My plan is to join the group.

This has been one of the coldest winters with the most snow in many years around here. A few hours north of me, the insurance companies are talking about the huge number of cabin roofs that caved in from so much snow. Here in Toronto area, like Marcarl says, we have warmer weather with some rainr. Been riding for a few weeks Sure feels good!

Hey, Chaharly, not sure this will help you but others may be interested in this info. Was recently at the International Superbike Show here in Toronto and chatted with an airline company who had a booth to promote their bike shipping option. What they do is ship bikes from - to airports they serve. No crating. The bikes are just strapped in place. The price was similar to an airline ticket.

Thanks for posting this Ben. Definitely will attend if possible.

Would definitely like to join you and others that can make it for this ride Carl. However, we will be out of the country from Oct 5 to 21. Will check to see if, by chance, you do the ride when we can make it. If not, have a great ride.

Want to add my thanks to Paul and Mary for hosting this great event again this year. It was a great way for my wife and I to finish a four day ride which reminded us of how lucky we are - beautiful countryside, great friends and a VR that just keeps going. Sorry we missed Dogman, who had to leave before we were able to agent there

We mostly regret what we don’t do Condor —- and what is the downside. Likely not financial. Good luck?

Home safe and sound after a great rally with great people. Extra thanks to Carl, Marca and Don for all the work put into making this such a great event.

To Canuckian Land and beyond!! A 2018 MarCarl's VentureIn Video Exclusive!
Evan replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Enjoying your videos PUC. Just watched video # 4. Yes, it is the Queen Elizabeth Way, built around 1950. We had mostly cow paths before that. About the fuel, the issue is ethanol content which can be up to 10% here in Ontario. It's made from corn, burns like **** and damages seals etc. so some gas stations guarantee a lower or zero ethanol content in their higher octane (and higher priced) grades of gas. -
Hey Ben, I know as well as anyone how you feel about that bike which you had totally restored after it was written off and so, like others, I want you to know how sorry I am for you. So glad to hear that the damage was not extensive and even gladder to hear that neither you or your friend were hurt in the process. Good luck with your repair work. Carl has helped me change fork seals on both of my first gens which will take a good chunk out of a day overall. Keep us posted on your progress including whether you will be ready for the ride to Maintenance Day. Also, I would offer you the 86 for the weekend but I found out today that I need to replace the rear tire and likely won't be able to get that done before Friday.

She arrived Last Night

Good luck with the weather out there, and enjoy. I still think the 88 looks good, but I am a bit biased. -
Sorry I missed it too Bob but definitely want to add my belated birthday wishes for you. Apparently we all accumulate knowledge over the years so even as our brains don't work as well, we really do become wiser. Wish our bodies worked that way too.

Yammer Dan may have clear roads but frigid weather and areas so snow here in Ontario. Too cold to go sledding!

Best wishes to you Greg and good luck with your Venture in 2018. -
7th annual - WOW. Think I have made them all so far (this is aging me and the rest of us), and I sure look forward to this one. Just posted our attendance. Probably will make it to the bike show on Friday instead of Sat.

Had to miss last year due to grandkids visit. Trying to avoid that conflict this year and I have already posted my attendance.

Turned 70 today and it was a great day. It started with my two daughters wishing me a happy 70th. Then made it through an hour of "pump it up" class exercise. After that, my dear wife Anne and I rode the 88 to the Niagara area and enjoyed a great lunch at a Niagara winery. The weather was wonderful and we rode some more great roads before visiting my 92 year old mother. After that, we enjoyed a visit with a fellow Venturerider (Dogman) and his beautiful wife Bernie who fed us a wonderful dinner and more wine. Then, after riding back to Toronto at the end of the day, I see a thread started by Marcarl where fellow Ventureriders also sent best wishes. So, for sure, I'm happy at 70 on my 88.

Come one come all : Step right up and test your 1st Gen Venture knowledge!!

Hey Dan, sent you a PM. -
Rode over to Bongobob's yesterday with some fellow Ventureriders. Saw many trees down there. Bob said they have had 4 or 5 tornadoes go through recently. Amazing damage where they twitch down. Glad you did' experience damage to your place.
-
Glad you are able to tell this story Randy. My own accident last summer on my VR was caused by somebody making an illegal turn, and like you, I am lucky that the damage was not much worse. If I had been only a few feet further into the intersection, I probably would not be posting today. Each year I ride, I am more concerned about bad drivers on the road.

Where's the kryptonite?

Just talked to Annie and Al. I am picking them up at 1:00 for a visit at our place. Any and all are welcome to join us a bit earlier if you are able to.
