belong somewhere...
  11. Oh,, Its much easier to do if you have a Carbon 1 lift adapter with legs. The bike is much steadier on the jack and you can let it down on the stand while you having the tires changed.....
  12. Front tire removal is very easy. Once you have the bike safely on the jack, just barely take the weight off the tire. Then follow these steps. 1. Remove left and right brake calipers. Hang these fom the forks with a piece of wire so you wont strain the hose. 2. Remove axle nut. 3. Loosen axle pinch bolt 4. Remove axle bolt. Pay CLOSE attention to the placement of spacers. I leave my spacers on the axle bolt so I will have them in the proper order. 5. Raise bike up until tire will come out from under fender.. Reverse the process to reinstall. However, tighten axle pinch bolt AFTER you torque the axle bolt. The torque specs are in the Manual. If I've left anything out, someone will chime in and tell you....
  13. I'm curious, what does a new one cost?? :mo money:
  14. Boss, you go have your fun and don't worrry about anything at home. We will behave, and Mini can even be the Hall Monitor...
  15. For safety's sake, I would replace the bolts with new ones.. Just a thought.
  16. You are carrying way too many clothes.. LOL

All the employees that work on any type of comercial vessel, towboats, supply boats, ships ect..., have had to get them. It is a true "knee jerk" reaction to the actions of terrorists that come in from other countries.. And to add insult to injury, all truck drivers, railroad workers, and airline employees will someday have to have them as well. I work on a towboat and a lot of our repair people have already bitten the bullet and gotten them. If they dont have one, they have to be escorted at all times that they are aboard the vessel. The rules that go along with this totally stupid law just goes on and on.. Personally I believe it is just the first step in requiring a nationwide ID program... :yikes:
  19. This subject is just a little too deep for my shallow mind...
  20. That is a Tale that I have heard many time and has been "seen" in many different forums. Sadly, while it is not true, our society has come to the point where that type of reaction may become necessary for our continued existence. With home invasions getting more frequent, I sure am leaning toward the idea that "a shotgun, used properly, WILL deter repeat offenders". Just my 2 cents worth and not intended to offend anyone.....

    Why?

There are no answers, only the search for them. :confused24:
  22. There is such a thing as too much coffee?????? :confused24:
  23. But would you throw yourself in front of a runaway ICE CREAM TRUCK???? :confused24:
  24. A diode is simply a check valve for electrical current. It would not reduce the voltage nor would it stop an electrical pulsing. Lights burn at a predetermined brightness so I'm not sure what kind of pulsing you are experiencing in your lights. Pulsing could be from using a circuit that does not have a large enough gauge wire in it. That would result in low amps being delivered to the lights. AND you could be seeing the first signs of regulator failure... (I'm opting for the light gauge wire in the circuit...)
  25. Sorry Dude, but it's a dead battery. The lead link between a couple of the cells has opened up. It will still read voltage through the acid, but it will not carry any amps. You could have it load tested to make sure if it would make you feel better.
