The Great VR Scavenger Hunt is alive and well
Scooter Bob replied to Scooter Bob's topic in Watering Hole
After, the idea is to get folks out riding, and not just looking through old trip photos. But it is fun! Hope you can join in! Later, Scooter Bob -
The Great VR Scavenger Hunt!!! Find the link "Stickied" to the top of the "Fun and Frivioulous" topic. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20503&page=80 Several new players, and a lot of activity in the last 8 days. Here's what's transpired in the last few days. A pic of you and your bike and/at... Sign with a "Q" in it, hit on Feb 13 by DanOh a drive thru, hit on Feb 16 by DynoDon some flowers, hit on Feb 16 by SMSgt railroad crossbuck sign, hit on Feb 17 by EtcswJoe Military Memorial, hit on Feb 19 by Scooter Bob a watertower, hit on Feb 20 by DanOh old fashioned barber shop, hit on Feb 21 by EtcswJoe Come on everybody else, join in the fun! Here's a brief explanation of the few rules that DynoDon put together a couple weeks ago. The game is a scavenger hunt. You look for the current "target" get a picture of you and your bike and the target. IT is OK to have you in a reflection in the chrome or mirror since it may be hard if you are alone to get a picture of you and the bike and the target. most people take a second picture of the target and their bike just so people can see it better. the person that gets the current target then sets a new target. Past targets have been things like, (all of them start:)You and your bike and:__________ A police car at a donut shop, a tractor, pumpkin patch, scarecrow, bridge, lake etc etc. Anyone can play, and you only have to look back to the last target (usually just a few messages) to see what it is. Sometimes the "group" will vote on a target if it is kind of on the edge, but usually, you get the picture, post it and set a new target. For newbies, you will have fun going through the previous targets if you want. The more that play, the more fun. Be inventive with targets, but don't make them so hard or obscure that most people can't play. Try to stay away from targets that are only in one area (Pacific ocean, etc). A topical or seasonal target can be fun. One I got was a yard display of blow up Christmas decorations! Play and have fun! Later, Scooter Bob

Sure was nice filling up the bike yesterday, $13 for the last 200 miles I rode it. As opposed to the Venture Snowmobile I've been running lately, about $20 every 50 miles. I wonder if it would get better mileage on printer ink:confused24:

Hey Gac-ride, Glad to see you're still around. Did you here about the 2011 WI MD? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55588&highlight=Wisconsin+Maintenance+2011 And where did you see that commercial? I still haven't seen it yet. Later, Scooter Bob -
Just out of curiousity, what happened? What should others be watchin' out for? Mines been there since I finally joined 2 years ago, and I have never had any problem, that I know of. Later, Scooter Bob

I was out that way last spring. Just head east or west of the DC mess and get out into the countryside, and you're bound to find one. Later, Scooter Bob The current target is... You and your bike and a water tower from a town other than where you live. Bonus points for an old steel one. by Scooter Bob

Here you go... http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6b54018-302c-b8e6.jpg http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6b54018-303a-d5ac.jpg http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6b54018-3046-ba0a.jpg http://184.72.239.143/mu/a6b54018-3051-eea8.jpg It was only 35 miles there, and so nice and out, so I kept ridin'. 75 more miles later, I'm finally getting these posted, and still 15 miles home. Oh, it has finally gotten up to 30 degrees. If this target is acceptible, the next target is... You and your bike and a water tower from a town other than where you live. Bonus points for an old steel one. EDIT: must remember to put an enter/space when loading each picture from the smart phone so they don't come in side by side and make this thread view a mile wide. (for those that missed it, I fixed it now) Later, Scooter Bob

Since we all learn from our mistakes and others(hopefully), The next time that happens, instead of drilling, you can usually just hammer a big screwdriver through it. Later, Scooter Bob

Oh ya, going hunting, and going after the extra credit. Found this sight that lists all war memorials in WI. http://warmemorials.us/municipalities/berlin.html There's a couple bronze guns from the Civil war about 40 miles from here. Gotta babysit the granddaughter this morning, but should be on the rode by noon. Later, Scooter Bob The current target is... You, Your Bike in front of a Military Historical Marker or Memorial. Extra points if it is before WWII. by etcswjoe

I think I will go Hunting today. Beautiful today and high in the lower 30's. Tomorrow we've got this to look forward too... Sunday http://icons-ecast.wxug.com/i/c/k/snow.gifSnow in the morning...then rain or freezing rain or snow and isolated thunder in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 4 to 7 inches. Ice accumulation of less than one quarter of an inch. Highs in the lower 30s. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent. So I better go and enjoy one more day on the MRSV before I switch back to the Venture Snowmobile. The Race is on DanOh, Scooter Bob The current target is... You, Your Bike in front of a Military Historical Marker or Memorial. Extra points if it is before WWII. by etcswjoe

You guys may be interested in this place. http://www.accidentscene.net/ Accident Scene Management Inc teaches classes to Bikers on what to do at motorcycle accident scenes. Great Job royalstar09:thumbsup2: My Brother went through what that lady did last summer. He left the Chiropractor and went to the bank. He doesn't remember going back to the Chiropractor because he didn't feel right, and collapsed there. Good place to be, Chiropractor was doing CPR till the police and then the ambulance arrived. He got shocked 4 times, got to hospital, got unblocked and put on ice for 36 hours. Now, you'd never know anything happened. They say a chunk of cholesteral stuff broke loose from somewhere and slid down and hit the heart and blocked it up tight. No pain in the arm for hours warning at all, just blocked and down. Thanks Again to all EMT's, Paramedics, and First Responders for all you do. Later, Scooter Bob

 Good thing I wouldn't trust MY bike running on MY lift. Otherwise I probably would have had this happen to me too. Glad to hear all is well, Enjoy the ride, Scooter Bob
