Kind of an odd question to ask. Over head door is 18 X 10 and is starting to stick going down. What do you guys use to lube the rollers and rails? around here (in the country) you can do more harm than good depending on what you use. Its dusty here, so you cant have something that dirt will stick into. Also it is really cold, so you cant use grease. wd40 would attract dirt as well. Had a can of white lithium grease that is supposed to dry and not be affected by cold so I tried it. Helped the sticking issue. I sprayed the rollers themselves plus a few inches above them. Then I ran the door up and down a few times to lube the edges of the roller. Tried not to overdo it. Did I choose wisely, or am I looking for trouble later with the rollers gumming up?

My bike has the Harley Heritage handlebars on it. maybe it will give you an idea of the pullback. Also I am sure your bike has them, but HD makes a set of wind deflector that mounts on the crash bars under your fairing. They look like two plastic paddles. They deflect the air that comes up through your fairings open area that allows your handlebar movement. Also a definite must if they aren't on there. My stage one kit is a bit of a throw together. I have a Kuryakyn head pipe (non ceramic coated), Rush Big Louie slip on 4 inch diameter mufflers, TTS Mastertune tuner, and a HD Heavy breather air cleaner. I had a Kuryakyn air breather that I didn't like. It was a Kuryakyn package that I used my Rush pipes with. The Mastertune comes with pre programmed map, and with my Rush pipes it wasn't quite right. So I changed my air breather to the HD Heavy Breather (the Kury one hit my leg all the time) before I had to Dyno mine to make it right. Lots of guys run the Fuel Moto setup as freebird suggested. On the RG forum, another that is recommended is from Dragos. I wouldn't really recommend the Kuryakyn setup unless you use all the components. The guy at the HD shop that did my Dyno didn't like the TTS Mastertune either. He said it is an older version race tuner, and it is hard to dial in on the dyno. He said it is good, just hard to adjust if you have to do so. Now that it is done correctly it is awesome.

Sounds like fun is on the way! Our pudgy ball of white fur is just over 1 1/2 years old. He is an English Cream Golden Retriever. his parents weigh about 65 pounds, but Spaulding didn't inherit that from them. He weighs 96 pounds and s a complete blast. our previous dog Tippy passed at 17 years old, and Spaulding (named after Judge Smails's grandson in the movie Caddyshack) helped us get over the loss. ~

You better have snow tires, heated seat, heated grips, and an extra pair of gloves (the gloves is a reference to Dumb and Dumber's mini bike ride to Aspen) because its -3 degrees right now, and the wind chill is between -30 and -40 below right now. i'm even taking the weekend off from fishing..... I'm guessing I'm pretty safe on running out of brats right now. I don't expect too many bikers to show with this weather...... But I wouldn't put it past you Puc. The others have this thing called common sense :)

the lake is called Amsden Lake. Not a heavily fished lake, and not very big. Deepest part is 24 feet. I'm fishing 22. with early winter temps as warm as they were, you need to use caution. ice is just now 12 inches thick, normally closer to 20 by now. on Wednesday, I was first shack on the ice. since then 2 others have come on. Ice will improve rapidly this weekend with temps getting down into -35 wind chill. the last three state record Muskies have come from this lake. I think record is around 42 pounds. I've only seen 1 Muskie caught, but can imagine they are hard on the smaller fish species when it comes to feeding. he reason I go there is because its close to home, about 20 minutes from my house. Plus its not a developed shoreline with cabins and such. its quiet, and a guy can get away without a bunch of 4 wheelers and snowmobiles running around your shack while your trying to fish. if I don't catch much its ok, I'm in it for the relaxation.

if Puc shows up, I will break out the venison brats that are jalapeno cheddar flavored.........I'm betting that it would be a cold ride over on tweeks. the jalapeno cheddar cheese in the brats would warm him up some, but I might have to get him some hot chocolate with a small shot of schnapps to thaw him out.......

