Good luck on the new site Don. I hope it brings good people together like this site has. If so it will work out great and be great like this site. I know this site will go away sometime because nothing last forever, but i hope its not because of the bikes we chose to ride. There's just great people here and im proud to be a part of this.

Your pup will come around sqiud. She just needs time to heal. Like someone else posted just watch her licking on the wound. If it looks like its getting puffy and red then a dog coller that will stop her from licking it will be needed. That is major surgery for a dog and i now i felt just as bad as our dog did after it. She will be ok and that was the esponsable way to go.

Ruger means quality. Nice piece.

Kevin. Glad you 2 are ok. Young people driveing do not pay attention nowdays. They just drive and think everyone else should get out of there way. Don't let the insurance companys take advantage of you 2. you should be compansated for the bike, gear and pain and suffering that you have now and possabley in the future. They will try and settle with you really fast. Again glad you and wife are ok.

Thanks Earl, Baby's got back allright but that's just getting carried away. You may be rite about my belly looking latley and that hair is just about the right coler white for us q-tips.

Dan. At first gen speed the wheels should act like a gyroscope. I would check the adjustment on the bearings first and just try tighten them up a bit. If that dosen't make a change then youve got to dig in for new bearings. Good luck my friend and whatever you do be safe.

If i had the cash i would be all over your bike chuck. Looks like a great deal and even better because we live in the same state. Our end of the state is bad work wise right now. Been out of work since Feb myself. But to all of those that may be thinking bout it they should jump! Great deal for someone with a secound gen, then they could find out what going fast is all about.

I contactd ruger about a pistol that needed repairs. They sent me a prepaid tag that i had to attach to the box to send to them for repairs in az. The instructions were to take the package to a ups hub to ship out not a ups shiping store or the hardware store whichs ships ups. The lable said ruger so there was not a question as to whereit was going or what was in the package. ups never asked. When it came back to me ups a adult had to sign for it. Thats all i know. contact ups for full details is all im saying. I to thought u could not send firearms ups or mail. But much to my supprise it happens all the time. Thats my 2 cents of knowledge and thats all i got. Good luck.

Mk I, MkII compatability
campfire12 replied to Trader's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Better check the roters. They may be different from mk1 to mk2. If thats the case it will be easier to change the tires on the rims. The last time i changed roters from 1 rim to the other i spent over 1/2 a day. Had to heat the roter bolts up with a torch red hot and still broke 2. Then were talking drilling and taping holes. Good luck my friend but my luck with those roter bolts was no luck at all. -
Allways cary a plug kit. I would ride the rear with a plug till the tread wore off, the fronts a bit different. I would replace a front pluged tire as soon as i could. co2 inflator when solo but a 12v mini compressor when draging the trailor.

Sad news from Dan Monday
campfire12 replied to Freebird's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Our prayers go out to Dan and familey. We were talking to them and she was so proud of her son,s art work. She and her husband Dan made shure we seen all there boys art work on there phones. They seemed like a very close family. As allways when one of our own looses someone they love we all feel for them.Love Dan & Deb -
We can make the ride in late aug or sept so most of the folks in our group can ride the same day. There should not be any snow cover anythere at that time of the year. As long as no rains or floods creep up on us we can all make the run just at different times same day.

89 Gas mileage improvement
campfire12 replied to frankd's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Skydock at one time had machined shims he made that were just the right thickness. We used them on my 84 and milage is constant 43-44 mpg. With 2 up and pulling the trailor me and the wife got 40-41 mpg up and back to freebirds md. -
I like the rename of the current award and the idea is awsome about the memorial run is also great. Pick a date and people all over ventureland can make the ride in there own neck of the country and report in. Just my 2cents worth.

The only thing i can tell you is they promised jobs in the local area but every vehicle we see is from out of state. They promised that its good for the economy but no jobs. Our area is depressed becaause of the steel mills closed and it looks like it will remain that way. They keep feeding us good news but give us bull****.

Good luck my friend. Let us know when your home safe and sound.

Beginning the Adventure of Restoring My 76 Chev Luv.
campfire12 replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
I have owned 3 chevy luvs in my lifetime so far. Two 4x4's and a two wheel peal version. Heck my father in law had a 4x4 diesel model. I thought they were the best 4x4's ever made. Mine went bad due to body rot and the box frames seamed to go bad between the rear leaf springs. It just happens that way here in Ohio. The only other weak link was the timeing chain tensioner. I've often thought about looking for another one but the timeing just hasen't been rite. Good luck on the rebuild and keep us posted. Im sort of jealous. -
someware by the controls in the refg compartment you will find a small hole about the size of a pencil eraser. in that hole you will find a one way screw that a flat screwdriver will turn. turn that screw slowly, you will here clicking as you turn the screw. this is the defrost timer. turn the screw untill you here a definete click then wait a min or two. you should hear the ice melting and cracking in the frozen food section. if not then the defrost heater or defrost termination thermostat has gone bad. the defrost timer should click the refg back on in 20 to 30 mins. if not go ahead and force the oneway screw untill the refg clicks and turns back on becauce the defrost timer is bad. thats how you check things out on the refg. good luck friend:fingers-crossed-emo
