  1. I've been waiting for a Minnesota M&E but I am staffing an ambulance that weekend. Thank you again for setting it up ... maybe (hopefully) next time.
  2. Hope I'm not too late on this post. I just got back from the UP and the best place to stay in Manistique is the Holiday motel. VERY VERY clean and cheap $55.00 a night.
  3. Started in IT late '80s mostly data entry for a Small company. Went to school for PC support then programming. Did PC and AS/400 support along with OS/400 and RPG IV programming for a few years. Moved on to installing and troubleshooting barcoding systems. I've been with the same company since '97, right now I am a security and automation programmer using UNIX shell scripting, PERL, DB2/SQL and whatever else I have around.
  4. Payment sent thanks Condor!
  5. I'd be interested too for my 86 Royale
  6. Hi all, I've been a member for about 2 months now and I have just been kind of watching from the sidelines. Now I guess is my time to jump in so to speak. I purchased a 1986 Venture Royale long distance without seeing anything but pictures ... BAD MOVE, silly me I thought a Harley-Davidson dealer might have some integrity. Having cashed my check 5 weeks before I picked the bike up the dealer wanted nothing to do with me when I arrived except hand me the keys and get me out of the dealership. No wonder, after showing me pictures and telling me that the bike was in "perfect" condition I found it to be much different. This poor thing has been dropped or crashed at least once probably more. I am now up to about $800.00 with my local Yamaha dealer for mechanical concerns although for the most part it seems to run strong and clean. This is not counting the bodywork that I will need to do hopefully myself. I am hoping to have it in good enough shape to make the meet in Riverside, IA on 4/18. I am looking forward meeting as many of you as I can and also to all the help and tech assistance I can get. Who knows? After this project I may be able to help someone else. 7. In 1986 I was riding a 500 Virago I got married and my new bride liked riding so much that after just a few rides together I realized that we needed a bigger bike. My father-in-law had a Goldwing but that just didn't do it for me. I went to the local dealer and bought a non-current (remember those?) 1984 Orion Silver 1200 XVZ. We rode this motorcycle through sunshine, rain and even some snow. I Ran in to some financial trouble several years later and had to sell it. After more than 10 years I wanted a "new" bike and had found several possible Goldwings to purchase. Just before I made an offer on one of them I decided to check one last time on line for a Venture, I found a 1986 Venture Royale at of all places a Harley dealer in Milwaukee! I purchased it even though I had only seen 3 pictures. I'm looking forward to many years of riding pleasure with the new bike.
