Hello there Young Man, glad to know everything is okay. I'm riding for you all I can; I guess it's just not the same. Let us know what we can send you; my son always wanted canned foods and anything with lots of protein. Look forward to the M&E when you return.

You are in my prayers. Keep the positive attitude as best as you can. Odds are in your favor. Keep us up on your progress.

I paid around $225.00 for my 1100; that was the whole kit, wiring, switch and all. The lights I am referring to are located on each side of the headlight and are maybe 4 inches across and round; the purpose is more visibility. The ones I have seen on other bikes have a bracket that fits onto the crossbar. Hope this answers your questions.

I am looking for a reasonably priced set of headlights (I call them running lights) for my bike; I had them on my previous bike and it did make a difference in people seeing me. I have a 2004 Yamaha Venture R/S. Thanks everyone.

During the last couple of weeks my 2004 Venture R/S has been back firing when I slow down, especially if the motor is hot. I have been doing a lot of traveling lately for the PGR and the miles are climbing. I'm sure some of you have had this experience; is it timing, plugs, or what? Need your help. PS: Leaving out this morning for Fayetteville, NC for a PGR mission. The mufflers will pop.

Sorry I didn't get to say goodby to you at the campground. Had a little trouble with one of the members and thought it best I not hang around. Anyway, hang in there and stay in touch; hope you enjoy the doughnuts. See you soon.

Realizing that most of us with any sense ride rice burners, my son has a 2002 Superglide Harley, carborated, and his gas tank has sprung a leak. Buying a new one cost too much on a marine's paycheck, especially since he just found out this week he will be a daddy again (boy this time). Any ideas where we might be able to find a used tank? Do they have junk yards, etc for motorcycles? I know I'm scratching in the dark, but what the heck. You guys and gals have come through before I thought I would try again. Thanks.

I purchased a motorcycle jack from Pep Boys some time ago and have not used it as yet. Yesterday I slid it under my 2004 Venture R/S; I couldn't find a place to position the jack that might not cause damage. Also, is there something on the undercarriage that shows the center balance for my bike?

Just talked to the "Man" upstairs. Things will work out.

Had someone pull out in front of me again yesterday; I had my 3x5 foot flag in the wind but the man upstairs helped me out when I needed it. Sure glad I didn't have my "stuff" on board. Now for the rest of the story; I installed a bar and spotlights with switch on my Vstar 1100 (which has been traded in). I have not been able to find something similar for my 2004 royal star venture. I went to the website for cobra and even talked to them; they could not help me. I have confidence in venturerider.org; someone can point me in the right direction.

I've read responses about changing out rear brake pads. At 42 I'd tackle anything; at 62 I'm a little worried. But, one of the reasons I signed onto Venture Rider is because of the people and the willingness to help others. Brothers and sisters, I may be calling on you if I get hung up and can't fix it.

Quit a 1000 times until my kids backed me in a corner. I quit 12 years ago and would love to be able to smoke a cigar sometimes but I'm sure if I smoke one I'd buy a carton. It was the toughest thing I've ever done but glad I did.

Marines are special. My oldest son made his 20 years this past October. Stationed at Cherry Point. You will find that the corp is a tight outfit; they stand out in a crowd but try to be low key. Your son is my son young man. I'm proud for you and yours; keep sending us a little something ever so often because there are enough of us that would love to keep up with him. Can't wait until you see him after basic.

I need another helmet. I have a big head but am thinking about one of those flip up full face helmets. I wonder if it is too hot; I live in North Carolina and it gets pretty warm in the summer. Also, price is an issue since I'm retired and still some of money is going to the stimulus package, so I don't have a lot of extra. I ride a 2004 Venture Royal Star. Looking for advice here. Thanks.

I understand that bikeweek this Spring will be held in New Bern, N. C. If you have not been to New Bern, you will be pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure how the town will handle it or any particulars. My son is stationed at Cherry Point nearby and he's getting me info. Too bad things went down hill MB; the businesses will miss you. I agree that the week following is a big part of the trouble.

My wife and I had a great time and I had a chance to make some more friends from Venture; the food wasn't bad either. Thanks for everyone's hospitality. My bride got to see a bunch of guys and gals that she could bond with; I've been ever so slowly dragging her into biking and I think it's working. Hope to see you soon. The sun is shing in Zebulon, NC and its going to be in the mid to upper 60's. You know what I will be doing shortly.

That's why this organization is so great. Thanks for everyone's feedback. I ordered the Dunlop 404 whitewalls today. I'll be running them Friday afternoon. Drinks on me.

I'm relatively new (Dec-08) but I can tell you from my limited experience that you will enjoy and learn a bunch about bikes and good people all across Canada and USA. I've been to Alberta providence a number of times; beatiful place.

I have a 2004 Royal Star Venture, pearl white. I think it would look good with whitewalls; I need a front tire ASAP. I have looked at the Avon and I can't find it listed for whitewalls; it appears that number of riders prefer this tire. I have found the Dunlop D404 has whitewalls but have no info on this tire. Looking for feedback or suggestions.

I have had motorcycles for years but my bride is scared to death to ride. I bought the 2004 Royal Star Venture in December; yesterday and today it was over 70 degrees and I got her to ride with me. The bigger bike and comfort has sold her; I now have a partner. She already wants the leather jacket.

I'm 62 and want to make it to 63 and beyond. It won't always save your life but it won't kill you if you are wearing a DOT helmet. I say don't roll the dice which is my opinion and may not be shared by other members.
