  1. Congratulations on having a job. Nice looking tractor! Last one I drove over the road was a Diamond T, now that ought to date me. It was a nice rig for the times.
  2. With these on, does your bike settle down close to the pavement? The cars I see with these seem to come to a stop and squat down. Ohh and they have musical horns!:rotf:
  3. My votes are as follows: Most Fun: 3 different Triumph T120 Fastest: Norton 850 Commando Coolest: Arial Square Four with left sidecar Proudest: H-D Duo Glide Police (still own) Most Expensive: 2000 H-D Ultra Classic Missed Most: Honda 305 Scrambler Best Touring: 2002 Royal Star Midnight Venture
  4. The one to own is one of the special built Cushmans for the Shriners. Now these were state of the art.
  5. Being originally from Nebraska, I wear nothing but "western boots" and they have rubber soles and heels. I prefer good brands...Justin, H/H, and any good quality boot manufacturer. I always buy at a store east of Kansas City (about 40 miles on I-70) called "Klienschmidts". My wife knows that whenever I head west and get close to this dealer that I will buy one or two pairs of boots. They have a huge inventory.
  6. I have made the ride to DC many times and will do so again this year. This is not a ride for pleasure or notoriety, the ride is only (repeat) only to honor our fallen brothers and our missing brothers. The weekend is solemn and deserves the respect it deserves. If you make the ride you will leave with a new feeling of patriotism.
  7. The cassette MP3 player is proof of Yamaha's genius in keeping the cassette player a decade into the new millenium. I can see the gen 3 Venture still with a cassette player. A modern revival.
  8. I bought my 02 RSMV and got 0 percent for one year (I think), after three or four payments, I couldn't stand it and paid it off. I like not having to make payments.
  9. I, too, am a loyal Gerbing user. I have had Gerbing gloves, pants liner, vest, and socks for nearly twenty years. I purchased newer gloves four years ago and everything works fine. I have never had a complaint with their products.
  10. If they did come out with a new RSV I couldn't afford it anyway, so this way my beloved 02 is still in style.
  11. Been in the mid 70's F here in North Carolina since last Saturday.
  12. I run the Dunlop 404 in whitewall and I have been very pleased with them. I used to run a Metzler up front and a Bridgestone rear both in WW. Metzler did not make a WW rear then and I still don't think they have one. The Metzler handles very nicely but I had a problem with the third one I owned. I have never had Avon so I have no comment on them.
  13. 2002 RSMV and a 1962 H-D Duo Glide with jockey shift.
  14. Nope, me neither. I rarely check it, but whenever I do it is perfect.
  15. Riding Riding Riding Shooting Building furniture Riding Riding Riding Listening to my wife complaining about my Riding
  16. Where do you order/view this lift adapter? DUUHH, never mind. I got a brief moment of lucidity and looked in the classifieds.
  17. Why do you need to lower the kickstand? You only lowered the front 1". I know many riders who have lowered the front but never lowered the kickstand.
  18. I don't have them but I have a friend with an 06 RSV with them on it. Very loud, good bass and very clear. He has custom speakers also. I have been requested to install the Baker hi output stator on his bike since he is also running Tour Master heated clothing for him and his wife. He has all the techno goodies on it.
  19. The clamps are very hard to get to. Let the dealer do it if you can. If not, you will need to remove the lower fairing, tank, seat, and neck covers. Then get an eyeball on a stick and flashlight and start searching. there are four clamps: filler conection and radiator at the upper hose, water pump and radiator at the lower hose. Have a 6mm socket and long extension in 1/4" drive and a long phillips screw driver available. Expect to leave a little blood around the floor from damaged fingers and keep small children away (bad language). These words from a wise old fart.
  20. If you get far enough south, try the Blueridge Parkway begin in the Shenandoa Valey Virginia and end in North Carolina at the Tennessee. It is very nice at that time of the year due to the high elevations.
  21. Ken, There are lots of cheap RSV out there now. The asking price may not show it but the economic realities prove it. I know three RSV owners that "HAVE" to sell due to lost jobs. I have told two of them that they will have a tough time getting what they think it is worth. One of them called last night and accepted $2000 less than what he could have gotten three or four months ago. It is a buyers market but you need the cash to make it work.
  22. The best thing I have found for the "truck" handling at low speed is leveling links. Took all that beasty handling away and now handles like a baby.
  23. Bubber, Send me an e-mail at my profile. I can help, have the OEM bars and weights. I have put a set off the RSTD on my RSMV and it came with weights since they are different.
  24. I am using HugesNet right now and have for a year without any problems. Having built in the country and not wanting a telephone line anymore, this was the best solution. The phone cards cost as much and since I used them (Sprint) for work before retiring I wanted something better. At the very beginning of using HughesNet, it seemed slow until a friend (read geek) came over and cleaned up my computer. I now see no difference with the Road Runner we had in Charlotte.
  25. It will hit 60 degrees here this afternoon, therefore I have no frozen nuts. But if I did, heat is the best answer and of course soaking helps also.
