I figured if we are going to have to go to National Heath Care I had better get it done now and not have to wait in line a year or two. Also since Senior Citizens are being told to tuff it out, I had better do it now. I have put inserts in all my shoes and boots and all of them have a depression in them about the size of a marble. I am wearing sandles and got a pair of Rockey western boot with the eight layer pads that are GREAT. I hope that I don't have to sleep with the walking cast on for to long. tew47

Well, tomorrow I have my right foot operated on. Seems my middle toe is way to long about half inch, causing the joint in the ball of my foot to drop below the others causing all my weight to be on that one joint, which hurts bad. My foot has been hurting for 25 years. The Dr. is going to remove about 3/8" from one joint, and put a plate on the topo to raise the joint up so the weight will be equal. Will have a walking cast on for a month. No riding for a month! Hopefully I can ride to the state CMA ralley on Aug. 21-23, in Talladage,Al. Will be thinking about all of you riding for the next month or more. tew47:95:

Improving gas mileage...
TEW47 replied to 5bikes's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Carbon Dixoide, The atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, thats 99%. If you use a football for example,100 yards, nitrogen and oxygen take up 99 yards or 297 feet, the rest is inert gases & co2. The last inch and half is co2. In the last 50 years the co2 level has increased 3/8" of an inch. Most Co2 comes from the atmosphere, comes from the evapotation of the Oceans, most of the rest comes from volcanoes. The one that erupted in Chile last year put out more CO2 than all the cars in the history of all the cars in the U.S. So I am not going to worry about something I cannot do anything about. tew47 -
I am a MSF instructor also and I teach the ERC on my RSV. You can do the offset weaves and the 24 ft. x 70 ft box it just takes practice! Keep the clutch in the friction zone and use a slite amount of rear brake and lock handle bars to left or right and lean opposite the direction of the turn. Keep a steady throttle. Hope this helps. With alot of practice you can do the 20ft. box. Try going around in a circle for a while in each direction. tew47

I know how you feel. My cumaden level has to be between 2.5 and 3.5, so I have to wear a jacket year round for protection in case of a accident. Helment always. tew47

TEW47 replied to Reaney in NH's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
There is a circlip in the center that has to be removed. Be careful it might fly all over the place when you take it out. Ask me how I know. tew47 -

Met a guy just before Christmas who had no arms below the elbow and no legs below the knees. He had claws on both arms and had like short skis for feet and he rode a standard bike. Was I impressed, he rode just like everone else. Really have to admire amyone who can overcome trials in life like that! tew47

Ordered 2 horns. Question, I am going to mount them on the rear bolt holding the passenger floorboards. Can I splice the wires from one relay to both horns? The relay is 30 amps. I was thinking of wireing one horn and spliceing the wires from that horn to the other horn. Hope you can understand what I mean. tew47

GAS mileage question
TEW47 replied to knifeeven's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I can go about 190 miles before reserve on my '07 RSV. On my old'97 RSTD with the full Bub exhaust system I regularly got 50mpg, was getting 37 before the BUB's. tew47 -