6 perch, 4 crappie just enough to keep her interested. I do have a little story to add My daughter Holli watched the movie Miss Congeniality. I like Sandra Bullock so I didn't mind watching at all. When it was over I told her it was my turn to pick a movie, and since you don't have school today, you get to have history class. I made her watch the movie Midway, one of my favorites. Either I am a horrible teacher, or she doesn't like history. she decided half way through that a nap was a better deal......

Quoting Burgess Meredith from Grumpy Old Men "Its Butt Cold and I'm fresh out of beer!". Riding is not an option for us northerners. So I built an ice shack to pass some time between high school basketball games this winter. Ice finally got thick enough to put it out last week. Last Friday my daughter didn't have school, so I took her fishing with me. Its the first time she wanted to go. Mostly because she knew I had a warm shack, not a flip over tent style shelter. Anyway she caught a few fish, wish we would've had some more bites. But she got to fish, eat hotdogs, and watch a couple of movies. That awesome feeling you get from riding bikes, this day was way BETTER......

Congrats on the bike! I love my RG Custom, and have done some simple mods that have helped the comfort level a lot. One of the best and cheapest that I've done is add some floorboard extensions. For me the boards were in too close to the frame, and my feet when placed comfortably on the boards, were half on the board and half riding over the outside edge. I ordered either 3/4 or 1 inch wide spacers and now my feet fall perfectly on the boards. Cost me about 30 bucks if I remember right. haven't noticed any problems with them either. It takes about 10 minutes to put them on too. I agree with Freebird. Get on Roadglide.org. You will get lots of ideas. You can save a lot of coin by doing so. Remember, somebody before you has had the same issues you will soon find. Might as well read about somebody's trial and error than pay for your own. when I come up with more stuff to help you out, I will let you know......

Supposed to get to -26 Saturday night.....might take a few days off from ice fishing

I've been away from the puter lately, doing some ice fishing. Sad that I missed out on such an opportunity. BUT....I am just going to throw this at ya so I can get my order placed for the next time the lottery goes nuts. Actually I have 2 options of which you may choose.... 1. Harley Davidson Road Glide Ultra CVO...... 2. keep my present bike, and make it so my wife will actually ride with me. If you could accomplish this one, I might just have some fresh fish for ya. I'd have to go to the store for the fish, but it would be freshly frozen. Notice I said I have been ice fishing, not catching.....

if all that stuff is in your garage, just have a maintenance day. Just think of it as having a garage sale by special invitation only.......

2015 riding season, what did you do for milage this year?
bj66 replied to Brake Pad's topic in Watering Hole
1000ish miles. Just when I was finishing up springs work on the farm, I took a less than graceful swan dive off of the tractor. between the walking boot and therapy, I just barely made it to Sturgis. I was even wearing a brace under my riding boot while there. So all in all I guess it could've been worse. -
I have a friend who has had Bells Palsy. I cant really tell it on him anymore. He still rides and recently got married. He got his at about 45 years of age. There is a lot of wisdom in your words. I lost my dad a little over a year ago. I had plenty of time to talk to him, but couldn't express everything I wanted to say. My how I wish I could go back and talk to him some more. I'm glad this little hiccup in your life will straighten itself out. It just makes you more aware of everything! Wishing you all the best!

I am going to go out on a limb and make a prediction. Next year, I will still be closest to Sturgis, and I will still be the only one who trailers...... Now Puc can you find a camera that doesent add an extra 100 pounds? I look like a red marshmallow with whiskers........

Pretty danged sweet! Anytime you get to go to a game life is good! I would imagine a Leafs ticket would be hard to come by. I go over to St. Paul MN. every year for the Donnie Smith Bike Show. Sevefal of my friends and I go. It is held at the Excel Energy Center next door to the Wild. Ive been to 2 Wild games, 2 NCAA Regional Frozen Fours, and 1 WCHA championship while attending the bike show. I like the Hockey better than the bike show and swap meet. I pay my 20 bucks and run around the bike show for a few hours, then walk through the doors to the hockey side and spend the rest of the day watching hockey. It is a great way to spend the day. Last year was at Wild vs Kings and sat 1st row behind penalty box/ scorers table. FUN TIME....... enjoy your game. I am jealous to say the least.......
