  1. Ya, but, with all the ethanol in the gasoline, would that still show up good enough??? Better buy RedRider's spare auxilliary gas tank to carry some Diesel fuel. I was, but now that I'm home (and not on my phone) I can do multiple quotes and smillies and all that good stuff. Will do Buddy. Seriously, good luck on finding what you're after, and lookin' forward to seeing it at WIMD. Later, Scooter Bob
  2. REAL FLAMES in the outline. Sounds neat Bubber. Gonna use LP canister??? Later, Scooter Bob
  3. The most I've put on 1 motorcycle would be the RSV. I bought it new in mid July, 2005. 91,151 miles on the clock right now and no big issues, just lots of tires and oil and rear brake pads. I had rear shock and #3 coil replaced under warranty at about 65,000.
  4. Welcome to the nuthouse Woody. There's lots of good info on this forum, and a little BS mixed in, no matter what Venture you have. Here's a thread on how to list your bike type on top of all your posts, so we know what Venture you have... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58880 There's a couple down the road from you a bit that aren't a whole lot older than you, and they ride an 08 RSV... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=9939 There's a Wisconsin Maintenance Day coming up at the end of June in Southwestern WI, if you'd like to meet some members... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66989 Later, Scooter Bob
  5. Have a good one Walter.
  6. Jeez Les, I told you I'd come up and help you put that rear drive back together. You didn't have to go and switch brands. That should be a great bike for you. I rode HDs for 18 years before I switched to this RSV. Hope to see you at WIMD, Scooter Bob
  7. It was an issue on some earlier ones (2000). Karen's daughter has one. The 4 way hazard switch in the dash is also the flasher unit for the 4 ways and the turn signals. Do a google on the problem. There was even a YouTube video on how to pop the switch out and change it. The switch was about $20. Good Luck, Scooter Bob
  8. I thought you were going to say someone showed up for the MOTORCYCLE ride with a SEMI.
  9. My $0.01 Covers came in I never figured my pennies were worth enough to bother covering them. Looks like you did all right Walter.
  10. I'll bring my Carbtune as well. I don't see an work to do on my bike at this point, but ya never know what might break by then. Oh, wait a minute, I do need to replace the shift lever pivot bolt that I lost in Texas a month ago. But I need to see if any other second Gens show up, so I can get a bolt to put in it. 11. I think you're thinking of former Wisconsin State Senator Dave Zien. http://www.motorcyclemuseum.org/asp/museum/exhibits/heroesofharley/biopage1.asp?id=369 This guy lived about 3 hours from our state capitol, and rode there to go to work most days, including during the winter.
  12. And, and, just think, wait for it... IT'S FUEL INJECTED. The current target is... a picture of You and your bike with a State Trooper sitting on it. by jointventure
  13. Congrats Mary and Gary. Have fun with him.
  14. It sure does. The guys at SMOKSTAK.com had this to say about the engine pics... "It's a Y V probably a 50hp. The 50hp has a 14in bore 17in stroke, like mine. Being in South Carolina it probably ran a cotton jin or an ammonia compressor? " "Yes its a YV, Hot bulb head. pre 1925? Looks like they are having a Great Trip!http://www.smokstak.com/forum/images/smilies/wave.gif J.R. " FYI for those that are interested... Hot bulb head Diesel means that the engine didn't have enough compression to light the fuel when the engine was cold. They heated a metal rod with a gas flame that would get enough heat in the cylinder to light the fuel (think glow plug on a much slower time frame). Once the engine was warm and working, it would do the compression ignition thing all on it's own. I haven't done any serious research on this engine yet, but I believe it is a 2 stroke, and from the look of the chamber attached to the crankcase, it probably uses the downward piston movement to create pressure for the air to scavenge the cylinder at the bottom of the stroke. 15. I'm surprised that it looks to be on an old looking foundation. Anything else around to give a clue at to what it was used for? Or did somebody put it on display there many years ago? Vincent, I'm going to put a post on the SmokStak forum to see if we can find out exactly what it is, and what it might have been used for. Here's a link to the thread I started over there, in case there any other old engine nuts on here... http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104299 The current target is... a picture of You and your bike with a State Trooper sitting on it. by jointventure
  16. I'll keep my eye out for a soup commercial with a pumkin colored... GOLDWING.
  17. Vincent, I didn't know this was a stag ride for you. I guess somebody had to take the pics.
  18. Hope you heal up quickly Dave and Jamie. I hope your insurance company didn't already replace the plastic from the tire incident. Get well soon, Scooter Bob and Karen
  19. You mean you DIDN"T put that pump jack on the trunk rack? You're the big winner, Good Job. The current target is... a picture of You and your bike with a State Trooper sitting on it. by jointventure
  20. Ya, that ones pretty lame, but I still laugh at the little piggy going WEE WEE WEE all the way home.
  21. I don't think it will do the way it is. Can you try again to upload the picture to this forum. Welcome to the game. Just an F.Y.I, staged targets like the one you have proposed often bring this game to a grinding halt. Not that it can't be done, but it may take some time unless someone that plays the game knows someone that fits the description.
  22. Yes, this game does keep us looking at and appreciating all the scenery, and always turns "just a ride" into something to remember. Looking forward to them. Glad you had a great trip and made it home safe. The current target is... A pic of you and your bike and and OIL WELL PUMP JACK. Working or not, or a display of one. by Scooter Bob
  23. Did the beamer come from the factory with the "Custom Pacific Corbin" seat. Or were they chosen because they have deeper pockets than Corbin. What is this world coming to.
  24. What, no takers yet? For your next target... A pic of you and your bike and and OIL WELL PUMP JACK. Working or not, or a display of one. Etcswjoe should have seen some on the way to MO, Playboy and Karen ought to see some on the way home from SC, Twigg's probably got one in his back yard. DynoDon, there are some 20 miles east of ST Looey in the fields.
