I would remove all the spring leaves except the main. It will ride much better with less bounce. The springs in that trailer are rated for 1500lbs... WAY to heavy for what we do.

Yes, wiring is correct but the guy doing the final assembly at the dealer is installing them wrong. Yes, I would think it would be covered under the 5 year war. My bike is a 2001... Lon out of War. I'm just thankfull the prev owner never used the CB.

WOW... Thats almost 3 ounces. I would have sent that back. I wouldn't put 3 ounces on a car tire. How much weight did the rear take? Hope mine are better. I read lots of reviews on the tires and nobody had anything neg to say. For a 3rd the cost of avons or elite... I gotta try them.

Stock Brickstone on the front. Perhaps that was my problem?
-
If they are mounted backwards and you use the CB to much it will burn out the transmit on the CB. Mine was backwards as well. I saw a big improvement on both the CB and the Music radio when I switched them.

230 Tour Master Rear Tire Color - --, Size - 150/90V-15 SKU# 54161On Order$69.991$69.99230 Tour Master Front Tire Color - --, Size - 130/90V-16 SKU# 54153In Stock$59.991$59.99 Bias Ply. Great reviews. Never found a negative comment. Except of coarse on wear. Dressed touring bikes appear to get 10K or so on a rear... but for the price I can live with that as long as they perform decent. I bought them from the Motorcycle super store. www.motorcycle-superstore.com I will post with handling remarks when they get here and they are mounted.

After installing the Kumho using about 110 PSI and ride around 3000 miles and towing a trailer about 2000 miles I have decided to go back to the M/C tire. Pros of the c/t... Longer wear.... Better braking... improved low speed handling... better acceleration Cons... After trying different PSI from as low as 30 and as high as 44 i find it unstable at speed... it wants to follow every groove in the pavement.... I get a wiggle at speeds over 75 running empty and its worse when towing. High speed corners feel strange... it tips over well... but I feel like it Waggles thru the corner. I really wanted the c/t to work. it cost 1/2 as much and last twice as long... its a no brainer. But I just can't get it to work for me. I have ordered a set of Shinko Touring tires ... Front and Rear tires delivered for $129.00. I will report back after they are installed. Thanks to all for your views and info on the C/T and if its working for you that AWESOME....It just wasn't for me.

Well... lets look at your question.. If 77% of the bike and its parts are MADE IN USA... then I would say a significant amount would go to the AMERICAN owned companies that made the parts. I would also say a Significant amount would go to the AMERICAN employees that make those parts and assemble the bike. Yes... the final profit on the bike goes to Mother Honda in Japan... but a HUGE portion of the money spent on that HONDA stays right here in the USA.
-
But its not.... its only assembled in America ... the parts are made overseas. A few years ago I got in a heated discusion with a guy giving me crap about my GL1500 Goldwing being made in Japan. I looked it up on the net. 77% of the Goldwing was made in America and its assembled here.... only 63% of the Harley Ultra was. So much for American made.

I mite have a used set forsale... after I install my Road King pipes. Love the sound of the Bubs... but they get a bit annoying on long trips. Mine are in great shape... except for the tips. The chrome is flaking.. as they often do. I have no idea what they are worth.. but I would be open to offers. I hope to get the Road king pipes on this week.

I have a Harbor Frieght in pound wrench... when I bought it I clamp a bolt in a vise and practiced with the torque settings. I found after it used for a whilke it broke in and it works great... but when it was new it was sticky. Try clicking it on several diff settings and you will find it will loosen up and work smooth.

Beware using your debit card at the gas pump
Reaney in NH replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
This interesting... but the info in the above post doesn't hold water in my opinion. We just returned from a 4 day trip to SkidIN in WV. We traveled about 1900 miles in 4 days. Everytime I fueled the bike I used my Debit/Credit card, as I always do. I always paid at the pump... I always ran it as a credit card when asked. I just checked my bank account online and I found that every transaction asked my bank for a $1.00 sale... then credited me back when the sale was final. most transaction hit my account within 24 hours. There was never a "Hold" put on any money... except for the $1.00 sale authorization. I like using my debit card for everything. When I left home last Thursday I had $12.00 cash in my pocket... when I got home Monday night I still had $4.00 left. Now I can easily look at my banking statement and tell exactly how much I spent and where it was spent. Just my 2 cents. -
Beware using your debit card at the gas pump
Reaney in NH replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Ok... I will ad my 2 cents. I use my Visa Debit card to buy gas all the time.I ALWAYS process as a Credit Card.. I do this to avoid having to use my PIN number. When I make a purchase.. My account shows a $1.00 hold... until the transaction goes thru... then I credit back Whatever was help. There has been several times the " HOLD" put me over ... but the bank has never charged me for it... as long as it worked out when the deal was done. I rarely use cash to buy gas anymore... mostly because all gas is PREPAY... if I pay with cash I need to go in... give the attendent my cash... then pump my gas ... then go back inside to get whats left of my cash. To mach of hassle... Its much faster to pay at the pump. I'm glad a run accross this thread... it reminds me to call the bank tp let them know I will be using my card alot this weekend. -
Thank you... but there is no way we can make it tonight. Wife has to work in the am til noon. See you at Skids.

I was looking for awhile on ebay and the stock Pillow tops were bringing up to $200.00. I ended up buying a Corbin for $300.00. I now have both the Corbin and The stock Pillow top that I rebuilt myself... kinda like Rick butler does on his seats... then replaced the top pillow layer with a Latex Memory foam. It feels great. Jury is still out on which seat is best for the long haul... I will know this weekend tho. We are traveling to WV for the Skid in. I'm bringing both seats so we can change it out. Good luck in your search for the right seat.

I see an error.... We won't arrive until Friday early afternoon.

Strangly enough... they pop right off when needed. I'm really not sure why. I blew up my first one at around 120 PSI.. it was a Nexum. My second was a Kumho... it seated at 110PSI... I used Pure dish soap and tire Ruglyde for lube.
