  1. I haven't used it, but I know it's quite popular in drag racing circles For as much as it costs, I'd hope it would be special.
  2. Today was the first quite warm day down here in SoCal. I felt like I could count a few seconds between the the first and second revolutions.
  3. Simple question. I thought my CLASS was broken, because I couldn't see anything in the screen. I just discovered that it does work when the key is on Accesory. Is that normal?
  4. Dang. THey've gone up $ 10. since.
  5. What model number of filter do you use?
  6. Can anyone explain to me how Condor, or Superbrace braces are different from the factory one on top of my fender. Does the factory one use rubber mounts or something????
  7. http://www.superbrace.com/proddetail.asp?prod=1100
  8. I'd like to throw out an additional fork brace question: Does an aftermarket forkbrace really make much of a difference over the stock one on my 86?
  9. Come to think of it, I've really had better luck overall with Yuasas than I had with AGM batteries. I've barely gotten 2 year at most with them.
  10. I thought I had posted it last night, but I don't see that JC Whitney currently has EBC's for Ventures on sale for $ 26.97 per disc.
  11. I don't think I've ever heard a "I hit cow story and stayed up" before.
  12. JC Whitney has EBC's on sale for less than $ 27.00:happy34:
  13. I used EBC HH Pads on a VFR, and put over 54,000 miles on the original rotors, and they were still going strong when I sold it
  14. I looked all around the site to find out their country of origin but it didn't show where they were made. China I'd guess. $ 48 for a full set of 3 ( 86+)is pretty darn good. At 1/2 the price of EBC's are they 1/2 as good or better?
  15. Did you use varnish remover, or something different to get the old coating off?
  16. My front end has a crashy klunk in it too. The PO had the seals changed not that long ago too. I was thinking it was more likely in the steering head, but ??
  17. I know. I recall reading a thorough test were a guy opened up a variety of filters, and FRAM were rated at the bottom.
  18. That's OK thanks. I've already arranged a used spring with another member. It should do some good. I've read that doubling up 2 soggy diaphragm springs does the job.
  19. Unfortunately you need 4 letters to do a search on this board so I can't find PCW. Got a breakdown of the abbreviation? Thanks. My VFR was the same way. I could tell by the shift smoothness. In this case the oil is fresh - Rotella T synthetic for what's probably it's first time. I don't want to switch back to dino oil though. I'd rather just double up the cluth springs unless you know another cheap fix.
  20. There are 4 mounting points. I'm sure you can rig it up to work without too much trouble. It's also somewhat flexible plastic so you can drill in new spots if needed.
  21. The clutch on my 88 has got the high rpm slips. New clutch plates or a conversion are outside the realm of the current budget. Does anyone out there have a clutch spring from their 86 and up ( Royal Stars too if I understand it ) that they don't have a need for? Maybe you already did a Barnett conversion on your bike. I'd happily pay a few bucks for it. Thanks to whoever PM's me, or even just reads this.
  22. Just don't get any on ya. It can't be good for you.
  23. Yes, I've done some reading since. I don't have the money for a conversion kit, but I've read that adding a 2nd clutch spring will do the trick too. Does anyone have one laying around after they did a clutch conversion?
  24. Well after lowering the fluid level on my 88, it's still slipping in 4th and 5th. Is it really the Rotella, or do I need stiffer clutch springs? My bike has only 30,000 miles, but I'm it's new owner so don't know it's history. I went to order some Barnett clutch springs, but they're $ 175 They are some sort of conversion package. I dunno.
