1. It may not be totally full proof, but makes for an easy solution of securing it to the bike. I found this gun lock works great, it's a perfect fit and its coated in rubber to prevent scratching.
2. "Since Freightliner bought them.". I think that's the problem. Did a dot insp on Clint Bowyer's nascar transport, 2011 Frieghtliner, and the a/c wasn't working. Bad part was it was a rental because their main tractor had broke down, go figure.
3. Wasn't there a time when the locals would have burned it down?
4. It's probably better they didn't see it....those that tense up usually sustain more injuries.
5. I could understand not having ac parts in the winter, but not in dead of summer. Unless there's like a dozen different motors and compressors out there in use.
6. Not trying to be sarcastic, but if someone is injured by that....I would have to, "bs".
7. That explains why some are saying they're getting into the 40's on fuel mileage....combined with a fast odometer.
8. We found that 3/4 helmets with face shields worked best for us due to the wind hitting the mouthpiece etc, probably the same with a full face.
9. The wife has decided she wants a jet ski. I have know clue bout what size to get, are they like mc's where bigger is better. Fuel usage, how long you can ride. And maintenance. And used ones....how can you determine if it's been abused or can you abuse one other than running into a stump or dock. Thanks in advance...jc
10. Mine was 2-3 years old when I got it. I'm not worried bout it, besides it sat in a warehouse out of the weather and within two years it'll be worn out.
11. Here's custom dynamics' 100 with a Whelen TIR 3 led...pictures really don't do it justis.
12. Mine did the same thing...I had it on to large of setting for picture size. It should be on S 640 x 480.
13. Guess I'm different...active duty for six years and i still benefit from what I learned and what was instilled in me (15 years ago), but it was a job and a way of life that I don't miss nor hate. While everyone ran to get tattoos I was content to have a beer and listen to the ole timers tell their sea stories and doing my job. When my enlistment was up it was over and life moved on. With most agencies/branches there's a certain amount of propaganda to encourage people to do their best and instill self sacrifice.
14. The rear wheel is a pain...I still wash roll forward n wash n roll n wash (probably the hard way)
15. For those that wear earplugs, I've been wearing these now for the past couple of months and really like them better than anything else I've tried. They're not as dense as the typical yellow foam earplugs and after riding all day my ear canals aren't sore. I can hear the intercom very well without all the engine/road/wind noise. I found them near the pharmacy in Wal-mart.
16. What is color tuning?
17. I'm looking at putting a fairing on my rstd. If I do I'll need to figure out how to mount my lowers. Looking at the brackets diamondR sells, do they mount to the turn signal bar and would this work on the rstd if so do I need other parts to make it work?
18. Since this is such a common problem...what if I installed the lighted spark plug caps? That way at a glance I would instantly know if they were all firing at any time or condition. Has anyone ever installed these and are they reliable. Jp cycles part #3800382.
19. I love the 100 led tail/brake lamp from custom dynamics...they're bright and have not had any of the leds go out. I also purchased the inspection sticker plate from jp cycles (part # 600-447) and mounted a Whelen TIR3 led strobe to it. Programmed it to burn steady for an additional brake lamp. It's awesome, if someone runs into the back of me while stopping there's no way they can say they didn't see me and its a clean seatup. Most TIR3's run about $50, I got mine from VLSUSA.com
20. No sir...
21. Thank you....
22. Alleman cycleplex in Shreveport did mine this past February for $250. On the receipt they showed 3.85 hrs.
23. Question....after the dealer did mine, it felt tighter if that makes sense and I never noticed the engine heat till afterwards. Could be me or is there any merit to how I feel it's running. The power is still there, it just doesn't feel as freed up as it had prior. Fwiw the mechanic stated one or two were out of spec.
24. Looks sharp, after test riding a late model fjr I didn't like the low dash and lack of wind protection from the windshield. If they correct those issues I'd definitely consider one. Still want a st1300. Then again I got to sell my rstd, starting to think I couldn't give it away.
25. I wish it was jacket wearing weather down here in La, 104 degrees on the back porch in the shade today (confirmed by two thermometers).
