  1. I had the same problem just after I purchased my (new to me) 01 RSV, turns out it was the bolt that holds the shifter...with a little "loctite" no more problems:thumbsup2:
  2. Great company and a super product but my wife does not like them as well as the floor boards. Our longest ride has only been a couple hundred miles since the install so I thaink she will have to get use to them.
  3. Ziegler, Hopkins, and Hayes don't have anything on you, any nibbles on the bike yet?
  4. Thanks for the update, keep us posted. Football is king down here in Texas!
  5. Wow, some sales pitch...in 25 years of sales that one never occured to me.
  6. I tried the Baron 4-2-4 Nasty Boys ...WAY too loud!!! I went to the Road Kings and LOVE them!!!
  7. It would only be about a 7 hour ride to work for me...
  8. I don't know what he did to it, I had the bike for 3 1/2 years without a single issue I basically told him that it was something he did, :buttkick:still would like to know what caused it.
  9. I just put a set on my 01 RSV and will try them out on a ride tomorrow with the wife:sun1:
  10. Sold "as-is" but just trying to point him in the right direction. Its good to know that a bike can be jumped off by a car, I have just never done it. Probably going to be hard to diagnose then...
  11. :97:Beautiful Bike! Welcome to the site, I would love to see picture of your trip...
  12. I sold my Honda CBR 929RR friday to a young man. :happy34:He called me last night and said the bike would turn over but was not getting any fire. :fiddle:He then told me that he had left the ignition switch on overnight and the battery was dead the following morning. With the advise of his buddy, he used a car to jump the bike but while it turned over, it never started. He then put the battery on a trickle charge overnight but it still will not start even just on bike battery. What did he mess up? Stater? Regulator? Ignition? Any input would be appreciated!
  13. Where can you get Ride-On???
  14. Thanks for the great story, It's important to keep in mind the resposibility and the joy that comes with riding 2 up. Please keep us up to date!!!
  15. Good to hear from you, enjoy and be safe!
  16. Best money ever spent! This site has more than paid for the $12.00 a hundred times over!!!
  17. Thanks for the "heads up" both mine were fair so I added some loc-tite and tightened them up...
  18. Glad your ok, sounds almost as exciting as your last trip...
  19. I have never bashed H.D.'s unless you consider paying 1/3 more for a product because of the Name-Badge on it is bashing. The H.D. owners who go out and purchase an entire wardrobe of logo appearel, bandannas, even trucks just because it says Harley Davidson on it or all of a sudden don't seem to have the ability to pick their hand up to wave or seem to have a sudden desire to hang out at bike nights every night of the week....them, yes I bash.
  20. And like this thread, I learn something everytime I log on! Thats why this site is the best value and most fun online...
  21. Had that happened on my wife's first ride it would have been her last. :scared:Her first ride on back was in Thailand winding through the jungles and mountains on a rented bike with no issues, well except me wondering why some fool was coming towards me in my lane...wait, it was me driving in the wrong lane! Now she is HOOKED!!!
  22. Goose helped me replace mine in the 01 RSV and fixed the problem completely! I am going to do this on my RSTD but will probably wait until warranty runs out.
  23. Be Safe!!! Have Fun!!! Send Pics!!!
  24. No problem P-man, I guess I knew going in there would be different opinions(thus the pot stir) the thread has been helpful on a number of levels, mainly the 2nd gear issue does not seem to bother me now and there are good points to each of the year models...
