Color 1, I got it at Hall's Motorsport in Mobile. The phone number is 251-666-7000. I ran a stretch cord on top of the apron where it pulled some of the apron down in between the seats to hold it in place. You sit on part of the apron. tew47

In Mobile we have had three bikers killed in two days. Two of them, the car driver turned in front of the bike and kill the riders. The other one this afternoon was killed while trying to pass a truck on a two lane road and the truck made a left turn as the bike was trying to pass. I have contacted my state representative for a law for safety programs for both motorcycles and awareness programs for car drivers. The first biker was killed by an 82 year old. Problemly could't see well enough to drive. Please drive safe and watch out for the other person. ttew47

I use Bendix brake pads on rear to keep rear wheel lockup to a minimal. Part number is MA 113. You can get them at advance auto parts for about $17 a set. tew47

I've put thousands of miles on a pluged tire. But the best way is to put a boot on the inside, just like they do car tires. A motorcycle shop won't do it so you will have to find a car tire shop that will. The one I use charges $25 dollars to put a boot in. You have to bring them the tire, they do not take them of the bike for you. It's not a hard job to remove the tire. It's all about liability. Motorcycle shops used to fix flats years ago then someone sued when the tire went flat, now,Oh you have to put this $180 tire plus the price to change the tire. LIABILITY tew47

Bought a pair of Herman Survivors Commander boots at Wally World for $40, extremely confortable. Will try them for a while. Thanks for all the suggestions. tew47

I am a MSF instructor and I need a waterproof boot that I can stand and walk in for eight hours. What do you recommend up to $150? I don't care if they are not motorcycle boots since most of the time I will be just wearing them on the range. tew47

Yes you just sit on the apron. I put a strecth cord on the apron and it pulled it part way between the seats, and that holds it in place. works great on lower back. If you were to crash there would be no metal rods to stick you or passenger. tew47

Has anyone ever had their ignition switch to freeze up? Mine did. Went to a NAPA shop across the street and got a tube of graphite and put it in several times before the key started working, the switch did it again four times before I could get to the shop. They are going to replace it,I hope with s lock that will match my key. Covered under warrenty, cost $185. Hope I never have to pay for one. tew47

I have found a real cheap way to fix real wheel lockup when applying brakes to hard. Buy Bendix brakes pads MA 113, they are not nearly as strong as stock. You will have to try really hard to lock them up with thease pads. They are only about $17 a set at Advance auto parts. tew47 -

TEW47 replied to bikerjohn's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I attached mine on the right passenger floorboard bolt. The bolt toward the rear.Had a piece of brass flat bar about three inches long and 3/4" wide, already had hole in eaach end. Bolted right up, no problems. tew47 -
I like my bike because it's big, comfortable, plenty of leg room, good looking and does not look like every other bike on the road. Great seat. Wife loves the rear seat!!! Every HD person that I have been able to get them to sit on it, they remark how good it is to sit on. Most however, won't even sit on it because its not a HD. Go figure, especially after I sit on theirs. tew47

My wife works at a local hospital. Told me this story friday. Man is in barber shop geting his hair cut. A beautiful girl comes in and he says " I could kill myself for you", pulls out a pistol, drops the clip and put the gun under his jaw and pulls the trigger. He forgot there was a round in the gun. Bullet went through his jaw into his head and through the barbers hand. He really impressed her!! Please if you attempt to impress anyone, TAKE THE ROUND OUT OF THE GUN!!! tew47

Maybe its the side stand spring. After looking again I think its a spring that goes on the exhaust system on the header pipes.

Its comming from under the fake fins. Its leaking by the antifreeze coolent plug. Buy new one from dealer. Remove fin, have new plug in hand, pull old plug quickly and stick new one in fast so not to much antifreeze leaks out. You also might trying using a washer stuck on the raised area that sticks out right where the antifreeze plug is on the fin, try permatex or something like that to hold it in place when you put the fin back on. tew47

Its a coolent leak. Buy a new rubber plug from dealer. On the inside of the fins put a thin washer held on by permitex or something like it to hold it in place, about the thickness of a dime. The plug will come out easy so be ready with the new one to put it in quickly so the antifreeze doesn't leak out to much. tew47
