  1. Have you looked at the damage caused to Mexico Beach?
  2. Where I live, west of Charlotte, there is over 4" of rain in my gauge as of 1:00 pm today. Storm will be passed by 4:00 pm and sun to come back. Power went out around 11:00 am but my standby kicked in so all is well. We have heavy winds which probably had something to do with the power outage. Looking forward to a beautiful Friday with fall temps. I hope Mike G in SC fairs well.
  3. Any light setup can be done on the Venture if you dig deep enough. I went through the light change back in 2007 and still enjoy it. Did at least 12 more for friends. Research and thought process is what it takes.
  4. Richard, your cruise probably works but need to be wired. I had an 04 company truck with cruise that didn't work. I took it to a Ford mechanic and in about 3 minutes he put a wire in and it worked. Told me that it won't shut off with the override safety system but would manually. Drove it 255,000 miles that way without a problem.
  5. Steve, it will be hard to check the balance on the wheel barrow. But I have never had luck keeping a barrow tire inflated (even with Slime) because it is used so little.
  6. Is Slime considered a sealant for MC amd trailer applications? I know is sure works well around the farm.
  7. I don't own a Bushtec and have no need to know how to repair one, but I read every post. I kept reading because I was intrigued with the mechanical thought process that came from each post. Very good job, guys.
  8. Very well done. Will put that on our travel list.
  9. My last day is December 31. Stayed longer than I wanted (now 72) and they still want me to stay, but the last few years have taken their toll on me. Really looking forward to retirement from my current 50 year career.
  10. Pictures would be very helpful.
  11. You can make bet on that. Every RSV I have ridden was different than the last.
  12. My 02 has never had the whine. I did install the PCM spring and inner full disc in the clutch ten + years back due to slippage, but never a whine or chirp.
  13. I put a set of Shinko 777s this May and a big improvement over Dunlop D404s, which I have run for thirteen years. I won't be wearing them out though, I plan on giving up riding the Venture and get my 1980 XS Eleven back on the road.
  14. Welcome Beachbum, stay here for a long time and you will be knowledgeable of your bike.
  15. Good thoughts, Ben. When we talked at MD, I had the feeling that you were very thoughtful. Yes we are more than Yamaha, much much more.
  16. Very nice bike and good on you to keep it.
  17. Why not use Dyna Beads instead? I have used them for fifteen years on my 02 RSMV without a problem.
  18. Well the auction is over at least nobody here bought it I hope. Click on the site and they have an old Yamaha big wheel 350 for $3500. What a deal!!!
  19. I am very happy that your family is expanding. Congratulations on your grandson and best wishes to his parents.:happy65:
  20. I wish I had pertinent info for you, Condor, but alas I don't. Only BMWs I were ever around was a buddy's back in the late 60s, it was an R65. In my 20ish mind it looked silly especially next to my Norton 750 Commando. Before I purchased my 02 RSMV (after bad experience with a HD Ultra 2000) I tried all the bikes for touring. The BMW was too tall and stiff for me. Obviously since I never had involvement with them. I did have a Maico 400 motocross though (is that European?). I would like you to get this machine cheap and I will wait for every post you write on how it is going. Run this by Puc since he knows the bike world.
  21. Now these are funny!!! :rotf:
  22. I am surprised that Greenville got a lot of wind to knock out power. Maybe 30 mph here now. Hope you do well.
  23. What the hey, just fab something up and get Marcarl to approve it and all will be well with the world. For some reason I was thinking of Carl and this came out.
  24. Hey Joe, I will be fine since I am at high ground and have whole house generating capacity. TDunc sits pretty high also so he should fair well. Plus the winds are not forecasted to be very high here. Tonight around 32 mph and lowering to 12 mph Sunday night.
  25. The forward winds are on shore with thousands reported without power. It will only get worse from now. 36-40+ inches of rain on the coast. Then it heads southerly towards South Carolina and Georgia but the hooks right toward NC mountains and Tennessee. I may take a more severe hit than I thought. For me I am on high ground and other than erosion I have only the wind and the tree damage to worry about. Prayers up for all in the storm area.
