SilvrT good buy, You got it cheeper than the 500.00. Short haul the prepping is everything but that is what makes the finish product worth it. Love the shop, I need it in my back yard.

passing Lamp Installs
OutlawRider replied to Rickster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Squidley, You said it will not be hooked to the ignition, Would you tell me how you wire it to the relay and switch? If I understand you correctly nothing goes to the ignition. Some say to hook to the llghter plug. Do you have to turn the lights on and off manually each time. I have to put in a relay in and always thought of by passing ignition switch. Just hope to remember to shut off the lights. If wired the way I understand you, when you shut off the bike the lights will still be on until you turn off the passing light switch. Thanks for the help. -
They have been trying, but they can not see them all. Some will take the ticket, drive away and make another call. They just do not learn or care.

Oregon started that last January and I still see people talking on their phones and they drive like they are not paying attention. I always keep an eye on them and try to keep them in front of me. Hope it take hold after awhile.

Does anyone have thoughts on the Dunlop 491 elite 2? I like the pattern.

I have to get someone to show me how to eat them. The one I tried taste horrible. I am doing something wrong. Everyone says how good they are. I can eat any seafood, from raw oysters to lobster and love it. There is something I am missing on these, I know if done right they would be good. Glad you had a great feast.

With all the info I have collected here. Gives me the feeling that they both will fear well if needed. None of us want to go down, but if it happens we want the least amount of body damage on us and our loved ones. Even if we have to replace the garmet. It has done it's jop, like mentioned before. Thanks for all the info.

risers and throttle cables
OutlawRider replied to atlm's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Why does everyone go with risers instead of different bars? -
I have always wore leather. I agree with abrasive part. One of our sons gave me a fieldsheer textile long coat with armour and a liner. I am more of a jacket type person. But I think I am going to start wearing it to work in the morning. It should be warmer and with the lining taken out on the way home should be ok when it is warmer. Just hard to give up my leather. Mary has been looking at the textile's for a while. She is do for a new set and she like the different styles so maybe we will make a change and see how they feel. Comfort is important.

I was always told that for protection in a crash that leather is the best. How does Textile compare when it counts? Anyone know?

Are you signed up for Freebird's Maintenance Day?
OutlawRider replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
Hi All, Maybe some day we will be able to make the MD and meet some of our venture family. I can learn some things on these bikes. What and how to do's. Rich -
At least someone got out to ride. Hopefully tommorow is my turn. We will see when the grandaughter goes home. She will not let me start the bike because it scares her.

Thank you atlm,I assume you are running that trough a 30a fuse. I'll stop by napa today on my morning ride and pick one up and get this project taken care of. Do not want to loose the ignition. Thanks again. Richard -

Ride Like a Pro.. on a Venture?
OutlawRider replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Yes it is the first street bike that I have dropped or ever had down, besides dirt bikes which I have been down on. Some of the dirt bikes I have dropped the same way as you seaking. -
how much air pressure for front and rear
OutlawRider replied to Bwhite's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Does it hurt the rear shock to run zero air. It might drop it down and feel better at stops. -
Ride Like a Pro.. on a Venture?

I watched the dvd and am still trying to talk my self into trying it. Found a perfect place to practice, Just having a hard time getting started. Went for a good ride Weds. and came home pulled up and started backing up the driveway like I always do. Looked over my shoulder to see that I was missing the cars and something felt funny. Turned around to see that the bike was tipping at a stop,it was far enough all I could do is slow it down. I layed it on the side. Just the gaurds and the one muffler. I did find out that I can pick it up. I always wondered about that. Nothing hurt just imperessed. -
Spring salmon is starting here. A little early but you always get the guys that have to try. I'll give it a couble of weeks then I'll hit it and sturgeon.
