my first bike was a Kawasaki 90 Enduro (I was 8), no pic though but it looked like this. It was blue though. I followed that one with a Yamaha YZ100, also no pic. Followed that with a Honda 185 3 wheeler. Then in 1984 I bought my first street bike, a Honda CX 500 Custom and you guessed it no pic, but it looked like this one (same color even). some years later I bought and old Yamaha street bike and it got me going riding again. Which brings me to the 08 RSTD, and the '11 HD Road Glide Custom

Cowpuc-----Here is the first singing IT post. Kenny Loggins has got IT and he knows IT, so he sang IT with Michael McDonald. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8SSdyflGN4]Kenny Loggins- This Is It (1979) - YouTube[/ame] So lets see your Bee Gees post....and we'll see if they have IT. You can join the musical in crowd, where the cool kids hang out. They've got IT, and they've always known IT.

I hate to correct somebody about IT, but you must've meant that the Bee Gees were "All of IT and a bag of chips"........

Didnt Kenny Loggins sing a song "This Is It"?

I picked the date for our wedding. Its one of the few things I had input on... I picked the 22nd so I wouldnt forget it! Plus I figured we could beat the summer heat. It was an unseasonably warm spring day, and it was still over 90 degrees in the church...The church was overflowing (small country church) and the heat made for some thirsty people. Needless to say, the wedding dance was a lot of fun! Its fun to think back on it now, almost as much fun as the first time around. Hoping you and yours have many more dates to celebrate!!!!!

Isnt today just a great day! My wife Tonya and I are celebrating 25 years right along with you!!!!!

I feel your pain. My mother is 83 and thinks throw rugs are the best thing ever invented. She gets around great, but the only problem is that my dad (also 83) doesnt. 6 months ago we "rug proofed" the house. I dont know how many of them things we picked up. A throw rug on top of carpet at that age is asking for it. There were a few we needed to leave in a hallway on tile floors, so the double sided tape people got rich with all the tape we used to keep them in place. About a month ago we did it again, mom replaced a bunch of them. I threw them in the garbage right in front of her. I told her a carpet cleaner is alot cheaper than a emergency room visit. I sure hope everything works out for the better, its gonna be a long week. But the reward in the end is gonna be great.

I've kind of been feeling the same way since I bought my HD in 2011. I always chime in on posts that arent really motorcycle related etc. And I usually check on the chat room every night, but even that isnt what it used to be. Well the day before yesterday my subscription ran out, and I thought "I'll just let it go, I dont contribute that much anymore" It took one day to renew it. I came back yesterday to just see what was going on for the day, and the first thread I looked at had a picture with it. I couldnt look at the pic, so I immediately renewed. I guess a guy doesnt have to contribute to still stay informed...... -
Dammerall anyway, it got down to 9 last night. Tonight and tomorrow we"re supposed to get 3 to 5 inches of snow. I guess I'll wait until next week to farm......
-
Just took my sons 650 v-star in to get it looked at. Bad time for me right now to be looking at a bike. Time to start farming.....His bike had a new battery late last summer, and over the winter it was kept in heated garage with battery tender on it. He went to ride it on sunday and battery was completely flat (tender was still hooked to it too). I hooked a 15 amp charger to it and left it on all day. I went out next morning and tried to start it, it turned over for a few seconds but the starter doesnt sound good at all, not from a weak battery either. Im guessing the battery problem is from the starter, so we'll see. Time to be a farmer so the dealer is gonna get some business I guess. Dealer said they hope to get to it tomorrow, so if I hear of something out of the ordinary I'll pass it on to you.....

I was visiting with a relative tonight and we got to talking about decorating a man cave. He was putting license plates and metal signs of all kinds on the walls of his garage. I told him that I was taking my time in my basement (my mancave) until I was sure what I wanted. I told him I was thinking about putting some classic movie posters on my wall next to the big screen. He went into the back room and came out with a James Dean "Rebel Without A Cause" framed poster and gave it to me. I hung it up already, and got to thinking about all the possibilities. So with that said, what would be the all time best movie posters to hang up. This should be fun to see what we come up with.... I'll start with "The Outlaw Josey Wales", and "The Great Escape" So come on, I need some more ideas!

