I had a ST1300 and the wife refused to ride it based on looks. I'm more comfortable on longer rides with my feet forward and leaning back on my backrest. If I could afford it I'd have two m/c's, my HD and a sport tourer. They're a lot of fun and enjoyed the ST on short trips.

What's gonna be interesting is the huge population growth from 1940's to the 60's (baby boomers) are now starting to retire. That's a huge amount of tax payers leaving the work force. Interesting how long it will last before the whole system collapses. The upside is all the job oppurtunities they will leave open for a lessor/younger work force.

I just can't bring myself to watch it....after watching honey boo boo. Thank the Lord they're not from Louisiana. After all we have Swamp People, Cajun Pawn Stars, Swamp Loggers, Sons of Guns, Billy the Exterminator, Bayou Billionaires, Duck Dynasty and My Big Redneck Vacation.

I have to ask, did you ask WHY? Just saying.... if you never ask you'll never know. -
Fishing gear, hand guns, assault rifle, shoot guns, hunting rifle, camping gear, and a place to go and get away from the masses. Like most agree, you'll need to be self sufficient for atleast a month after that you'll need to form alianses for long term survival. I think hoarders will be attacked by their neighbors by the third week if they're living out of their homes.

Tragedy in Conn.

Hopefully we never experience what happened at the Beslan school massacre in Russia in 2004 where appr. 186 children were killed. Different scenario, but could easily happen here. I went through a three day active shooter course several years ago and the intel then was the possible scenario of several large scale attacks nationwide to draw mass hysteria. Now the trend seems to be suicide attacks. I feel for all those involved in Ct. from the parents to those behind the scenes. -

FWI, over the past several months I've tried Seafoam in every tank (1 oz per gallon) then STP (3/4 oz per gallon) in pure gas by the recommended amounts per product. For me, I've noticed the engine ran smoother and consistently got better fuel mileage with the Seafoam. Prior to Seafoam, I avg'd 40 mpg and with seafoam got a high of 45 mpg. The best I got with STP was 42 mpg. The primary reason I use an additive is the unbranded gas our bulk plant sells has no additives in it like Techron and a tank of gas may last two weeks. I had read a post a while back where the author suggested he got better fuel mileage with Seafoam and after running both products, I would have to agree. Maybe there's a better benefit to STP vs Seafoam, but from an operator's stand point I'm not seeing it.

Your right, I've been trying to kill a sweet gum for years and I'm starting to think it makes it grow faster!

Or as some do...drain it on some weeds. La hasn't really caught on to the whole recycling idea. We pollute everything!

My step dad just got himself a '12 F150 with the ecoboost. Very impressed with the torque and power it has. I just wished my state issued '12 Tahoe had its get up and go. For all the heaters...I say if a man afford it then enjoy it. You only get one go round. Nice truck!

Last time I was there, the city comes thru every morning with street sweepers and pressure wash the streets. They really put an effort to keeping it clean. Now during the night, it can get pretty bad during the festivals.

2nd the Marriotts and Sheraton...there's also a Holiday Inn that's ok, but your gonna spend $90-130 and for the $ I stay at the Marriotts. I personally prefer to stay within walking distance due to the traffic and lack of parking if they make me go down there! There's a lot of neat stores and good restaurants in that area, too.

I agree, he's has the loud pipes on his, but he says he can hear it. Not sure what other moods he had done to it.

Question? HD recommends either 91 or 92 octane, but mine runs fine on 87 with no noticeable sounds of knocking etc. Primarily that's all our bulk plant sells without ethanol. Mine is stock with the factory mufflers. I noticed while running either 89 or 93 I get some faint popping on deceleration, but not on 87. Now a cousin says he cant run 87 due to fuel knocking on his HD. So I guess its a two part question...why does it affect one and not another? Or does it take a couple of tanks for the ecm (what ever you call it) to adjust for the difference in fuel? Or is that a myth too?

Curious what a fair rate is to take off the rear wheel on a HD Roadking and swap the pulley and rotor on to another wheel and reassemble. Essentially the same amount of work to replace a rear tire. I know shop rates vary, but a reasonable amount for the southern region?

I had the same problem when I traded my 06 RSTD MIDNITE. I tried selling it for six months or so on several difference websites and NEVER got a call or an offer and was asking around 6k. I finally gave up and traded it for $5300. The deal maker for me was the independent dealer sold me his mc on the low side of retail, so it didn't hurt quit as bad. Except your situation is different. But for whatever reason people just aren't interested in the RSTD like they are with the RSV.

Try your Ford dealer. I normally wouldn't suggest the dealer, but when I replaced the tires on our Edge I got the best price with them vs tire rack and other Internet sales.
