  1. Now they look nice Now all you need is a big roll of bubble wrap for the rest of the bike
  2. In between each try Quickstep whacked around the tire with his big rubber mallet, to ensure it beaded well Leg still giving me pain, but find out on the 28th if the fixator comes off. Hey Boomer, don't you fancy eatin' cheesacake "down under" Annie.......who thinks that would be "down under" the table so's no one else got any!
  3. Quickstep got the C/T onto my wheel today. Took seven goes, and nearly 100psi. Just needs a balance and all is good.
  4. Well, tell him I said hello..and will look forward to his company on here again soon:thumbsup2:
  5. Please tell him thank you from me:happy34: My children and grandchildren have wonderful opportunities because of brave men like him.
  6. AARRGGHH!!!! GOING DOWN :yikes: OUCH!
  7. Decided to go to the darkside with the Quike...and the Kumho is "as rare as hens teeth" over here. Tire shop found one in the warehouse, and only one in the state!! It's now mine.
  8. We currently have the series "Pacific" on over here and it made me realise once more how lucky we are on this big island that while our boys were away fighting the germans in Europe, U.S. forces "had our back" fighting the japs on Guadalcanal and other places. If they had got to our resources, and cut supply lines for the U.S. fleet.....I would have lived ??? a whole different life! So, from one very grateful aussie....thank you to your fathers, uncles, grandfathers, and any who served. :clap2:
  9. All the best for the fund raiser.....children are the future!!
  10. Yep, that extra wheel can still be fun :cool10: Just remember which one you are on for the "foot down or not" motion
  11. Hey Boomer, a drool catcher is called a bib!!! Maybe you could wear one with the VR logo on it Annie.................ducking, as Boomer throws the pie.:duck:
  12. Was happy to pay them, but they said no, as it was a favour for the tire store. So sent packets of Tim Tam's for their morning tea.
  13. I have a headlight protector that velcro's on...and would highly recommend it for long trips. Cheaper than replacing the headlight!! Don't know if it's any help but got mine from http://www.amhp.com.au
  14. Purchased a Kumho Powerstar and then it began........ Tire shop couldn't fit my rear rim on their machine! Friend drove tire down to bike shop [doing favour for tire shop] Back to tire shop to inflate correctly. Back to bike shop to balance tire on their machine -- discover that tire isn't on rim properly! Bike shop said leave it with them and they will try [inbetween other servicing] to get it to bead correctly. Tire there for two days, but can't get it to bead!! So now I have asked Quickstep if he can take it to work and see if the truvk tire fitter can bead it on with his more powerful machine. Just hope all this hasn't distorted the tire????
  15. :clap2: to Dave 0317 :clap2:
  16. :bawling::bawling: With the time difference, the target will have been got Or, if I set the target, I can get it a day ahead of ya
  17. All the best Ben, and hope it's not long before you get to replace the scoot. Can't ride at the moment, but knowing "Dottie" is outside waiting for me to go ride is what keeps me motivated.
  18. As most of you know I had a bad accident nearly two and a half years ago, and I'm still wearing a fixator on my leg and awaiting more surgery. Riding with my man [Quickstep] has always been something that means a great deal to me. Our trips away on the bikes over the years have given me such wonderful memories. Do I still ride?? YOU BETCHA!! LIFE IS FOR LIVING. When I'm old and grey, sitting in a corner drooling--there will be a smile on my face 'cause I'll be remembering all my adventures with Alan and the memories we made. If you trust your partner [and GOD] then what will be, will be. Can't wrap yourself in cotton wool and sit home "just in case" You can only control so much..........wear safety gear always, pay attention when riding, maintain the bike -- and enjoy. But if you have some fear when riding with a pillion, instead of being relaxed, then that is when your reaction may be altered!!! All down to TRUST
  19. Please thank your son for his service. May all serving men and women stay safe and return home soon. "Lest We Forget":australia:
  20. Prayers sent up for young Jameson. And Ben, nerve pain is the worst pain you will ever feel!!! So don't be too hard on yourself okay. Some days it will just plain wear you out. Sending a card
  21. :fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo
  22. Quickstep tracked down a Kumho Powerstar to put on the rear of my quike.....and it was the ONLY one here in Perth!! The dealer found it in the warehouse, strange they only had one. Said they use them on old VW cobie vans.
  23. Hey Ben, Hope you find a nice one! Do you know where your recently departed bike will go I'm looking for a 2nd hand radio/intercom control unit.....and thought I would just ask
