Quick Release saddlebags
Moakster replied to 2Whlsrollin's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I just recently purchased a set of the R-Mark Saddlebag Fasteners for my 05 and they fit great. Check to see if your saddlebags are sitting on something that is holding them up and away from the bracket. Mine fit with plenty of thread through the holes. -
Don't give up on the warranty issues. It took me 5 months to get them to replace my lower left cowling under warranty but they finally did. Contact the Yamaha Customer Service Department and explain the problem. They will ask for pictures and a description. That will get you on the road to the warranty work.

Ditto, run 46lbs rear and 40 lbs front. Handles great in the curves and uneven surfaces.

Don, thanks for the site. I sent some and hope it helps. It's a small price to find the wealth of information that you find on this site. Many questions have been answered and problems solved on this site so it is well worth it to me. Moakster

I had an anterior neck fusion for two vertebra's back 2001. I found that if my spine got curved too much from slouching my left and right hand would go numb. I went back to the doctor and he advised that my slouch angle contributed to pinching the nerves that run out of my spine to my hands, causing them to go numb. When I ride for a while and the hands start to go numb I straighten up my spine and move my head left and right and up and down a few times and the tingling and numbness disappear. You might be in a slouch when you ride as I was. This helped me. Moakster

DT, Good job. Glad to have people like you with us.

Go back to where you purchased the bike and get your money back. The transfer does not cost anything and if they did, you got taken.. As stated before the warranty is on the bike and not the owner. The paperwork is needed to adjust the records for the ownership and not the warranty.

Old thread on crash bar brackets
Moakster replied to Moakster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks. I cant figure out why Yamaha made a crash bar that is so fragile? You would think that they would be strong enough to support the bike when leaning on them. -

Broken cowling bracket
Moakster replied to Moakster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Would you believe it...after 5 months.... Yamaha has decided to replace my lower cowling under warranty. Many months of back and forth e-mails and explainations and pictures finally paid off. Got the new midnight cowling installed today. I had no idea that it was this hard to get warrany work done. Moakster
