  1. All I can say is hot damn that is beautiful brother. That Ford 300 ci six has lots of torque and will last longer than the eights. So happy you and Tip are out on the prowl. Live life to the fullest. Looking forward to Freebird's MD.
  2. I really hate seeing you guys get this blast of winter from Wesley. My home town Omaha seems to have missed it but not by much. Iowa and the Dakotas, Minnisota, Wisconsin and maybe Michigan seem to be in the path by my research. You all be safe and warm.
  3. I know you made a very good decision to stick around. I wiil stay here with my good friends until I lose my mind or my life. Either is death for me. Keep us posted on your happenings while retired. Cowpuc started me last fall doing things that are fun and enjoyable albeit expensive. But I give thanks to him for his encouragement.
  4. Did you purchase a .308 AR 10 lower that was 80%, and have to drill and mill it? Or are there completed lowers availble? Just old Sly trying to wrap his arms around this AR stuff. No problem with AK material.
  5. Impressive but not for my ols stiff body.
  6. I read into your post that you were leaning toward a new firearm. I was just giving you encouragement. My bad. Drill and mill away my friend. I am not so inclined since I don't have the skill set.
  7. I'm sleeping by 8:15 pm. Up at 3:00 am.
  8. In my opinion it is a no brainer. Upgrade and save your labor and frustration.
  9. Really a good thread. I have learned about the petcock on my own dime a time or six. Normally never shut it off.
  10. Finally got around to addressing this situation. Started the bike and still no fire on right side. Let it run under choke at 2000 rpm for a bit and it started to backfire and then revved up so backed off the choke and voila it is running on four again. Busy on other things so shut it down and will address service and tune-up soon. We have weather pattern coming next week so garage work will be in order.
  11. I told my wife once that I was going to find a young girl to come live with us, and she said only if she does laundry, dishes, cleans house and washes windows then she is welcome.
  12. If it was an original 30-40s model car would it still need to pass emissions test?
  13.
  14. Received a flash sale email from my gun dealer today offering the Kel-Tec PMR 30 .22WMR for $359.00 (msrp $450+). Got excited but I have heard lack luster reports on this. Went online and read multiple reports that left me with the opinion of "ho hum", and put the idea out of my head. Great range gun but not much more, because at the range you don't have to depend on the gun firing every time. Had this problem with my Ruger MK III at the beginning but Ruger took care of that. On to bigger and better projects.
  15. Gosh Daniel, that brings back some very bad memories. Had the same happen to me forty years ago and it was not pleasant. Hope you heal fast and the bike is as good as new after repairs or the insurance replaces it.
  16. Have read your posts for years and will miss them, but you have to do what you feel is right. My dues are payable by April 15th also but I paid them, even though I don't ride anymore. Would be a big empty hole in me without being able to log on and visit such good friends. Enjoy your retirement.
  17. Now that is good workmanship, and well thought out.
  18. OK I was off by 180 degrees.
  19. Thanks for the education. Much better than online lesson. I can see a matched set in like serial number would be a huge draw.
  20. I give up, what is it? Looks to be auxillary tail light kit. Am I close?
  21. Did a research on the Buckeye and although I knew they were named for Ohio, I didn't know they were made exclusive for a sporting company. And I didn't know they came in .38-40 & 10mm. in a convertable and the .32-20 came in a convertable with the .32 magnum. Very interesting. And there were less than 1,000 produced in the later 80's and early 90's. Certainly collectable.
  22. I bet you would. I don't recall when Ruger made the Buckeye but I believe they were .32-20. The Blackhawk is a great revolver platform and they point well.
  23. The Luger was built as a commercial firearm and not for military use, therefore the quality. And in the publication it is an all numbers matching including the butt stock. I am like you when it comes to money...I don't have what it would take to buy it. It is a consignment sale for obviously a serious collector.
  24. Yes you are right Condor, the Dragoon is certainly in the six to seven figures. But not a shooter like the Luger. I would shoot the Luger but never a work of art. Absolutely gorgeous!
  25. Thank you for posting this, Puc. This 7.65X21 Luger is for sale at Hyatt Gun Store in Charlotte, NC and can be had for the rediculous low price of $13,999.00. I talked to Larry Hyatt about finding another like this. That way I could follow my boyhood dreams of being Hoppy or Roy with two guns.