I should add, as far as what to hook the strap to on the bike, get a couple sets of these straps. They work well, and it keeps the metal hooks away from your bikes paint and chrome. On my HD I use them around the frame in front, and around the passenger peg mounts on the side, as well as a strap around the rear tire. There isnt much to use as a tie down point on the rear of my HD. These straps are a necessisity..... http://www.uscargocontrol.com/Ratchet-Straps-Tie-Downs/Motorcycle-Tie-Down-Accessories/Soft-Tie-Straps-w-Plush-Covers-Motorcycle-Protection-Straps

My toyhauler that I bought had the D rings in the floor. I installed E Track as well. I would look into that if I were you. Especially if you are going to use it for your wifes job. E Track isnt terribly expensive and works well with anchoring boxes of cargo etc. They make the track for floor mount and wall mount. Its very versatile. The E Track allows me to stagger 2 bikes side by side and allows for easy tie down. If you are patient you can find a good used trailer. My toyhauler is a 8.5 by 26 US Cargo (2006). I dont think it was ever slept in. It was used as a business trailer/office going to trade shows. I paid less than 1/2 price of a new one. I added an awning and thats it. One thing to keep in mind with a trailer is the ramp door angle. Make sure it is a gentle angle so you dont get hung up at the top when driving in. Here is a couple of pics of mine. I wish They were closer, so you could see the tie downs. If I didnt have the trailer, my wife (who doesnt ride) wouldnt come and enjoy Sturgis with my boys and I. It turns into a family event, well worth it for me and a no brainer!

John Deere muffler paint. Comes in a rattle can. I have seen some rat bikes that were done with it. Looks like the HD "Denim" bikes.

Go with as long as you can, and as wide as you can. Keep your spare tire etc. inside, along with a smaller cargo box of some sort for all your straps and hold downs. You will never regret having a couple of extra feet up front. Also the bigger it is, the better it will resell if you want to get rid of it. The Atv/quad guys like them too.

Handle Bar Speakers...

I did the shark set up......Cheap to do, didnt last for me. Plus the amp isnt waterproof. It will work in a pinch though. The amp gave out. but the speakers are still working....I think I got 2 years or so out of it. http://www.gooddeals18.com/category/motorcycle_audio/ -
I have a 21 year old and an 18 year old right now. Both of my boys seem to be a lot more cautious than their friends. My oldest does drink but doesnt drive. If he drives his friends around he doesnt drink. We will see how it goes with the younger one. My kids have seen what accidents can cost you. They lost their grandpa about 10 years ago in an accident. So I have had "The Talk" with both of them, and told them to just remember all the ball games, birthdays, graduations etc. that they never got to spend with their grandpa. Not only that, there is another family in this world that is missing their grandma. So when they think about getting behind the wheel, just remember how much they got shortchanged in life already, and is it worth it to do it again to somebody else's family? I also said, that their mother and I cant take another late night phone call. And lastly I tell them that I quit drinking myself 2 weeks after that day. I just couldnt put my wife through that again. Feel free to pass this on to the young man who still drives. I used to be one of those guys too. But man, when it hits your family, you dont even want to know how bad it feels. You never got a chance to say goodbye......

Colorado and Washington will soon be on the list of most overweight people, due to the sudden explosion of girl scout cookie sales...... As far as ND/SD go, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention did a study about alcohol drinking etc. and came up with a top 10 list of drunkest towns. Brookings SD was number 5 and Fargo ND was on the list as well. So was Lincoln Neb. All 3 are college towns, so that explains it. 3/4ths of the town of Brookings is the college, so maybe that is why people are always so happy in ND/SD. Cant ride because of the weather? Screw it, and pass me another beer......... That reminds me, my oldest son graduates from So. Dak. State University in Brookings this may. I'm going to ask him #1- if he participated in this study, and #2- if he got his moneys worth.....

Ive had my eye on this one......1500 pound lift. Can add extensions on it for width for another 170 bucks. I have 2 zero turn mowers on my farm as well as the 3 bikes here at home. I am really tempted to pull the trigger....Would be nice to get the mowers up there as well to service them out and clean up the decks etc. http://www.discountramps.com/motorcycle-lift-tables.htm I figure with these heavy touring bikes, the extra 500 pounds capacity is a bonus....

Depending on what web site you look at, I live close to the 6th coldest city in the U.S. We are living up to that again this year too. I like winter too, but this really sucks. Frost is over 6 feet deep here as well. As far as snow goes, we arent overly deep. Matter of fact thanks to some -40 plus windchill days where we had winds gust up to 70mph one night, and 50 mph plus about a week later, I have lots of bare spots showing in my yard. I have been on my house twice repairing lost shingles. Lucky I got days where it got up over 20 degrees and I put shingles in front of a heater to get them nice and warm to help try and seal them up when i got them on the roof. This summer I will have to fix the roof properly......SUCKS
