  1. Thanks, we will get the part (probably stealership) and attack it this weekend. I appreciate all the input, I knew I could count on this group.
  2. I would keep my 01 RSV for travel, looking at this for fun and possible "Rat" (like the one posted in another thread) someday...
  3. Canada to Texas...thats a world away:cool17:
  4. He's asking $2500, I'm thinking of trading my CBR for it. I'm probably getting the worst end of the deal but the 929 needs some fairing work. Like I said, I have not even seen the bike yet. Possible trade.
  5. I'm looking at an 84 with 23,000, don't know much else about it yet. Thats what I'm trying to learn here.
  6. I have read about the 2nd gear problem ... is this something that WILL happen or just likely? (like our 2nd gen rear shocks) My understanding is this is a complicated fix (engine removal) I would love to own a 1st gen but don't want a "money pit"
  7. I'm sure it is but I own 2 2nd Gens and am thinking about a 1st gen...
  8. I know this might be a question with many many answers like what oil, what tires, what this, or what that but here goes:witch_brew:...Is there a 1st gen year model that tends to be the most desireable? The most undesireable? I have read the history section explaining the breakdown between the year models and it seems like I have read a thread discussing this but can't find it now. The bike that Freebird found (89 SS) :cool10:sounds like the best built 1st gen but I'm talking about "in general" the 1200 vs the 1300 etc...
  9. Thanks Eck, is it a simple pull off, put on? Or is it more involved than that?
  10. My Son in Law has a 6 cyl. '03 3rd Gen. "standard" shift Dodge Ram P.U. . It will only start when the clutch pedal hits the "sweet spot" :detective:is this a neutral safety switch or the equivelant of it on a standard? Is this a DIY job? How much should it cost. Also, no codes a being shown. Any help would be appreciated!ough for me...I am also asking this on my Dodge Site but thought someone here might have had this same type of issue on a "cage":bighug:

  14. I orderd the non Yamaha ones on Ebay for $150, they are ok, but they are thinner. I think the Yamaha ones look better but the thinner ones did bend to parrallel the bags better.
  15. My favorite is the Harley R.K. exhaust mod in my RSTD!!! Second would be the Passing Lamps.

  18. I'm in for 1 ticket ... if you guarantee she'll make it to Texas:stickpoke: Just kiddin, very generous offer!!!
  19. We have a local shop that does all bikes (mostly H.D.'s) but have never given me any grief over my "Jap" stable... Kay's Motorcycle Mania charges $50 if the tire was purchased elsewhere but thats everything including taking off the bike and balancing. Then again, you can give good ol' Goose a call and it will only cost you a couple of beers!
  20. Nope, sold the 4-2-4's on ebay:mo money:. I did wind up putting on the R.K. pipes and Love them!
  21. Great looking ride, while I have owned a RSTD since 06, I just purchased an 01 Venture last week! I'm a few hundred miles south of you but if you ever get down to central Texas, look me up.
  22. Would you believe that Belton has now passed Temple in H.S. enrollment? We are in their District and are very competive in all sports including football!
  23. No, not the fast black, its the "slow" red and purple:sign07:Thats OK, I still have my CBR 929RR if I feel the need for speed,(I have had it to 179mph), Sold the Busa to get the Venture and had it to 185...
  24. :DYou were right Ponch! Now I have to add a buch of chrome, and buy some communication stuff for the intercom, which I know nothing about! I'll start doing some research before I begin a new thread. Thanks to all for the replies.
