Brad & Lonna, I am realy sorry to hear about the job, you said you had a bad feeling about work. You will be missed throughout the region. I guess those 11hr round trips to your place will be a little longer now. Just remember you will always have an open door and a place to stay in Northern Ontario. To bad it is in the wrong direction, Good luck Mark & Rachelle

Have you ever been around Squidley when food WASN'T involved, with Squidley everything revolves around FOOD:banana:........... I learned my lesson  As god is my witness I didn’t eat until dinner tonight. I broke all the diet rules the stroke lady put me on with that meal. I felt like I could curl up like a chipmunk and sleep that one off. Note to self: don’t eat before meeting up with Brad and Lonna.

I asked Squidley if he could help me with a problem I was having with my bike. He said sure and the date was set…The next morning I got up at 5:30am check the weather and saw a huge storm passing through Southern Ontario. I watched the storm track on the radar image and figured if I left between 6:30am and 7:00am I would pass through the narrow part and only have to ride in bad weather for an hour or so. I packed up and hit the road 5½ hrs later I was in Squids garage working on the bike. I was able to spend the better part of the day with him and his family who open their house to an almost complete stranger. School lasted until 5:00pm when we broke for dinner and then prepared to head home. Another 5½ hrs later (because I had to get back home that night) The bike was fixed and I was home safe and sound. Thanks again Squidley:clap2::clap2: 11hr ride - $40 gas Road trip in 2 Countries - $6 tolls An afternoon with the Newby Family = Absolutely Priceless:cool10: Mark

Annie Annie Annie You should know, Canadians are the most polite bunch of civilized people around. We would never insult someone intentionally. You’re too hard on yourself. My momma told me to always say something nice. So…… Nice .... truce. Just kidding Annie. It is always nice to have a face with a person’s name, good idea. I hope we can meet you in person some day. I know I would love to see your incredible country. Mark

Let me start by saying congratulations, from one private pilot to the next. I remember when I soloed my dads float plane (Super Cub) for the first time at age 17 on Lake Temagami. Completed my licence the following year at the airport and made my parents the proudest around. My son has also had the opportunity to fly the same plane with my dad and with myself. I know exactly how you feel.

Squidley I am also looking for the power supply that comes from the relay when the key is turned on and off. They must have a spare accessory wire hidden away, tucked under something that comes from the fuse box?

Over the last few weeks I have been teaching my wife to ride a bike again. She road one of my bikes about 30 yrs ago. She only road a couple of times, so she was a little nervous. She did her M1 beginners a month ago and we have been using my son’s Honda 600 Shadow to do a 100 stop and starts with me on the back. I told her once she is comfortable stopping and starting with the two of us, it will be a peace of cake alone. This afternoon she said she was ready, so we fired up both bikes and headed out to practice on the back roads solo. She did great. She was really nervous but we took our time and she road for about an hour. She does the official training course next weekend at the collage and will get her M2 level when she completes it. Now the best part of this is :stickpoke:teasing my son. He’s a basket case , I told him to take some pics of it while it was in one peace. He has no sense of humour and I don’t cut him any slack. Back to the main topic, she handled the bike very well but does find it heavy. She is not a big lady and I think it is smaller the than my old Honda 500 custom. Is the bike to big to learn on? My son had no problem but he is stronger and has about 60 lbs on her. What size of bike did the ladies in this club/form learn on? Do you think I should find something smaller or should we just take our time with this one? I think  she is just nervous about dropping it because everything is overwhelming at the start. She has to concentrate on everything until it becomes more natural. After she rides more she won’t find herself having to try and think of everything that has to be done while driving.

Did you have to get both wood stoves going or was one good enough. I did have a great ride with lots of wild life along the way, 5 deer in total in 2 different spots, 25 to 30 vultures some in flight and others warming up on the fences, 100's of geese, a few ducks and a couple of hawks. Today they are calling for a high 3C (37F). If you’re not using one of your wood stoves I could bolt it on stoke it up and pretend I am like my southern brothers and sisters. Yesterday I had on long johns, jeans, rain suit, sweat shirt (why they call it that) winter gloves, wool hat over my helmet and a winter coat. My wife laughed at me :rotf:and said she would wait for better weather. I said this is better weather and wasn’t going to miss the riding season. It was like snowmobile on wheels. The only difference is, the roads hold a smooth surface longer after the groomer goes through.
