Bought a millinium in 2006 with 13000 miles on it, worked alot of hours in the summer then so didnt put many miles on it at first. The second year I had it I hit a dear and insurance company totaled it. I bought it back because it only had 20,500 miles on it and I figured it was worth rebuilding. It sat for a year as I looked for parts, I found another millinium that a member here was selling for 5k. Im sure some remember that. High milage- had 103k miles on it.Bought it in georgia, but when I got it home the bike was still so tight and well maintained that I started driving it and the first Millinium sat In the garage for another couple years. When we decided to leave Michigan and move to Nc, we just didnt have the room for it. So That bike I sold and eventually became the Frankenstien bike, and you all know the rest of the story there. Ive added alot more to my second Millinium and she now has 122k miles. Still rides like a dream.

Well spent the weekend looking and I agree, got to have the extended cab at least. Tuff tho finding a honest deal. Test drove a nice quad cab dodge hemi that I really liked, but it just wasn't a good deal. It was a 04 and was asking 17k for it-they came down to 15 but they raped my trade in. Then the finance department didn't wanna go over 3 year loan on it cuz it was a 10 year old truck. Which put the payment just under $600...I don't wanna go that high just yet. Were gonna keep looking, but I can take my time, not gonna jump into a bad deal.. I hope. ( I suck at buying vehicles) I really do like the avalanche and Ive looked at a ton of them. And yours does look nice Eck. I may be interested, if I don't find something closer.

Anyone have any comments or advice on 2006 gmc/chevy 1500 pickup? My last truck was 1999 gmc seirra, loved that truck and want to get another. Always bought 4x4 living in Michigan but here in N. Carolina I think Ill get my first 2 wd. Dont see a need for it really. Thinking maybe a extended cab, but dont really need much extra space. Cab n a half or quad cab would be a waste. Just me and the wife and a big golden retriever these days. Buddy says dodge makes a good truck now but Ive always been a gm man- dont think I can look at them or fords- no offense to anyone- just what I like. Any feedback would be appreciated. 2006 is ruff too- just saw one I like- may be newer or older- just wanna stay around 80 to 100 k miles or less and under 15 k

front brake repair

i had some ruff spots around my pistons too- near where the seal rides. I used 1000 grit and wet sanded it-- only going across ( or around the piston) to clean these-- never sand oppisite way of a seal- ya dont want any little scratches passing under where seal will ride. I also used a light film of greese on seals to place them in there pockets- but just enuff to make em slippery and wiping all excess off -
That looks like it would be a very big safety mod. I drive in heavy traffic in a big city and I think that could really be helpful. Im thinkin I want one too

The one that Bob posted is the one we have at work-- ours has a light mounted on it with a flex stem so ya can bend it and see inside when the lid is open. Other then that its the same thing- and works great. Just a tub that mounts on a 30 gallon barrell

Ok I have to give you a lil background on this one. My real full name is Hazen Leroy Holmes, no Im a american and Im white, its a weird name I know and Ive heard all the jokes about it. My mom came up with it by naming me after both my granddads. Well as you can guess- I have never ever had a problem with anyone having the same name as me. But about 10 , 12 years ago, I got the strangest e-mail- was from Hazen Leroy Holmes to Hazen Leroy Holmes. The first thing I thought is how did I do that? But the more I checked I found out that it was from way up in canada somewhere. And the guy was asking me if I had got some of his e-mail cuz he had been getting some of mine. Well I had to call this guy up to believe it and sure enough he did exsist, AND He named his son Hazen and his son named his son Hazen rofl I couldnt believe it. Since then the name has become more popular, I even have a nephew now with the exact same name.

Great news! Take good care of her and make sure she gets lots of rest.

Use a rag to get the bulb out incase it breaks in your fingers-- if it does break-- then its real easy- just grab it with some needle nose plyers. On the o-ring idea- i found that ya cant use smaller ones and glue together to make a big one to fit- the natural curve is just too much of a fight to get it to stay put to get it back together.... But if ya can find o-rings bigger then the lense and cut them down to size-- it works great-- I used o-rings off of big oil filters for semi trucks here at work, but they need to be the right size in diameter too-- dont try to squeeze a fat one in there
-
my gaskets are junk too-- just bought clear lens im gonna put in this weekend. I was thinking maybe I would make my own- using large rubber O-rings-- you can take a o ring and cut it with a razor, and add more or less o ring and reglue it with crazy glue. Not a good idea for high pressure uses but may work for this. will let ya know after the weekend

opinions on adding chrome goodies?
Hazenson replied to baylensman's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The front fender chrome piecewill fit without removing the emblem, I never put the top racks on the bags because it seems I wouldnt actually use it, stuff there may be in the way of the passenger. I may add it one day tho anyway just for looks. Trunk rack may be hard to custimize your self to meet those curves in the trunk. Just my 2 cents -
Prayers sent to you and her, hoping and praying all goes well

Thats great, glad to hear she's riding!

I work for U.P.S.. And I can tell you from experiance, even tho people have been known to follow our trucks around and steel packages when dropped. Our guys try very hard to make sure the packages are left in a safe place. Usually a well lit area and very close to the door. Looking at those pictures, I cannot imagine one of our guys dropping a package off that far from the house or that close to the road. Possible it was a new guy, but even then we have a very rugged training program and even 30 year vets are required to go over policy procedures weekly. I know this is a fact because that is part of my job. UPS is 106 years old this year, and they do every thing they can to do a good job for their customers. Contact them and Im sure they will do all they can to help if ya need them to
