"Nightmare at a dealer" or "Lawrenceville Honda/Yamaha, you suck!"
Steve S replied to Guindalf's topic in Watering Hole
You done right dude, but I don't think I would have been as nice as you were. I would have at least spilled my Coke across the salesman's desk (after I talked about the owner's family tree that didn't branch) and on the nice carpet, for wasting 5 hours of my time. Then I would have had to explain just exactly what I thought of him trying to gouge me for 200 bucks. And do all of this while maintaining a Christian attitude(that's the hard part). We have a similar situation at home. JPM Motorsports, our Yamaha/Victory dealer, will do anything they can to help people. The Honda/Kawasaki dealer doesn't care if your ride sits for 3 weeks waiting on an oil change. I hope you have better luck with the next one you visit.- 39 replies

08 is running fine now
Steve S replied to Sleeperhawk's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
That is great news Sleeperhawk. It's good to hear that not all dealers are "stealers". -
Beer, that is just way too cool dude. You are one heck of a fabricator. But one problem, I didn't see the cooler. By the way. You have a PM.

Seeings hows I live on the Ky, Tn border, I would be more than glad to participate in a trailer relay... TO MY HOUSE!!!!!!

Brother, there is NO pressure on you at all...

Yeah, what she said.

Reiny, the Warden said she will send you a check for 3 more tickets, BUT you have to promise her faithfully that SHE will have the winning ticket. She says that you should just send the gift certificate right on down. If for some reason you should accidently give her the wrong tickets, I would head for higher ground, for she has the temper from HELL!!!!(She says she dont fool around unless it's to her benefit.):stirthepot:

If your switch is getting that hot you may be running too much amprage through it. Do you have ALL of your accessories on seperate circuits with relays? If not that may be your problem. Most all ignition switches used now are very light and any new circuits need to be put on a relay and not run through the switch. Oh, you will need to change that switch. It's gonna fail on you. Probably sooner than later.

After checking out the link in the message above, I have a really, really stupid question here. If the moderators think it is too sensitive, please delete it. Why would a "White Bike Week" be considered prejudiced and racist, and a "Black Bike Week" not be?????????? I'm not trying to start any political debates, but it has always bothered me that some groups can advertise this way and others can't.

HELP>..RSTD Fuel smell
Steve S replied to drumfire's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
This may be a REAL stupid idea,:bang head: but check the vent hose coming off the tank. Make sure it is open. Not crimped or stopped up. I think it comes out under the left lower fairing. I was reading these posts and the idea came to me that maybe pressure is building up somewhere??? Like I say, it may be a total waste of time.- 18 replies

I have never been to MB and really don't care to go. With their attitude toward bikers, I can think of a lot more places to spend my money. I have done the "Sturgis" thing and have no desire to try that again. Now Daytona I enjoy. It seems to be spread out enough to be able to get around to the different vendors and shows. The crew that I go with is usually in bed by 9:00 so we sleep through the rowdy times. I do have a question about the Atlantic Beach Rally. I have never heard of it. Where is it held, what group sponsors it and who attends?

Sorry about the bike Eric, but I sure am glad you and the girl are OK:thumbsup2:. The bike can be fixed up just fine and with a little TLC, it will never know it was wrecked. Good luck with finding the parts.

I heard this rumor but have never checked to see if it is true or not. (The Warden said she would check it out for me:innocent:). The rumor stated that bikers with loud pipes were try to compensate for being lesser endowed. :stirthepot: That being said, I can't stand to ride a bike with loud pipes:no-no-no:. It hurts my ears and gives me a pounding headache after just a few miles.

Pilot. I don't believe there is a site with instructions for installing the risers. However it is fairly easy. I will try to explain it for you. First remove the chrome caps over the riser bolts. (I used my fingernails for this, but you may need a very small screwdriver or a pick). Next remove the 4 bolts that hold the riser caps on, making note of where the dot is on the riser caps. Raise the handlebars enough to get the risers in, then replace the caps using the longer bolts supplied in the kit. (Remember where the dots went?). Adjust the handlebars and then torque the bolts to spec. (23 ft/lbs, I think). When the handlebars are moved out you may have to pull some slack in your cables or even reroute your throttle cables to keep them from binding. I didn't have to reroute. I was able to get enough slack by just giving a strong tug to get them to pull through the holders. I hope this helps.

Great looking pics there Dennis. I can't wait to get out there and see if for myself. The wife and I are leaving on June 28th from W. KY for Taos NM, then Page AZ. After a couple of days at Page we are going to wander our way up through Utah, then into Colorado to the Denver area before heading home. Our plan is to hot-shot to Amarillo TX, then take 2 lane roads the rest of the way to Denver. I just hope we can come up with some pics as nice as yours.

Cindy I just cannot imagine any company woud want an employee to show up while they were taking narcotics. I don't know what he is taking, but Loritab and Percoset are both narcotics. If he were to just fall asleep and fall out of the chair they would be liable for more than just a couple of days pay. I would call and beg the doctor to rewrite the order explaining that Gary was taking narcotics. (Of course you HAVE to talk to his nurse first, hence the brownies)(Nurses run on chocolate). Good Luck.

Cindy. With both of my surguries I noticed an increase in the pain level after the meds from surgery wore off. Also I was feeling froggy and tried to move around a little more. I had to take Percocet until I started seeing little animals on the walls. LOL If he is taking strong meds he sure doesn't need to be driving ANYWHERE, much less to work. I can't imagine an employer want to take that kind of liability by making him show up for work, then sit in a chair for 8 hrs. Can we say STUPID :bang head: here??? I bet his doctor could override that order. I have found that brownies help with doctor bribes.

I'm glad to hear that Dale is doing so well. He is bouncing back very fast if he is on the couch already. With my first surgery I slept in the recliner for 12 weeks. But it pretty bad. The doc tried to fix it with a scope, but couldn't so they had to open the shoulder up. That adds a lot of time to the recovery. Tell him we will continue to pray for him AND you, if you grab his shoulder again. Thanks for the update.
