  1. I dont have a lowered front end (actually didnt even know you could do that) bit ypur light bar will be higher with the spacer
  2. Thank you
  3. I received an email back from Hopkins today and of course they just said that it could be a bad converter causing "my" problems. They said to take it back and get a new one.....go figure.
  4. I did a search a few days ago and it appears they were released on Sept 1st last year
  5. I had the Utopia on my first 05 Venture and loved it. I now have another 05 Venture and I put a cheap backrest on it that I found on ebay and while it is okay, I would love to have my Utopia back.
  6. Which vid are we supposed to watch
  7. You can find Hopkins converters at Advanced Auto Parts.. I just installed one on my bike and think I purchased a faulty one because the blinkers are really dim until I hit the brake.
  8. I got fed up and bought a set of bulb type lights to see if it was just the LED causing the problem. Turns out that I may have a bad converter. I can see the bulb light with the turn indicator on but it is very dim. When I apply the brake with the indicator on, the bulb lights and flashes the way it should. This leads me to think the converter is causing a significant voltage drop through the turn indicator circuit. Ive sent Hopkins an email asking for their opinion. Once I have it figured out I will post sometbing on wiring a venture for a trailer that will definatly work.
  9. I've checked everything that I can check without having my Fluke (I do have a simple circuit tester) The Hopkins 46155 converter (says it's compatable with LED) hooks up to the stop, tail, left, right and ground on the bike side and the output to the trailer is tail, stop/left, stop/right and ground. I've tested (with the circuit tester) to make sure that the output of the converter works as designed and it does. The trailer is wired with the tail spliced to each side and the grounds spliced to each side. The turn/stop lines are ran directly to the turn/stop on the LED tail light. This is what happens. - tail and markers work as expected - break works as expected - turn doesn't work, but I do have a good turn indication with the tester as it goes into the LED tail light. Just for kicks, I applied the brake and wala the blinker works. Only thing I can figure is that maybe the the LED light requires a higher voltage than the blinker is actually putting out. Surely someone on this site has a piggybacker trailer with LED tail lights that can let me know how they made their's work.
  10. Anyone out there pull a Piggybacker with their 2nd Gen? I used to have an older model Piggybacker that I pulled with my first 2nd Gen and it had regular bulbs in the tail light. I hooked it up with a Hopkins converter and everything worked great. I just bought a newer Piggybacker to pull with my 05 and it has LED tail lights. I hooked it up with a Hopkins 46155 converter and everything went well, but the flashers and turn signals don't work as expected. I can see a small flicker with the blinker/flasher on, but I figured an extra set of LEDs would light up. The tail lights have a label on the that state 1 wire for tail, 1 for stop turn and 1 for ground. So.....has anyone on here with a newer piggybacker had this issue?
  11. This is just too funny. I always find myself streaming down the list of responders looking for V7Goose. He seems to alway make sense out of a problem...at least for me.
  12. I bought the same ones about two weeks ago and they are great. Most on ebay are $100+ so when I saw these I jumped on them. Great seller and quick shipment..
  13. I think they all make a little noise from the clutch but I wouldnt have any other bike right now and Im on my second venture. there are a bunch of ventures running the roads down here in south florida so maybe someone is a little closer than miami that would give you a chance to try one out.
  14. Beautiful trip....I've taken it a couple of times.
  15. The area isn't much for clubs, but there is a "coconut" something or other at exit 110 off of I24 that my daughter used to party at. There is some awesome mexican food at a place beside the highschool on hwy 55. Prater's BBQ is on the right about half way to McMinnville and they aways win the awards for best food. The best clubs are in Nashville which is about an hour up I24
  16. I used to live in Manchester and there are some great rides in the area. Love Lynchburg. Not sure how far you want to ride, but there are some fantastic rides up the mtn in Grundy County. Take hwy 50 out of Lynchburg. It will take you by Tim's Ford Lake and into Winchester. Then take hwy 41 into Monteagle (some good places to eat up there) continue on 41 into Tracy City and then hwy 56 through Altamont and Beersheba Springs and on into McMinnville where you can hit hwy 55 which is a 4 lane for some easy rinding back to Tullahoma and on into Lynchburgh. Its a pretty long ride but some beautiful contry. If you want to go past McMinnville there is another beautiful area near Fall Creek Falls State Park. Hwy 16 and 56 that go into Alabama are also beautiful rides if you want to go in that direction. I sure do miss living up there because there is nothing that can compair down here in Miami.
  17. Not sure what it is about those two bolts but they seemed to have a bad taped hole on both of my ventures. I was finally able to get both of them tight with a good quality ball allen but I also made sure I purchased the extender bracket from the guy up in Vancouver so I never had to deal with them again. Not sur how you are going to remove the easyout but if you can I would redrill them and tap to a larger size.
  18. I can't believe they haven't even looked at it yet!!!! I guess that just goes to prove that I will never be spending any money at Broward Motor Sports. Didn't they know that you were going to leave on a trip tomorrow? I guess I could always give you my bike for the trip, but it wouldn't match that pretty blue trailer.
  19. I just threw my shield away about 2 weeks ago
  20. I know that it seems pretty cool, but I love riding at that temp as long as I have my chaps and coat. Here in Miami it's been so hot that I don't dare get on the bike for a long day. I'll be moving up there in Feb and can't wait to meet everyone!
  21. That's FANTASTIC Red! Enjoy the new pipes...I think you will enjoy the sound.
  22. Yes, they are all 4 the same size.....4" You might as well get aftermarket speakers because they will be MUCH cheaper
  23. I just greased my drive pins and you will need a large set of snap ring pliers and make sure you get the snap ring back in good. For some reason it was had to get mine back in without a few good wacks from the rubber mallet
  24. I us Plexus on the wind screen. Its a little expensive but it works really good.
  25. Well I had to reinstall my stock mufflers. The baffles I ordered were 3" and I thought they were the right size, but after removing the endcap this morning I realized that they needed to be more like 3.5". I've already spent way too much money on this mistake already, so now I have a nice set of hollowed out Screamn' Eagle pipes with clamps and brackets sitting in the trunk of my car......should have just spent the money on the Barons slashcut mufflers.
