  1. Why not put the 83 front body on the 86? Same fairing.
  2. Been a member since 1989. Now a member of Ezekiels Wheels #707
  3. Diaphrams are all in right. Put my hand over the #2 carb while it was running and the RPM increased. I was working on body work today so didn't get a lot of time on the problem.
  4. Put diaphams and slides in this newly aquired 1986. Fresh gas and it fires right up. Will only run with the choke on until fully warm. Then will idle nice (after sync) but coughs and backfires when I give it gas. Any ideas for me to check out when I work on it again tomorrow?
  5. Ist gen parts. Top of the list.
  6. Here is a heads up. I'm stripping down a decent running 83 XVZ12. Body is poor. Luggage not to bad if your going to paint. I AM KEEPING ALL PARTS THAT WILL WORK ON A 1986. Motor has 37K and a good 2nd gear. No idea if it has ever been repaired. I have a set of Dunlop Cruisemax tires (blackwall) with only 1000 miles on them. Let me know what you want. I want to sell stuff here before I try to Ebay. Listed in Classifieds
  7. I'm a little confused by the firefly set up. Is it for am/fm also? do you have to change the mount? Do you have to change the cable?
  8. Yes I do. I'll check the condition this evening and get pics.
  9. I'll have one from an 83 soon. Just haven't had time to strip it yet.
  10. That's the problem I have. Can it be fixed?
  11. I need an antenna (radio/CB) for my first gen. Stock or even aftermarket will do. Where do I go for either?
  12. Colorrite only has Honda listed for 1986
  13. I just bought an 86VR. Is there any way to get the paint codes? I would like to do a little body work and paint the Bushtec to match.
  14. Is the hydraulic or electronic anti dive better? Will mrk 1 calipers go on a mrk 2?
  15. Slides/diaphrams to start with. How about coils, carbs, rearend, forks. I'm going to use my 83 for parts. So I want to tear it down, box it up, and keep the parts I can use.
  16. Put it on a charger. Just because it is new doesn't mean it is good. Charge it up with a charger, then see if it holds a charge before putting it back in the bike.
  17. On all my previous Gen 1's, I have run the Metzlers. They are outstanding, never a problem. I was a beta tester for the ML2. The bike I have now came with a new set of Dunlop Cruisemax. This set is excellent in the rain as is the Metzler. But when I run the corners on the edge of the tire ( a regular occurance) it does not grip as well as the Metzler. I will always get a Metzler for my Gen 1's.
  18. GET A LAWYER. It's the one thing that they are good for.
  19. I'm bumping this. No info? Really? I depend on you guys for this kind of knowlage.
  20. I may be picking up a 1987 Royale this week. I have only owned 1983's (5) till now. My question is how many parts are interchangable? Or, what is NOT interchangable? Are the diapham/slides interchangable? How about wheels/tires, brake lines, electricals etc.?
  21. Saddlesore 1000. 1020 miles in 18.25 hours.
  22. If you drive a Ford product, they have a system by Mobile Ease that connects to your current system. I have used it for 3 years and it is an excellent product. It is also voice activated.
  23. I know probably everybody knows this, but 1st gen pegs are adjustable.
  24. Thank you all. I'll just fill er up.
  25. Bought them. Thanx. I just hope that's the problem. The wires did need changing anyway.
